Abstract
This study aims to identify the dynamics of robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) teams and their metrics. A scoping review across seven science, engineering, and clinical databases was conducted. It was found that literature focuses on skills and interactions centralized around the surgeon and technical components of the robotic system; however, limited literature exists on skill proceduralization specific for other surgical team members performing robotic-assisted surgery procedures. A framework that identifies the individuals (i.e., surgeon, surgical team members, and robotic platform), with their respective skill requirements (technical and nontechnical), and the required interactions among the team and RAS systems was developed. Future research in RAS human-robot interaction can address the need to understand changing dynamics and skills required by the surgical team with the continuing evolution and adoption of surgical robot technology.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) is an effective, minimally invasive, feasible, and promising surgical technique for the treatment of various benign and malignant gynecological diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in surgical conditions, complications, and esthetic incisions between SPLS and traditional laparoscopic surgery (TLS) in benign gynecological surgeries. METHODS Fifty-one eligible patients were included, and their general information (age, surgical approach), surgical conditions (surgical time, blood loss, postoperative first flatus), postoperative pain, and incision healing were collected. RESULTS There was a significant difference in the results of hysterectomy between the two groups. The surgical time in the SPLS group was significantly shorter than that in the TLS group (p = 0.026). Furthermore, the SPLS group had less blood loss (p < 0.05) and earlier postoperative first flatus (p < 0.05) than the control group. There was no significant difference in postoperative conditions between the two groups. During the follow-up, it was found that the Vancouver Scar Scale score was 8.37 ± 2.30 in the control group and 6.81 ± 2.14 in the study group. The cosmetic effect and satisfaction were better in the SPLS group (p = 0.018). Subgroup analysis showed that in other benign gynecological diseases without uterine lesions, SPLS significantly improved surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative first flatus (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION SPLS demonstrated good clinical efficacy in benign gynecological surgery, with shorter surgical time, less blood loss, earlier postoperative first flatus, fewer complications, and better cosmetic effects of scars.

Abstract
Cystectomy, the surgical removal of ovarian tissue, is commonly performed in women of reproductive age to address conditions such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and tumors. The choice of surgical technique, open versus laparoscopic, has significant implications for postoperative recovery and long-term fertility outcomes. This comprehensive review aims to evaluate the current literature on the effects of these two surgical approaches on fertility in women of reproductive age. Open cystectomy, while effective, is associated with larger incisions, increased trauma to surrounding reproductive structures, and a higher incidence of postoperative complications, which may negatively impact future fertility. In contrast, laparoscopic cystectomy offers a minimally invasive option that generally results in less postoperative pain, quicker recovery, and potentially improved fertility outcomes due to reduced damage to surrounding tissues. However, the literature reveals a complex interplay between surgical technique, underlying medical conditions, and individual patient factors that can influence reproductive potential. This review synthesizes key studies comparing the fertility outcomes of both surgical methods, highlighting the need for individualized surgical planning based on each patient's unique circumstances and reproductive goals. Additionally, it discusses the importance of preoperative counseling and multidisciplinary approaches to optimize patient outcomes. Future research is essential to further clarify the long-term fertility implications of open and laparoscopic cystectomy and to refine surgical techniques to enhance reproductive health. This review contributes to the growing body of evidence guiding clinicians in making informed decisions that prioritize the effective treatment of ovarian pathology and fertility preservation.

Abstract
Introduction Insulinoma during pregnancy is a rare condition with vague clinical symptoms, making diagnosis challenging. The standard treatment for insulinoma is surgical tumor removal, preferably using a minimally invasive method. However, there have been no recorded examples of employing a robotic platform in pregnant women with insulinoma. In this report, we present the first successful case of robotic enucleation for insulinoma during pregnancy. Case presentation A 30-year-old pregnant woman presented with recurrent hypoglycemic symptoms throughout her first trimester that were relieved by food intake. After confirming endogenous hyperinsulinemia, an abdominal magnetic resonance imaging scan was performed to locate the tumor. A well-defined 2-cm mass was found in the pancreatic body. Robotic enucleation was performed at week 18 of gestation, and the patient experienced relief from hypoglycemic episodes postoperatively. Her blood glucose levels returned to normal, and she had an uneventful pregnancy. The patient eventually delivered a healthy baby via cesarean section without any complications. Conclusions For a subset of pregnant individuals with insulinoma, a minimally invasive approach as robotic-assisted surgery is safe and feasible. This innovative technique has the potential to both mothers and fetuses.

Abstract
The advent of catheter-based minimally invasive surgical instruments has provided an effective means of diagnosing and treating human disease. However, conventional medical catheter devices are limited in functionalities, hindering their ability to gather tissue information or perform precise treatment during surgery. Recently, electronic catheters have integrated various sensing and therapeutic technologies through micro/nanoelectronics, expanding their capabilities. As micro/nanoelectronic devices become more miniaturized, flexible, and stable, electronic surgical catheters are evolving from simple tools to multiplexed sensing and theranostics for surgical applications. The review on multifunctional electronic surgical catheters is lacking and thus is not conducive to the reader's comprehensive understanding of the development trend in this field. This review covers the advances in multifunctional electronic catheters for precise and intelligent diagnosis and therapy in minimally invasive surgery. It starts with the summary of clinical minimally invasive surgical instruments, followed by the background of current clinical catheter devices for sensing and therapeutic applications. Next, intelligent electronic catheters with integrated electronic components are reviewed in terms of electronic catheters for diagnosis, therapy, and multifunctional applications. It highlights the present status and development potential of catheter-based minimally invasive surgical devices, while also illustrating several significant challenges that remain to be overcome.

Abstract
AIM The study quantifies clinicians' perceptions and challenges during different stages of diabetic foot treatment. Diabetic neuropathy (DN), which is a major consequence of diabetes, significantly increases the risk of lower limb amputation. This can be prevented to a large extent by foot care, early detection, and lesion treatment. METHODS Ninety-two Indian clinicians of various demographics, medical specializations, and experiences were interviewed. Diabetic foot treatment by primary and secondary care clinicians was assessed. This study evaluates aspects related to patient awareness, compliance, and shortcomings of current diagnostic techniques. RESULTS A two-sample Mann-Whitney statistical method was used to infer the perceptions of clinicians on hypothesis questions. Primary and secondary care clinicians' perceptions differed for the hypotheses related to objective assessment (p-value = 0.001), operator variability (p-value = 0.03), and patient compliance (p-value = 0.047). Conversely, both groups held comparative perspectives for the awareness (p-value = 0.369) and examination time (p-value = 0.276) hypotheses. CONCLUSIONS All clinicians strongly supported the need for an objective assessment to reduce the misdiagnosis of DN. Further, DNis often underdiagnosed due to a lack of awareness and knowledgeamong people with diabetes. Secondary care clinicians acknowledged a need for trained operators to reduce reliability errors. These insights provide directions for future research in this field.

The coexistence of laparoscopy and robotics is explored, acknowledging their respective strengths and roles in shaping women's healthcare. In conclusion, the dynamic nature of the field is underscored, emphasizing the need for a patient-centered and adaptable approach. Collaboration between healthcare professionals, engineers, and researchers is pivotal in unlocking these innovations' full potential, ensuring continued advancements in gynecological surgery for improved outcomes and enhanced patient care.
