Abstract
Background The effect of prior rotator cuff repair (RCR) on clinical outcomes after total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) is unclear. Purpose To systematically review the literature to compare the outcomes of TSA in patients with and without prior RCR. Study Design Systematic review; Level of evidence, 4. Methods A systematic review was performed using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines by searching the PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase databases to identify studies comparing outcomes of TSA with and without prior RCR. The inclusion criteria were full-text studies that directly compared outcomes between patients undergoing anatomic or reverse TSA with and without prior RCR. A quality assessment was performed using the Modified Coleman Methodology Score (MCMS), and risk of bias assessment was performed using the Risk Of Bias In Non-randomized Studies-of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool. A total of 1542 articles were identified for review based on initial database queries. Weighted means of quantifiable demographics and patient-reported outcomes were calculated for all included studies and compiled, in addition to the MCMS and ROBINS-I tool. Results Twelve studies (10 level 3, 2 level 4) met inclusion criteria, including a total of 885 patients who underwent RCR before TSA (mean age, 68.2 years) and 2275 patients with no prior RCR (mean age, 70.0 years). Of all outcomes evaluated, patients with reverse TSA showed superior results in the no prior RCR group. Three reverse TSA studies found the no prior RCR group to have significantly higher postoperative American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons scores when compared with the prior RCR group (P < .05). Multiple reverse TSA studies found the no prior RCR group to have significantly higher postoperative Simple Shoulder Test scores (P < .05) and significantly improved forward elevation (P < .05) when compared with the prior RCR group. Of all outcomes in anatomic TSA studies, only complication rate was different between groups, with 1 study finding a significantly lower complication rate in the no prior RCR group (P = .01). Conclusion Patients undergoing reverse TSA without prior RCR can be expected to experience statistically better outcomes when compared with patients with prior RCR, while patients undergoing anatomic TSA can be expected to have similar outcomes regardless of prior RCR status.

Abstract
Rotator cuff arthropathy is a spectrum of disease states secondary to full-thickness cuff tears classified by rotator cuff insufficiency and degenerative disease within the shoulder joint. Diagnosis can be made through standard physical exam and radiographic films demonstrating varying levels of weakness, along with acetabularization, femoralization, and superior migration of the humeral head. Severity of disease is classified through both the Hamada and Seebauer grading systems, which are used clinically to determine the appropriate treatment algorithm. Treatment exists along the spectrum from conservative therapy with physical therapy to a definitive treatment with total joint replacement. Depending on a patient's progression and other comorbidities, arthroscopic treatments may additionally be used in specific circumstances as joint-sparing techniques. In recent years, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty has produced increasingly favorable outcomes with improvements in pain and function while simultaneously diminishing complication rates, making it generally accepted as standard of care. This disease limits quality of life for a large population of patients and efforts toward optimization of the treatment regimen is critical. This review provides an overview on the diagnostic criteria, classification, pathoanatomic changes, biomechanics, treatment options, outcomes, and complications of rotator cuff arthropathy.

Abstract
Background This review aims to describe the origin and development of critical shoulder angle (CSA) and its correlation with different shoulder pathologies. Current literature is inconclusive in characterizing the role of CSA in predicting pathology and surgical outcomes. Methods A literature search of both historical and more contemporary research articles on CSA was conducted to compare data points on the impact of CSA on shoulder pathology and postoperative clinical outcomes. This compilation of studies ranges from retrospective reviews to case series as well as cadaveric imaging studies. Results The CSA is a reliable radiographic measure in predicting shoulder pathology in correctly oriented radiographs. Surgically modifying the CSA with arthroscopic lateral acromioplasty and results has largely shown improved recovery of strength postoperatively as with no increase in postsurgical complication rates. However, it remains unclear whether surgical alteration of CSA has a role in preventing clinical failure after arthroscopic procedures such as acromioplasty and rotator cuff repair as well as following shoulder arthroplasty. Discussion Stronger conclusions regarding the prognostic utility of CSA are limited by the fact that most studies evaluating CSA are smaller retrospective cohorts. Moving forward, randomized controlled trials being conducted may offer greater insight as to how CSA can improve patient-reported outcomes postoperatively.

Abstract
PURPOSE Four joint arthroplasty registries (JARs) levels exist based on the recorded data type. Level I JARs are national registries that record primary data. Hospital or institutional JARs (Level II-IV) document further data (patient-reported outcomes, demographic, radiographic). A worldwide list of Level II-IV JARs must be created to effectively assess and categorize these data. METHODS Our study is a systematic scoping review that followed the PRISMA guidelines and included 648 studies. Based on their publications, the study aimed to map the existing Level II-IV JARs worldwide. The secondary aim was to record their lifetime, publications' number and frequency and recognise differences with national JARs. RESULTS One hundred five Level II-IV JARs were identified. Forty-eight hospital-based, 45 institutional, and 12 regional JARs. Fifty JARs were found in America, 39 in Europe, nine in Asia, six in Oceania and one in Africa. They have published 485 cohorts, 91 case-series, 49 case-control, nine cross-sectional studies, eight registry protocols and six randomized trials. Most cohort studies were retrospective. Twenty-three per cent of papers studied patient-reported outcomes, 21.45% surgical complications, 13.73% postoperative clinical and 5.25% radiographic outcomes, and 11.88% were survival analyses. Forty-four JARs have published only one paper. Level I JARs primarily publish implant revision risk annual reports, while Level IV JARs collect comprehensive data to conduct retrospective cohort studies. CONCLUSIONS This is the first study mapping all Level II-IV JARs worldwide. Most JARs are found in Europe and America, reporting on retrospective cohorts, but only a few report on studies systematically.
