Abstract
Intramural gastric pseudocysts are extremely rare and are often associated with pancreatitis and pancreatic pseudocysts; they can lead to complex clinical presentations requiring careful diagnosis and management. We present a case of a 57-year-old man with a history of pancreatitis and pancreatic pseudocysts who was diagnosed with intramural gastric pseudocysts. The patient was diagnosed with multiple gastric intramural pseudocysts at different locations during separate admissions and imaging studies. This indicates a recurrence of gastric intramural pseudocysts. In these cases, studies rarely discuss recurrence and its underlying causes. This highlights a significant gap in the existing literature. To provide a broader understanding, we reviewed the literature by searching major databases (PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science) and then extracted and analyzed data from 18 articles, reaching 24 similar cases. Of the 25 patients studied (including our case), 92% were male and 8% were female. Cases had a mean age of 47.68 ± 14.82 years. Additionally, 84% of the patients had a history of alcohol consumption, and 88% had a positive history of pancreatitis. Common symptoms were abdominal pain (especially in the epigastric region), vomiting, nausea, and weight loss. In conclusion, results showed that intramural gastric pseudocysts generally occur in middle-aged men with a history of chronic or heavy alcohol consumption and pancreatitis.

Abstract
This editorial elaborates on the current and future applications of linear endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), a substantial diagnostic and therapeutic modality for various anatomical regions. The scope of endosonographic assessment is broad and, among other factors, allows for the evaluation of the mediastinal anatomy and related pathologies, such as mediastinal lymphadenopathy and the staging of central malignant lung lesions. Moreover, EUS assessment has proven more accurate in detecting small lesions missed by standard imaging examinations, such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging. We focus on its current uses in the mediastinum, including lung and esophageal cancer staging, as well as evaluating mediastinal lymphadenopathy and submucosal lesions. The editorial also explores future perspectives of EUS in mediastinal examination, including ultrasound-guided therapies, artificial intelligence integration, advancements in mediastinal modalities, and improved diagnostic approaches for various mediastinal lesions.

Abstract
Duodenal tumours are uncommon, but they can cause significant morbidity and mortality. As stomach and colon are a more common site of gastrointestinal malignancies, radiologists sometimes neglect the duodenum. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can accurately locate and characterize mass-forming duodenal lesions, making them invaluable for the differential diagnosis and determining management strategies such as biopsy or surgery. Although conventional endoscopy continues to play an important role in the diagnosis of duodenal tumors, MDCT and MRI are very useful for evaluating the duodenal wall, extraduodenal space, and surrounding viscera, as well as the intraluminal content seen on endoscopy. This pictorial review aims to illustrate the most common benign and malignant mass-forming duodenal lesions and to focus on the imaging features that are most helpful in reaching the correct diagnosis.

Abstract
The origin and characteristics of most submucosal tumors (SMTs) cannot easily be confirmed by gastrointestinal endoscopy or other radiological examinations. Excluding GISTs, for those other gastric SMTs, most of which are deemed benign, the necessity and timing of intervention has been ignored. Thus, the malignancy of gastric SMTs still remains unknown. In order to summarize the malignancy of these gastric SMTs, we reviewed literatures and analyzed cases of gastric SMTs including heterotopic pancreas, leiomyoma, schwannoma, glomus tumor, hemangioendothelioma, granular cell tumor (GCT), lipoma, hemangiopericytoma, lymphangioma and neurofibroma. In these literatures, there are cases of malignancy among heterotopic pancreas, leiomyoma, schwannoma, glomus tumor, hemangioendothelioma and GCT. As a result, it suggests that although most of gastric SMTs are considered benign, there are still possibilities of malignancy, which requires our attention, even active intervention and long-term follow-up.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the computed tomography (CT) features of pathology-proven inflammatory fibroid polyps (IFPs) in the gastrointestinal tract. METHODS This retrospective series study included 27 patients with pathology-proven IFPs in the stomach (n = 16), small (n = 9), and large (n = 2) intestine, who underwent contrast-enhanced CT. Two radiologists reviewed the CT images of the patients to determine in consensus the long diameter, shape, margin, contour, and growth pattern of the lesions, the presence of an ulcer and overlying mucosal hyperenhancement, the lesion enhancement patterns including the homogeneity and the degree of contrast enhancement, and the presence of intussusception and obstruction. The CT results and clinical data of the gastric and intestinal lesions were compared. RESULTS The IFPs typically manifested as well-defined (89%), round or ovoid (81%), slightly lobulated-contoured (70%) masses with a purely endoluminal growth pattern (96%) and an overlying mucosal hyperenhancement (67%). Lesion homogeneity and the degree of contrast enhancement varied. The intestinal IFPs were significantly larger (3.5 vs. 2 cm), more symptomatic (82% vs. 19%), and more frequently associated with intussusception (73% vs. 0%) and obstruction (46% vs. 6%) than the gastric lesions (p ≤ 0.027). CONCLUSIONS The characteristic CT features of IFPs were well-defined, round or ovoid, lobulated-contoured, and endoluminal masses with overlying mucosal hyperenhancement and various enhancement patterns. IFP should be included in the differential diagnosis of patients with a soft-tissue mass in the gastrointestinal tract, especially if a large endoluminal mass in the small intestine is accompanied by intussusception.

