Abstract
In this work, an advanced hybrid material was constructed by incorporating niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) nanocrystals with nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) derived from ZIF-8 dodecahedrons, serving as a support, referred to as Nb2O5/NC. Pt nanocrystals were dispersed onto Nb2O5/NC using a simple impregnation reduction method. The obtained Pt/Nb2O5/NC electrocatalyst showed high oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity due to three-phase mutual contacting structure with well-dispersed Pt and Nb2O5NPs. In addition, the conductive NC benefits electron transfer, while the induced Nb2O5can regulate the electronic structure of Pt element and anchor Pt nanocrystals, thereby enhancing the ORR activity and stability. The half-wave potential (E1/2) for Pt/Nb2O5/NC is 0.886 V, which is higher than that of Pt/NC (E1/2= 0.826 V). The stability examinations demonstrated that Pt/Nb2O5/NC exhibited higher electrocatalytic durability than Pt/NC. Our work provides a new direction for synthesis and structural design of precious metal/oxides hybrid electrocatalysts.

Abstract
The massive discard of spent masks during the COVID-19 pandemic imposes great environmental anxiety to the human society, which calls for a reliable and sustainable outlet to mitigate this issue. In this work, we demonstrate a green design strategy of recycling the spent masks to fabricate hard carbon fabrics toward high-efficient sodium energy storage. After a simple carbonization treatment, flexible hard carbon fabrics composed of interwoven microtubular fibers are obtained. When serving as binder-free anodes of sodium-ion batteries, a large Na-ion storage capacity of 280 mAh g-1 is achieved for the optimized sample. More impressively, the flexible anode exhibits an initial coulombic efficiency of as high as 86% and excellent rate/cycling performance. The real-life practice of the flexible hard carbon is realized in the full-cells. The present study affords an enlightening approach for the recycling fabrication of high value-added hard carbon materials from the spent masks for advanced sodium energy storage.

Piezoelectric 1T Phase MoSe 2 Nanoflowers and Crystallographically Textured Electrodes for Enhanced Low-Temperature Zinc-Ion Storage. ADVANCED MATERIALS (DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA.) 2023; 35:e2208615. Abstract
Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are regarded as promising cathode materials for zinc-ion storage owing to their large interlayer spacings. However, their capabilities are still limited by sluggish kinetics and inferior conductivities. In this study, a facile one-pot solvothermal method is exploited to vertically plant piezoelectric 1T MoSe2 nanoflowers on carbon cloth (CC) to fabricate crystallographically textured electrodes. The self-built-in electric field owing to the intrinsic piezoelectricity during the intercalation/deintercalation processes can serve as an additional piezo-electrochemical coupling accelerator to enhance the migration of Zn2+ . Moreover, the expanded interlayer distance (9-10 Å), overall high hydrophilicity, and conductivity of the 1T phase MoSe2 also promoted the kinetics. These advantages endow the tailored 1T MoSe2 /CC nanopiezocomposite with feasible Zn2+ diffusion and desirable electrochemical performances at room and low temperatures. Moreover, 1T MoSe2 /CC-based quasi-solid-state zinc-ion batteries are constructed to evaluate the potential of the proposed material in low-temperature flexible energy storage devices. This work expounds the positive effect of intrinsic piezoelectricity of TMDs on Zn2+ migration and further explores the availabilities of TMDs in low-temperature wearable energy-storage devices.
