Abstract
Enantioseparation of the newly synthesized series of novel quinoline-2(1H)-one epoxide structures rac-6a-c and rac-8a-c, named marinoepoxides, is described. Marinoepoxide rac-6a, the key intermediate in the total synthesis of natural products marinoaziridines A and B, as well as their structural analogues, was synthesized by addition of the achiral ylide generated in situ from the sulfonium salt 5 or 7, to the carbon-oxygen double bond of the corresponding quinoline-2(1H)-one-4-carbaldehyde 4a-c in good yield. Separation of enantiomers of (±)-2,3,3-trisubstituted marinoepoxides rac-6a-c and (±)-trans-2,3-disubstituted marinoepoxides rac-8a-c was studied using two immobilized polysaccharide type chiral stationary phases (CSPs); tris-(3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamoyl)cellulose stationary phase (CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SC) and tris-(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamoyl)amylose stationary phase (CHIRAL ART Amylose-SA). Enantioseparation conditions were explored by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using dimethyl carbonate/alcohol mixtures and n-hexane/ethanol (80/20, v/v) as mobile phase, and by supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) using CO2/alcohol mixtures as mobile phase. In all examined racemates, enantioseparation was successfully achieved, but its efficiency largely depended on the structure of chiral selector and type/composition of the mobile phase.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Today, it is well accepted that the quantitative measurement of anti-cancer drugs in human biological samples requires the development and validation of efficient bioanalytical methods. This study attempts to provide a high-capacity and thermo-sensitive nano-adsorbent for bicalutamide extraction from human biological fluids. MAIN METHODS AND MAJOR RESULTS In this study, five generations of thermo-sensitive dendrimers were synthesized onto the surface of WS2 nano-sheets. After drug-loading process from body fluids, the near-infrared (NIR) light (at 808 nm) was applied and light-to-heat conversion by the WS2 nano-sheets led to shrinkage in polymer chains, resulting the release of the entrapped drug. Finally, the extracted drug was analyzed via HPLC-UV system (at 270 nm). The final nano-adsorbent was described via FE-SEM, XRD, FT-IR, and TGA techniques. The adsorption isotherm data were well fitted by Langmuier isotherm model (R2 = 0.9978). The mean recoveries for spiking bicalutamide at three different concentrations in plasma and urine samples were 92.12% and 94.54% under the NIR light irradiation. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS We have developed a smart strategy to analyze bicalutamide in biological samples using near-infrared light irradiation in a controlled manner. All the results indicate the promising application of the proposed method for the extraction and determination of bicalutamide.

Abstract
A high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS) method was established for the separation and determination of acetyl-glutamine enantiomers (acetyl-L-glutamine and acetyl-D-glutamine) simultaneously. Baseline separation was achieved on Chiralpak AD-H column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 µm). n-Hexane (containing 0.1% acetic acid) and ethanol (75:25, v/v) were used as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.6 mL/min. The detection was operated in the negative ion mode with an ESI source. [M-H]−m/z 187.0540 for enantiomers and [M-H]−m/z 179.0240 for aspirin (IS) were selected as detecting ions. The linear range of the calibration curve for each enantiomer was 0.05–40 µg/mL. The precision of this method at concentrations of 0.5–20 µg/mL was within 7.23%, and the accuracy was 99.81%–107.81%. The precision at LOQ (0.05 µg/mL) was between 16.28% and 17.56%, which was poor than that at QC levels. The average extraction recovery was higher than 85% for both enantiomers at QC levels. The pharmacokinetics of enantiomers was found to be stereoselective. There was not chiral inversion in vivo or in vitro between enantiomers.
