Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the response predictors, both clinical and 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters, in Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) patients diagnosed with refractory/relapsed disease who were planned to receive salvage therapy. METHODS In this retrospective study, all HL patients referred to our center between March 2015 and July 2021 were reviewed. Patients with refractory/relapsed disease who were candidates for salvage therapy were included. 18F-FDG PET/CT measurements at the time of diagnosis were extracted as the predictors, and the lesions' response at the end of the salvage therapy was considered the outcomes. The Kaplan-Meier method and multiple Cox regression were utilized to find the significant parameters to predict the time to reach the complete response. The statistical significance level was set at a two-sided p-value <0.05. RESULTS A total of 303 tumoral lesions from 64 patients were included. Regarding the factors associated with the response, B symptoms (p-value < 0.01), pathologic subtype (p-value < 0.001), and patient stage (p-value < 0.01) were the significant clinical parameters. In addition, SUVmax (p-value = 0.03), SUVmax/hepatic background SUVmax (p-value = 0.04), SUVmean (in all thresholds; 41% p-value = 0.02, 51% p-value = 0.04, 61% p-value = 0.01), and MTV (in all thresholds; 41% p-value = 0.04, 51% p-value = 0.04, 61% p-value = 0.05) were the significant parameters in the 18F-FDG PET/CT scans. At the median follow-up of 9 months, we found that pathologic subtype (p-value < 0.01), patient stage (p-value = 0.03), SUVmax (p-value = 0.02), SUVmax/hepatic background SUVmax (p-value = 0.03), SUVmean (in all thresholds; 41% p-value = 0.01, 51% p-value = 0.02, 61% p-value = 0.02), and MTV ≥ 41% (p-value = 0.02) were significant predictive factors. Multiple Cox regression showed the pathologic subtype (p-value = 0.02), SUVmax (p-value = 0.02), and MTV ≥ 41% (p-value = 0.04) were the most significant predictors. CONCLUSION Our study demonstrated that by knowing the histopathology of the lesions, the pre-treatment 18F-FDG PET/CT might be able to predict response after salvage therapy in the relapsed/refractory HL.

Abstract
There is still controversy about quantitatively evaluating the therapeutic effect of radioactive low-activity iodine-125 seeds (125I seeds). In the present study, a paired VX2 tumor model in a rabbit hind leg muscle was established, which is virus-induced anaplastic squamous cell carcinoma characterized by hypervascularity, rapid growth and easy propagation in the skeletal muscle. 125I seeds with 0.4 and 0.7 mCi activity were implanted into the left and right legs, respectively, using a radiation treatment planning system under positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) guidance. PET/CT scans and hematoxylin and eosin staining were observed at 72 h and 2 and 4 weeks after implantation to assess the therapeutic effect. The results showed that the average tumor length and standard uptake value (SUV) decreased over time, and both 125I seed groups achieved therapeutic effects at 4 weeks post-implantation. Quantitative evaluation of tumor inhibition rate, SUV variation and tumor marker ratio (Bcl-2/Bax) suggested that 0.7 mCi 125I seeds were more suitable than 0.4 mCi seeds in a clinical setting.

Abstract
Introduction: Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) carries an overall excellent prognosis for young patients treated with multimodal therapy. Predicting an individual patient's prognosis is currently heavily dependent on imaging modalities such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET).Areas covered: Potential biomarkers from serum, tissue, circulating nucleic acids and non-tumor derived cells have all been reported to be of prognostic relevance in HL. We review a range of these biomarkers and discuss the integration of new biomarkers into individualized patient care.Expert opinion: Better prognostic markers are needed to predict an individuals response to HL therapy. Interim PET-scan improves the ability to predict long-term treatment responders. However, it is our opinion that supplementation of PET results with additional biomarkers (including circulating tumor DNA, protein biomarkers, tissue genotyping and metabolic tumor volume) are likely to improve risk stratification for future patients with HL.

Abstract
With continued progress and success in clinical care, the management of patients with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) has undergone continuous revision to improve patient care outcomes and limit acute and late treatment effects on normal tissue imposed by therapy. Hodgkin lymphoma is a disease that affects children, adolescents, and adults. Clinical management strategies are influenced by the patient's age at diagnosis, tumor burden, response to induction therapy, and potential expectation of treatment impact on normal tissue. The approach to patient management varies in many parts of the world and is influenced by treatment availability, physician training, and medical culture. Differences in approach are important to understand for accurately comparing and contrasting outcome studies. In this article, we will identify current areas of common ground and points of separation in patient care management for HL. Opportunities for clinical trial strategies will be defined for future clinical trials.

Abstract
Soluble Galectin-1 (sGal-1, also termed LGALS1), soluble CD163 (sCD163) and soluble CD30 (sCD30) have been reported to be elevated in plasma or serum of patients with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). We aimed to determine the clinical utility of these biomarkers for evaluation of treatment response compared to thymus and activation regulated chemokine (TARC, also termed CCL17). Plasma or serum samples were prospectively collected among 103 newly diagnosed cHL patients before and after treatment. Levels of sGal-1, sCD163, sCD30 and TARC were correlated with disease characteristics and clinical treatment response. Elevated plasma levels of sGal-1, sCD163, sCD30 and TARC were found in 67%, 21%, 91% and 93% of cHL patients respectively. Mean plasma levels of sGal-1 and sCD30 decreased after treatment but sCD163 did not decrease after treatment. There was no correlation with change of these markers and clinical treatment response in individual patients. TARC levels strongly correlated with disease characteristics and metabolic volume. TARC remained high in 6 out of 7 non-responsive patients and dramatically decreased in 95 out of 96 responsive patients. In summary, elevated pre-treatment levels of sGal-1, sCD163, sCD30 and TARC can be found in patients with cHL. However, only plasma TARC accurately reflects disease activity and correlates with clinical treatment response.

Abstract
(18) F-labelled-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) findings are challenging to interpret for residual disease versus complete response in paediatric patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). A biopsy is often warranted to confirm the presence or absence of viable tumour if there is clinical or radiographic evidence of residual disease. In this study, we compared conventional imaging and FDG-PET/computerized tomography (CT) findings with biopsy results in 18 children with NHL. Our goal was to provide additional data to establish more reliable criteria for response evaluation. Residual disease was suspected after conventional imaging alone in eight patients, after FDG-PET/CT alone in three and after both modalities in seven patients. Biopsy confirmed the presence of viable tumour in two patients. Two additional patients experienced progressive disease or relapse. The sensitivity and negative predictive value of FDG-PET/CT using the London criteria to indicate residual tumour detectable by biopsy were 100%, but specificity was low (60%), as was the positive predictive value (25%). Thus, in this study, a negative FDG-PET/CT finding was a good indicator of complete remission. However, because false-positive FDG-PET/CT findings are common, biopsy and close monitoring are required for accurate determination of residual disease in individual patients.
