A novel 3-fold interpenetrated dia metal-organic framework as a heterogeneous catalyst for CO2 cycloaddition

Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide to Formate by Noble Metal Catalysts Supported on a Chemically Stable Lanthanum Rod-Metal-Organic Framework

The conversion of carbon dioxide to formate is of great importance for hydrogen storage as well as being a step to access an array of olefins. Herein, we have prepared a JMS-5 metal-organic framework (MOF) using a bipyridyl dicarboxylate linker, with the molecular formula [La₂(bpdc)_3/2(dmf)₂(OAc)₃]·dmf. The MOF was functionalized by cyclometalation using Pd(II), Pt(II), Ru(II), Rh(III), and Ir(III) complexes. All metal catalysts supported on JMS-5 showed activity for CO₂ hydrogenation to formate, with Rh(III)@JMS-5a and Ir(III)@JMS-5a yielding 4319 and 5473 TON, respectively. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of the most active catalyst Ir(III)@JMS-5a revealed that the iridium binding energies shifted to lower values, consistent with formation of Ir-H active species during catalysis. The transmission electron microscopy images of the recovered catalysts of Ir(III)@JMS-5a and Rh(III)@JMS-5a did not show any nanoparticles. This suggests that the catalytic activity observed was due to Ir(III) and Rh(III). The high activity displayed by Ir(III)@JMS-5a and Rh(III)@JMS-5a compared to using the Ir(III) and Rh(III) complexes on their own is attributed to the stabilization of the Ir(III) and Rh(III) on the nitrogen and carbon atom of the MOF backbone.

A new 3D heterometallic coordination polymer: luminescent property and nursing application value on acute cerebral infarction

With the solvothermal reactions of flexible tetracarboxylic acid ligand with the Cd(II) and Ca(II) ions, we acquired a new heterometallic coordination polymer formulated as {[Cd₂Ca₂(L)₂(DMF)₂(H₂O)₇]·(DMF)·2(H₂O)}_n (1, H₄L is 5-(bis(4-carboxybenzyl)amino)isophthalic acid, DMF is N,N’-Dimethylformamide). Furthermore, the solids of 1 shows ligand-centered luminescence at room temperature. It not only evaluated the treatment and nursing application value on acute cerebral infarction, but also explored the related mechanism. Above of all, ELISA assay measured the content of the MMP-9 released into the cerebrospinal fluid, and the real time RT-PCR was implemented and the NF-κB activation in the brain tissue was measured.

A layered Mn-based coordination polymer as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for CO2 cycloaddition under mild conditions

A layered coordination polymer has been constructed by using a semi-rigid ligand, exhibiting a robust catalytic activity toward the cycloaddition of CO2 with epoxides.

Coordination-driven assembly of a 3d-4f heterometallic organic framework with 1D Cu4I4 and Eu-based chains: syntheses, structures and various properties

A three-dimensional porous 3d-4f heterometallic organic framework, namely, {[Eu3(Cu4I4)3(INA)9(DMF)4]·3DMF}n (YNU-2), was successfully prepared under solvothermal conditions. There are two different one-dimensional metal chains in the structure, namely, Cu4I4 and EuIII-based chains, resulting in an excellent stability of the prepared sample. A N2 sorption isotherm at 77 K revealed that the activated sample exhibits a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 371 m2 g-1, while, YNU-2 can adsorb obviously higher CO2 amounts than CH4 at 273 K and 298 K under 1 atm because of the stronger interaction force between CO2 and the porous skeleton. Furthermore, YNU-2 is highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for chemical fixation of the CO2 and epoxides into cyclic carbonates with a preferable recyclability. Taking into account its excellent stability, the prepared sample can be used to construct an electrochemical adapter sensor for detecting cocaine with a detection limit of 0.27 pg mL-1 in the wide range of 0.001-0.5 ng mL-1.
