Abstract
The worldwide textile industry extensively uses azo dyes, which pose serious health and environmental risks. Effective cleanup is necessary but challenging. Developing bioremediation methods for textile effluents will improve color removal efficiency. The recent attention to effectively utilizing microbes to convert toxic industrial azo dyes into non-hazardous compounds has garnered significant attention. In the present study, four fungal strains-Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus niger, and Fusarium oxysporium-were employed to screen for the degradation and detoxification of azo dyes including congo red, crystal violet, bromophenol blue, and malachite green. After eight days, A. flavus had degraded azo dyes at the maximum proportion. The maximum decolorization (%) was achieved at 50 mg/L of dye concentration, 8 days of incubation, pH 6, 30 °C temperature, sucrose as a carbon source, NaNO3 as a nitrogen source, Ca+2 as minerals, and using static culture. The efficient production of laccases, lignin peroxidase, and manganese peroxidase enzymes by A. flavus proved that the enzyme played a crucial role in decolorizing the harmful azo dyes. The Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer (FT-IR) data validated the decolorization and degradation process brought on by absorption and biodegradation. Compared to control plants, the results of the phytotoxicity assay showed that the degraded product was less harmful to maize and common bean plant's growth and germination rates. As a result, the findings indicate that A. flavus is a viable option for remediating azo dyes. This aids in the biodegradation of azo dyes found in wastewater.

Abstract
Fungi and their natural products, like secondary metabolites, have gained a huge demand in the last decade due to their increasing applications in healthcare, environmental cleanup, and biotechnology-based industries. The fungi produce these secondary metabolites (SMs) during the different phases of their growth, which are categorized into terpenoids, alkaloids, polyketides, and non-ribosomal peptides. These SMs exhibit significant biological activity, which contributes to the formulation of novel pharmaceuticals, biopesticides, and environmental bioremediation agents. Nowadays, these fungal-derived SMs are widely used in food and beverages, for fermentation, preservatives, protein sources, and in dairy industries. In healthcare, it is being used as an antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and immunosuppressive drug. The usage of modern tools of biotechnology can achieve an increase in demand for these SMs and large-scale production. The present review comprehensively analyses the diversity of fungal SMs along with their emerging applications in healthcare, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and nutraceuticals. Here, the authors have reviewed the recent advancements in genetic engineering, metabolic pathway manipulation, and synthetic biology to improve the production and yield of these SMs. Advancement in fermentation techniques, bioprocessing, and co-cultivation approaches for large-scale production of SMs. Investigators further highlighted the importance of omics technologies in understanding the regulation and biosynthesis of SMs, which offers an understanding of novel applications in drug discovery and sustainable agriculture. Finally, the authors have addressed the potential for genetic manipulation and biotechnological innovations for further exploitation of fungal SMs for commercial and environmental benefits.

Abstract
The dyeing industry effluent causes severe environmental pollution and threatens the native flora and fauna. The current study aimed to analyze the physicochemical parameters of dyeing industry wastewater collected in different sites (K1, E2, S3, T4, and V5), as well as the metal tolerance and decolourisation ability of Aspergillus flavus. Furthermore, the optimal biomass quantity and temperatures required for efficient bioremediation were investigated. Approximately five dyeing industry wastewater samples (K1, E2, S3, T4, and V5) were collected from various sampling stations, and the majority of the physical and chemical characteristics were discovered to be above the permissible limits. A. flavus demonstrated outstanding metal resistance to As, Cu, Cr, Zn, Hg, Pb, Ni, and Cd on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) plates at concentrations of up to 500 g mL-1. At 4 g L-1 concentrations, A. flavus biomass decolorized up to 11.2-46.5%. Furthermore, 35°C was found to be the optimal temperature for efficient decolourisation of A. flavus biomass. The toxicity of 35°C-treated wastewater on V. mungo and prawn larvae was significantly reduced. These findings indicate that the biomass of A. flavus can be used to decolorize dyeing industry wastewater.
