Abstract
Phellinus linteus (P. linteus) is a famous Chinese medicine and has a long history in China. In recent years, P. linteus polysaccharides (PLPs) have attracted extensive attention because of their biological activities such as anti-bacteria, anti-aging, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, anti-tumor, hepatoprotective effect and hypoglycemic effect. In this review, we systemically summarized the advances in extractions, purifications and structural characterizations of PLPs, and also analyzed their biological functions and molecular mechanisms. Meanwhile, the structure-activity relationships of PLPs are closely related to their anti-oxidation and anti-tumor activities. So far, the applications of PLPs are still very limited, further exploring structure-activity relationships, biological functions and their mechanisms of PLPs will promote to develop functional foods.

Purification of polysaccharides from Phellinus linteus by using an aqueous two-phase system and evaluation of the physicochemical and antioxidant properties of polysaccharides in vitro. Abstract
In this study, Phellinus linteus polysaccharides (PLPS) and proteins were simultaneously separated from P. linteus mycelia by using an aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) based on choline chloride ([Chol]Cl)/K2HPO4, and the physicochemical and antioxidant properties of PLPS after ATPS extraction were evaluated. Results demonstrated that the maximal extraction efficiencies of 68.53% ± 0.29% PLPS and 82.37% ± 0.41% proteins were obtained when the cholinium-based ATPS contained 68.9% K2HPO4, 20% [Chol]Cl, 10.0 mg mL-1 crude water extract (1.0 mL), and distilled water (4.0 mL) at shaking time and temperature of 30 min and 21.2 °C, respectively. Compared with C-PLPS obtained using traditional ethanol precipitation and isolation protocols, PLPS had higher carbohydrate content (63.58% ± 1.12%), lower molecular weight (15.2 kDa, 80%), different monosaccharide compositions, and showed similar preliminary structural characterizations. Moreover, PLPS exhibited more evident scavenging effects on free radicals and in vitro antioxidant activities than C-PLPS. Therefore, the method of [Chol]Cl/K2HPO4 ATPS can be developed as an effective strategy for the separation/purification of highly bioactive polysaccharides.

Abstract
Rare ginsenoside CK was recognized as a popular functional food because of superior pharmacological activity, but it is restricted by further applications by the difficulty in preparation. In this study, deep eutectic solvent (DES)-based aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) was established to transform and extract ginsenoside CK in situ for the first time. The phase formation conditions for preparing ATPS using choline chloride-based DES were studied, and the optimal conditions for extractive bioconversion were explored using conventional single-factor experiments. The conditions for ATPS establishment were as follows: 31.9% (w/w) DES (ChCl-ethylene glycol)/24.5% (w/w) K2HPO4, 55 °C, pH 5.0. Under the optimal conditions, 75.79% product and 61.14% β-glucosidase were recovered from the top and bottom phase, respectively. In addition, DES and β-glucosidase can be recovered and recycled again for the next extractive bioconversion of CK. These results indicated that this green and efficient method exhibited considerable value in integrated production and extraction processes, and demonstrated the potential for obtaining highly recycled functional foods and similar products.
