Abstract
The lumbopelvic muscle mechanical properties (MMPs) are clinically relevant, but their dependence on sex remains unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to identify if lumbopelvic MMPs depend on the sex in a young adult population. Thirty-five healthy nulliparous women and 35 healthy men were analyzed (age range: 18-50). Lumbopelvic MMPs, that is, tone, stiffness, elasticity, relaxation and creep, assessed with MyotonPRO®, and pelvic floor (PF) health questionnaires were compared between-sexes. Intra-group correlations between sociodemographic and clinical data, and MMPs were also determined. The MMPs of PF were different between healthy non-climacteric adults of both sexes, with women showing higher values of tone and stiffness and lower values of elasticity and viscoelastic properties than men (in all cases, p < 0.03). At lumbar level, tone and stiffness were higher for men at both sides (in all cases, p < 0.04), and relaxation was lower at left side (p = 0.02). The MMPs showed few correlations with sociodemographic data within women. However, within males, there were positive correlations for PF stiffness and viscoelastic parameters with age, BMI and function (0.334 < r < 0.591) and, at lumbar level, negative correlations for tone and stiffness ( - 0.385 < r < -0.590) and positive correlations for viscoelastic properties (0.564 < r < 0.719), with BMI. This indicated that between-sexes differences of lumbopelvic MMPs depend on the specific location of assessment in healthy non-obese young individuals. Women show higher tone and stiffness and lower elasticity and viscoelasticity than men, at PF level.

Abstract
The purpose of this focused review is to develop a consolidated hypothesis as to the causes and mechanisms of central sensitization and a related model for a treatment approach using Systemic Manual Therapy (SMT). The key to understanding central sensitization is a firm grasp on structure and function of the Locus-coeruleus noradrenaline system (LC-NA). This system uses an elaborate switching mechanism to control the level and rate of activation of multiple systems. This review evaluates the mechanisms and temporal relationships behind four components: salient stimuli, threat coding, aberrant afferent input, and oxidative stress. The five-stage temporal model for central sensitization includes phasic activation of the LC-NA system, salient stimuli, threat coding of salient stimuli, central sensitization, and neural degeneration. The three components of treatment include temporarily reducing afferent visceral input, shifting humoral inflammatory activity away from the brain and outside the body, and reducing oxidative stress by making oxygenated blood more available around the LC and other stressed areas in the brain. The SMT protocols that could help in reduction of visceral afferent input are GUOU, Barral and LAUG. Protocols that should shift humoral inflammatory activity away from the brain or completely out of the body include UD and DCS. One protocol that can potentially reduce oxidative stress by making oxygenated blood more available around the LC is CCCV. Future research and hypothesis-testing strategies as well as limitations are further discussed.

Abstract
Introduction Acute bacterial prostatitis is characterized by acute inflammation of the prostate gland accompanied by the presence of pain and other urinary tract or systemic symptoms. Prostatitis is a relatively common disease of the urinary tract in men, However, this case reports a man diagnosed with acute bacterial prostatitis with an unusual presentation, as well as an unusual pathogen and a unique mechanism of colonization. Case Report A 52-year-old male with no past medical history presented to our facility for right-sided buttock pain associated with dysuria, diarrhea, and perianal burning. The patient was diagnosed with sepsis secondary to acute bacterial prostatitis, and the pathogen identified in his urine was Aeromonas hydrophila/A. caviae. His disease process was later recognized as a complication of the use of a P-valve condom catheter while freshwater cave diving. Conclusion This is the first documented case of prostatitis as a result of the use of a P-valve condom catheter while diving. Furthermore, the pathogen identified is of particular interest as there are very few documented cases of urosepsis secondary to Aeromonas hydrophila or A. caviae.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Urethral pain syndrome (UPS) is still a pathology in which the diagnosis is formulated as a "diagnosis of exclusion". The exact pathogenetic mechanisms are not yet fully understood and clear recommendations for the prevention and treatment of UPS are absent. METHODS AND PARTICIPANTS A clinical and laboratory evaluation of 55 patients with established UPS included history taking, basic laboratory tests (e.g., complete blood count and clinical urine test), physical examination, uroflowmetry, and cystourethroscopy. Additionally, transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) with compression elastography and cross-polarization optical tomography (CP OCT) were performed in 24 and 33 patients with UPS, respectively. The control group consisted of 14 patients with no complaints from the urinary system. RESULTS TVUS showed an expansion in the diameter of the internal lumen of the urethra, especially in the proximal region compared with the norm. Compression elastography revealed areas with increased stiffness (presence of fibrosis) in urethral and surrounding tissues. The performed CP OCT study showed that in UPS, the structure of the tissues in most cases was changed: trophic alterations in the epithelium (hypertrophy or atrophy) and fibrosis of underlying connective tissue were observed. The proximal fragment of the urethra with UPS underwent changes identical to those of the bladder neck. CONCLUSION This paper showed that the introduction of new technology-CP OCT-in conjunction with TVUS will allow verification of structural changes in tissues of the lower urinary tract at the level of their architectonics and will help doctors understand better the basics of the UPS pathogenesis.
