Abstract
New palladium complexes with general formula trans-[Pd(L)2(OAc)2] (1,2), (L = Benzhydrazide and 2-Furoic hydrazide) have been synthesized and characterized with various methods including elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1HNMR and mass spectroscopy. Afterward their interactions with bovine serum albumin and calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid have been investigated by UV-vis absorption, fluorescence emission and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Also, site-selective replacement experiments with site probes have been carried out. Analysis of fluorescence spectrum indicated static quenching mechanism. Spectroscopic measurements for DNA binding showed the groove binding to DNA for both complexes. Furthermore, cytotoxicity studies of complexes and cis-platin have been done against colon carcinoma (CT26) and breast cancer (4T1) cell lines. Evaluation of complexes (1) and (2) on induction of apoptosis in CT26 cells has been done. Finally, plasmid cleavage ability of (1) and (2) was investigated by gel electrophoresis that indicate the more activity of (1) than (2).

Abstract
Four binuclear Ni(II) complexes [[Ni2(H-DEAsal-tsc)2(μ-dppm)]·2Cl (1), [Ni2(DEAsal-mtsc)2(μ-dppm)] (2), [Ni2(DEAsal-etsc)2(μ-dppm)] (3) and [Ni2(DEAsal-ptsc)2(μ-dppm)] (4)] were synthesized from the ligands namely 4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-tsc] H2L1/4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-methyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-mtsc] H2L2/4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-ethyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-etsc] H2L3/4(N,N)diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-phenyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-ptsc] H2L4 and 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) and characterized by a number of spectro analytical techniques. The molecular structure of complexes [Ni2(H-DEAsal-tsc)2(μ-dppm)]·2Cl (1) and [Ni2(DEAsal-ptsc)2(μ-dppm)] (4) have been confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The analysis indicated that in complex 1, the ligand [H2-DEAsal-tsc] coordinated as monobasic tridentate donor through phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and thione sulfur atoms. However, in complex 4, the ligand [H2-DEAsal-ptsc] behaved as dibasic tridentate donor with thiolate sulfur coordination. Their ability to bind with Calf Thymus Deoxyribonucleic acid (CT-DNA) and Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) were analysed spectrometrically. Intercalative interaction of the complexes with DNA was confirmed by ethidium bromide (EB) displacement studies and DNA viscosity measurements. The interaction mechanism of the complexes with BSA was found as static. In vitro antiproliferative studies of the ligands and complexes in A549 (human lung carcinoma cancer), MCF-7 (human breast cancer) and HeLa (human cervical cancer) cell lines witnessed significant cytotoxic nature of the complexes with low IC50 values (in μM) than the standard metallo-drug cisplatin. Further, the results of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) and Nitric oxide (NO) release assays supported the effectiveness of the complexes on the above said cancer cells.

Abstract
Herein, we review developments in synthesis, structure, and biological (anti-cancer) activities of 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) bridged homo- and heterobimetallic systems of the type LmM(μ2-dppm)M'Ln (M and M' are transition metals which may be different or the same and Ln,m are co-ligands) since the first such reported bimetallic system in 1987 until the present time (2020). As the simplest diphosphine, dppm enables facile formation of bimetallic complexes, where, given the short spacer between the PPh2 groups, close spatial proximity of the metal centres is ensured. We concentrate on complexes bearing no M-M interaction and contrast biological activities of these complexes with mononuclear counterparts and positive control agents such as cisplatin, in an attempt to elucidate patterns in the biological activities of these complexes.

Abstract
Three new 6-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carbaldehyde-thiosemicarbazones-N-4-substituted pro-ligands and their Cu(II) complexes (1, -NH2; 2, -NHMe; 3, -NHEt) have been prepared and characterized. In both the X-ray structures of 1 and 3, two crystallographically independent complex molecules were found that differ either in the nature of weakly metal-binding species (water in 1a and nitrate in 1b) or in the co-ligand (water in 3a and methanol in 3b). Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) measurements carried out on complexes 1 and 3 confirmed the presence of such different species in the solution. The electrochemical behavior of the pro-ligands and of the complexes was investigated, as well as their biological activity. Complexes 2 and 3 exhibited a high cytotoxicity against human tumor cells and 3D spheroids derived from solid tumors, related to the high cellular uptake. Complexes 2 and 3 also showed a high selectivity towards cancerous cell lines with respect to non-cancerous cell lines and were able to circumvent cisplatin resistance. Via the Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) imaging technique, preliminary insights into the biological activity of copper complexes were obtained.
