Abstract
Catalase is a metalloenzyme commonly found in almost all plant and animal tissues and catalyzes the conversion of hydrogen peroxide to less reactive molecules. It is used for the elimination of hydrogen peroxide in biological, biomedical, food and textile applications. For this purpose, a novel affinity sorbent [poly(methacrylic acid- N-isopropyl acrylamide-CB-Fe3+, (p(MAA-NIPAAM)-CB-Fe3+)] for the determination and it was first developed using MAA and NIPAAM monomers. After characterization with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), adsorption parameters were determined. Reusability of p(MAA-NIPAAM)-CB-Fe3+ sorbent was determined after by determining the appropriate desorption agent for desorption of adsorbed catalase in the developed sorbent. It was determined that catalase adsorption could be performed with 0.01 g of sorbent in 45 min. The maximum adsorption capacity for catalase adsorption was determined as 243.17 mg/g with the use of sorbent. The operational and storage stability of the immobilized catalase was found to be high as expected. The conversion of H2O2 can be successfully performed by the immobilized enzyme in the prepared sorbent. It has been proven that the affinity of catalase for its substrate is increased by immobilization.

Abstract
The immobilized metal affinity cryogels based on poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate- co-glycidyl methacrylate) (p(HEMA-GMA)) containing hydroxy and epoxy groups were prepared by free-radical copolymerization under cryogenic condition and then functionalized with iminodiacetic acid and chelated Cu2+, Ca2+, and Fe3+ ions to the p(HEMA-GMA) cryogel. The structures of p(HEMA-GMA) and immobilized metal-affinity cryogels were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. SEM results showed that the prepared cryogels had interconnected pores with the size of 30-100 μm. The performance of water swelling into the cryogels was fitted in Fickian diffusion. The adsorption property of cryogels was influenced by the immobilized ionic type, temperature, and adsorbate. The adsorption capacity of immobilized Cu2+ cryogel (p(HEMA)-Cu2+ (0.5 M) cryogel) was the highest in comparison with that of Ca2+ and Fe3+ affinity cryogels under the same condition. The maximum adsorption capacity of p(HEMA)-Cu2+ (0.5 M) cryogel for porcine pancreatic lipase was 150.14 mg/g at a higher temperature of 35 °C, whereas for bovine serum albumin, the maximum adsorption capacity was 154.11 mg/g at a lower temperature of 25 °C. The research of thermodynamics and kinetics indicated that the mechanism of the protein adsorption process corresponded to the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model.

Isothermal Adsorption Properties for the Adsorption and Removal of Reactive Blue 221 Dye from Aqueous Solutions by Cross-Linked β-Chitosan Glycan as Acid-Resistant Adsorbent. Abstract
Dye effluent causes serious pollution and damage to the environment and needs a series of treatments before it can be discharged. Among the numerous effluent treatment methods, adsorption is the simplest and does not cause secondary pollution. Bio-adsorbents are especially advantageous in the treatment of low-concentration dye effluent. In this study, the adsorption and removal capacities of unmodified α- and β-chitosan and modified β-chitosan (β-chitosan cross-linked with triethylenetetramine, BCCT) on C.I. Reactive Blue 221 (RB221) dye were compared. The experiments were performed on the adsorption of the RB221 dye by unmodified α- and β-chitosan and cross-linkage⁻modified BCCT at different temperatures and for different durations, which are presented along with the relevant adsorption kinetics calculations. According to the results, as the temperature increased from 303 to 333 K, the initial adsorption rates of the adsorbents, α-chitosan, β-chitosan, and BCCT, for the RB221 dye, changed from 1.01 × 10², 4.74 × 10², and 1.48 × 10⁶ mg/g min to 5.98 × 10⁴, 4.23 × 10⁸, and 1.52 × 1013 mg/g min, respectively. BCCT thus showed the best adsorption for the dye at all temperatures from the Elovich model. These results confirmed the successful introduction of a polyaminated and cross-linked extended structure as a modification for the BCCT adsorbent, which makes it resistant to acid hydrolysis and gives it the functional amine group for dye adsorption, thereby promoting the ability of BCCT to adsorb dyes under strongly acidic conditions. The compound synthesized in this study is expected to be a good choice in the future for purifying strongly acidic effluent containing anionic organic dyes.

Abstract
In this presented study, a novel molecularly imprinted polymeric hydrogel membranes (PHMs) were developed to use for the albumin depletion studies. For this, albumin imprinted poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-N-methacryloyl-(L)-phenylalanine methyl ester) polymeric hydrogel membranes [p(HEMA-MAP) PHMs] were synthesized by the photopolymerization technique, and then characterized by SEM, EDX, FT-IR and swelling studies. Synthesized PHMs had spherical structure and the MAP monomer incorporation onto the PHMs was determined by EDX analysis by using nitrogen stoichiometry. Also, the swelling ratio of the albumin imprinted p(HEMA-MAP) PHMs was determined as 215%. The optimum albumin adsorption condition (adsorption capacity, medium pH, adsorption rate, temperature, ionic strength) were studied and the maximum albumin adsorption capacity was found to be as 34.28 mg/g PHMs. Selectivity experiments were also carried out with the presence of the competitive proteins such as lysozyme and amylase, and the results demonstrated that the albumin imprinted p(HEMA-MAP) PHMs showed high affinity towards the BSA molecules than the competitive proteins of lysozyme and amylase. Adsorbed albumin was desorbed from the PHMs by 1.0 M of NaCl, and the reusability of the imprinted PHMs was also demonstrated for five successive adsorption-desorption cycles without any significant loss in the albumin adsorption capacity. As an application, sodium-dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was used to indicate the albumin depletion efficiency of albumin imprinted p(HEMA-MAP) PHMs. This presented study showed that, these imprinted membranes are promising for proteomic studies and applications, and can be used for the investigations for human diagnostics.