Abstract
An innovative ligation-assisted endoscopic enucleation (EE-L) technique was developed for the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal subepithelial lesions (smaller than 12 mm) originating from muscularis propria by combining endoscopic band ligation and endoscopic enucleation techniques. The aim of the study was to evaluate efficacy and safety of EE-L technique in the treatment of esophageal subepithelial lesions (smaller than 12 mm) originating from muscularis propria. Forty-seven esophageal subepithelial lesions (smaller than 12 mm) originating from the muscularis propria in 44 patients were treated with EE-L between September 2010 and September 2012. The lesion was first aspirated into the transparent cap attached to the tip of endoscope. The elastic band was then released around its base. The purpose of ligation was to force the lesion to assume a polypoid form with a pseudostalk. Endoscopic enucleation was then performed until the tumor was completely enucleated from muscularis propria using a hook knife and forceps. All tumors (median diameter: 8.2 ± 2.3 mm, range: 4-12 mm) were enucleated completely. Histopathology identified 45 tumors (95.7%) as leiomyoma, 2 (4.3%) tumors as gastrointestinal stromal tumor with very low risk. The mean time of the EE-L procedure was 12.5 ± 4.6 minutes (range: 6-23 minutes). Two patients experienced self-limiting, non-life-threatening hemorrhage after EE-L. No perforation and massive hemorrhage requiring further endoscopic or surgical intervention occurred. There were no recurrences during the 6-24 months follow-up period. EE-L offers the option of localized treatment of small esophageal muscularis propria tumors (smaller than 12 mm) with relatively few complications and low mortality, and provides the advantage of allowing a histopathological diagnosis. All the resected lesions in this study had a benign pathology.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY To compare the accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) imaging with histopathology in the diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal subepithelial lesions. METHODS Thirty-seven patients (21 female; mean age: 55 y) underwent endoscopic submucosal resection (ESMR) of upper gastro intestinal subepithelial lesions at a tertiary care facility. All patients underwent EUS before ESMR of the lesion. Information regarding location, size, echogenecity, layer of origin, presumptive diagnosis based on EUS imaging, and histopathology diagnosis after ESMR of the subepithelial lesion was recorded. RESULTS Twenty-seven subepithelial lesions were resected from the stomach, 5 from the esophagus, and 5 from the duodenum. The mean size of the lesions was 9 mm (range, 6-18 mm). Thirty-six lesions originated from the submucosa, and 1 from the muscularis propria. Using histopathology as the gold standard, the overall diagnostic accuracy of EUS imaging was 49% (18 out of 37). The accuracy of EUS imaging for the diagnosis of esophageal, gastric, and duodenal subepithelial lesions was 20%, 56%, and 40%, respectively. One patient developed a microperforation, and 1 developed bleeding during the ESMR procedure. No complications were reported with the EUS procedure. CONCLUSIONS The diagnostic accuracy of EUS imaging is inferior to histopathology in the diagnosis of small upper gastrointestinal subepithelial lesions. Endoluminal resection is a relatively safe and noninvasive modality that not only provides tissue sample for accurate diagnostic interpretation, but also aids in the complete removal of small subepithelial lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Abstract
Glomus tumors, as a type of quite rare neoplasms, originate from modified smooth muscle cells of the glomus body whose function is to regulate blood flow within arteries according to the body temperature. Although these tumors most commonly occur in the peripheral soft tissues, especially in the distal parts of extremities, there have been rare reports of visceral involvement (Lorber et al., 2005) [1]. We report a case of gastric glomus tumor, which was preoperatively diagnosed by ultrasonic endoscopy as a gastric stromal tumor and treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).

Abstract
To study the multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) manifestations of gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and mesenteric tumor and tumor-like lesions in children and correlation with pathologic findings. 22 patients (17 male, 5 female; age ranged from 3 days to 11 years; with mean of 4.2 years) were screened out by ultrasonography (US) at first, then were performed with abdominal non-enhanced CT (NECT) and contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) scans. All CT images were evaluated independently by two radiologists and a consensus was reached regarding the morphologic features for lesions such as size, solid/cyst, unilocular/multilocular and thin/thick wall characteristics. The 26 lesions were categorized into two groups based on CT characteristics of lesions' nature, group 1 with the prominent cystic lesions, group 2 with prominent solid lesions. Group 1 was further divided into two subgroups: group 1A for the cystic lesions with thin walls, and group 1B for the cystic lesions with thick walls. In group 1A, 7 lesions were unilocular cysts (6 lymphangioma, 1 ileum mesenteric cyst) and 5 were multilocular cysts with internal septation (4 lymphangioma, 1 greater omental cyst). In group 1B, 10 lesions in 7 patients were unilocular without internal septation, which had two kinds of shape-cystic and tubular, their histopathological types were all enteric duplication cyst (10 segments, with two patients with 2 or 3 segments each); In group 2, all lesions had solid mass (2 gastrointestinal stromal tumors and 2 enteric non-Hodgkin's lymphoma). The majority of gastrointestinal tumors and tumor-like lesions are cystic and benign. MSCT manifestations of cystic/solid and thin/thick wall may be great helpful for differentiating different types of GIT and mesenteric lesions. MSCT manifestations have close correlations with their topographic sites and histopathologic findings.
