Abstract
A 42-year-old woman visited our hospital with complaints of fever, muscle pain, and dyspnea one week after receiving the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine. Chest high-resolution computed tomography showed a patchy consolidation and ground-glass attenuation in the both lungs, consistent with acute interstitial pneumonia. Transbronchial lung cryobiopsy revealed organizing pneumonia with marked intra-alveolar fibrin, and pathologically diagnosed as acute fibrinous organizing pneumonia (AFOP). Other causative diseases such as dermatomyositis was clinically ruled out, and COVID-19 vaccine-induced AFOP was diagnosed. Physician should check the history of COVID-19 vaccination when encountering a case of AFOP with an unknown cause.

Abstract
An 82-year-old man diagnosed with interstitial lung disease through computed tomography (CT) 1 year prior received a bivalent (tozinameran and famtozinameran) mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. He developed respiratory symptoms 1.5 months later, and chest high-resolution CT revealed new ground-glass opacities showing traction bronchiectasis. Transbronchial lung cryobiopsy revealed organizing acute lung injury and fibrosis with architectural destruction. The patient was diagnosed with an acute exacerbation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF). The bivalent mRNA COVID-19 vaccination was determined as the cause of the AE-IPF based on detailed medical history and examination findings. High-dose corticosteroid therapy improved the patient's symptoms and radiological findings.

Abstract
In China, the emergence of a nationally widespread epidemic infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) has appeared within a month since December 7, 2022. To evaluate the risk factors for suffering from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia due to infection with SARS-CoV-2 in different kinds of interstitial lung disease (ILD) patients with diverse immunizations, we conducted this retrospective study on 525 patients with ILDs who underwent regular follow-up in our ILD clinic. Among them, 128 ILD patients (24.4%) suffered from COVID-19 pneumonia after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Patients were older with a male predominance in the pneumonia group than in the nonpneumonia group (65.0 ± 10.0 years vs. 56.4 ± 11.7 years, p < 0.001, 55.5% vs. 39.5%, p = 0.002, respectively). Connective tissue disease-associated ILD (CTD-ILD) (25%), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (23.4%), and interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (21.1%) were the main pre-existing ILDs in the pneumonia group. In Cox multivariable analysis, only male sex and corticosteroid use were risk factors for COVID-19 pneumonia after infection. Two or three doses of vaccination were a protective factor for pre-existing ILD patients suffering from COVID-19 pneumonia. More than two doses of vaccination were strongly recommended for pre-existing ILD patients, particularly for males who were administered corticosteroids.

Strictinin, a Major Ingredient in Yunnan Kucha Tea Possessing Inhibitory Activity on the Infection of Mouse Hepatitis Virus to Mouse L Cells. Molecules 2023; 28:molecules28031080. Abstract
Theacrine and strictinin of Yunnan Kucha tea prepared from a mutant variety of wild Pu'er tea plants were two major ingredients responsible for the anti-influenza activity. As the COVID-19 outbreak is still lurking, developing safe and cost-effective therapeutics is an urgent need. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of these tea compounds on the infection of mouse hepatitis virus (MHV), a β-coronavirus serving as a surrogate for SARS-CoV. Treatment with strictinin (100 μM), but not theacrine, completely eliminated MHV infection, as indicated by a pronounced reduction in plaque formation, nucleocapsid protein expression, and progeny production of MHV. Subsequently, a time-of-drug addition protocol, including pre-, co-, or post-treatment, was exploited to further evaluate the possible mechanism of antiviral activity mediated by strictinin, and remdesivir, a potential drug for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2, was used as a positive control against MHV infection. The results showed that all three treatments of remdesivir (20 μM) completely blocked MHV infection. In contrast, no significant effect on MHV infection was observed when cells were pre-treated with strictinin (100 μM) prior to infection, while significant inhibition of MHV infection was observed when strictinin was introduced upon viral adsorption (co-treatment) and after viral entry (post-treatment). Of note, as compared with the co-treatment group, the inhibitory effect of strictinin was more striking in the post-treatment group. These results indicate that strictinin suppresses MHV infection by multiple mechanisms; it possibly interferes with viral entry and also critical step(s) of viral infection. Evidently, strictinin significantly inhibited MHV infection and might be a suitable ingredient for protection against coronavirus infection.
