Abstract
This paper reviews the improvement in the field of catalytic hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone to 2-ethylanthrahydroquinone for the successful production of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is being used in almost all industrial areas, particularly in the chemical industry and in environmental protection, as the most promising oxidant for cleaner and environmentally safer processes. A variety of hydrogenation catalysts have been introduced for hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone in the production of hydrogen peroxide via anthraquinone (AQ) process. The aim of the present study is to describe the catalysts used in the hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone and the reaction mechanism involved with different catalytic systems. The hydrogenation of 2-ethylanthraquinone using metals, alloy, bimetallic composite, and supported metal catalyst with the structural modifications has been incorporated for the production of hydrogen peroxide. The comprehensive comparison reveals that the supported metal catalysts required lesser catalyst amount, produced lower AQ decay, and provided higher catalyst activity and selectivity. Furthermore, the replacement of conventional catalysts by metal and metal alloy-supported catalyst rises as a hydrogenation trend, enhancing by several times the catalytic performance.

Abstract
Au NPs improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 only in a low temperature range. Excessive Au NPs loaded on TiO2 inhibit the photocatalytic amine conversion due to the decreased oxygen vacancies and poor amine adsorption ability.

Abstract
The structure, composition, and atomic distribution of nanoalloys under operating conditions are of significant importance for their catalytic activity. In the present work, we use ab initio molecular dynamics simulations to understand the structural behavior of Au-Pd nanoalloys supported on rutile TiO2 under different conditions. We find that the Au-Pd structure is strongly dependent on the redox properties of the support, originating from strong metal-support interactions. Under reducing conditions, Pd atoms are inclined to move toward the metal/oxide interface, as indicated by a significant increase of Pd-Ti bonds. This could be attributed to the charge localization at the interface that leads to Coulomb attractions to positively charged Pd atoms. In contrast, under oxidizing conditions, Pd atoms would rather stay inside or on the exterior of the nanoparticle. Moreover, Pd atoms on the alloy surface can be stabilized by hydrogen adsorption, forming Pd-H bonds, which are stronger than Au-H bonds. Our work offers critical insights into the structure and redox properties of Au-Pd nanoalloy catalysts under working conditions.

Abstract
One of the main goals of organic chemists is to find easy, environmentally friendly, and cost effective methods for the synthesis of industrially important compounds. Photocatalysts have brought revolution in this regard as they make use of unlimited source of energy (the solar light) to carry out the synthesis of organic compounds having otherwise complex synthetic procedures. However, selectivity of the products has been a major issue since the beginning of photocatalysis. The present article encompasses state of the art accomplishments in harvesting light energy for selective organic transformations using photocatalysts. Several approaches for the development of photocatalysts for selective organic conversions have been critically discussed with the objective of developing efficient, selective, environmental friendly and high yield photocatalytic methodologies.

Abstract
Abstract
Modern society has an ever-increasing demand for environmentally friendly catalytic processes. Catalysis research is working towards a solution through the development of effective heterogeneous catalysts for environment-related applications. Nanotechnologies have provided effective strategies for the preparation of nanocrystals (NCs) with well-defined sizes, shapes and compositions. Precise control of these NCs provides an important foundation for the studies of structure-performance relationships in catalysis, which is critical to the design of NCs with optimized catalytic performances for practical applications. We focus on recent advances in the development of bottom-up strategies to control NCs structures for some key catalytic applications, including CO oxidation, selective oxidation of alcohols, semihydrogenation of alkynes, and selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes and nitrobenzene. These key applications have been a popular research focus because of their significance in green chemistry. Herein we also discuss the scientific understandings of the active species and active structures of these systems to gain an insight for rational design of efficient catalytic systems for these catalytic reactions.

Abstract
Plasmonic photocatalysts composed of Au and bimetallic Au-Pd alloy nanoparticles (NPs) on one-dimensional TiO2 nanobelts (TiO2-NBs) were used for the aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol under visible light irradiation. Remarkable light-promoted activity was observed for the as-synthesized M/TiO2-NB (M = Au, Au-Pd) nanostructures based on the TiO2(B)/anatase heterostructured nanobelt. The difference in band structure and the well matched interface between the TiO2(B) and anatase phases, coupled with the one-dimensional nanostructure, enable an enhanced charge transfer within the heterostructured nanobelt. This inter-phase charge transfer greatly facilitates the flow of hot electrons from the metal NPs to TiO2 and promotes benzyl alcohol oxidation. This efficient electron transfer was identified by the much higher photocurrent response measured for the Au/TiO2-NB nanostructure with the TiO2(B)/anatase heterojunction than those with either of the single phases under visible light irradiation. Alloying Au with Pd in Au-Pd/TiO2-NB results in a significant improvement in the visible light-promoted activity compared to the monometallic Au/TiO2-NB sample. It is supposed that the plasmon-mediated charge distribution within the alloy NPs is mainly responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity of the bimetallic nanostructures.
