Abstract
The study investigates the potential of Cupressus sempervirens (EO) as a sustainable and eco-friendly inhibitor of copper corrosion in a 0.5 M sulfuric acid medium. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analysis shows that the effectiveness of corrosion inhibition rises with increasing inhibitor concentrations, reaching 94% with the application of 2 g/L of EO, and potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) studies reveal that EO functions as a mixed-type corrosion inhibitor. In addition, the Langmuir adsorption isotherm is an effective descriptor of its adsorption. Scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy surface examination, and contact angle measurement indicate that EO may form a barrier layer on the metal surface. Density functional theory calculations, Monte Carlo simulation models, and the radial distribution function were also used to provide a more detailed understanding of the corrosion protection mechanism. Overall, the findings suggest that Cupressus sempervirens (EO) has the potential to serve as an effective and sustainable corrosion inhibitor for copper in a sulfuric acid medium, contributing to the development of green corrosion inhibitors for environmentally friendly industrial processes.

Abstract
Metals stability and corrosion resistance are very important factors that influence the possibility of their applications. In order to study and foresee the behavior of metals during various applications in all kinds of conditions and media, numerous approaches and techniques are developed and applied. Among those techniques, electrochemical measurements nowadays have a dominant role since they are proved to be highly efficient, reliable, fast, relatively low-cost, and easy regarding the preparation and execution of measurements. Besides that, they also provide quite a good amount of data regarding the effect and the mechanism of the reactions that metals interact in. Metals corrosion is reduced by various methods, one of the most frequently used ones is the application of corrosion inhibitors. Usually, organic compounds are studied as potential corrosion inhibitors, and at the moment the focus is on the effect on the environment. Hence, environmentally friendly and non-toxic inhibitors are important research topics. Purines, since they are the group of bioorganic compounds found in numerous biochemical structures such as DNA and RNA, present a very interesting possible solution and are studied as inhibitors of corrosion for copper, steel, aluminum, etc., as well as for some metal alloys. Data obtained and available up until the present are presented and discussed in this review.

Abstract
This paper aims to examine the efficiency of 5-chlorobenzotriazole (5Cl-BTA) as a copper corrosion inhibitor in acidic rain solutions with a pH value of 2.42 by the electrochemical polarization method. 5-Chlorobenzotriazole acts similar to a mixed type inhibitor, according to the potentiodynamic polarization measurements. Results obtained in this research suggest that 5Cl-BTA is a good inhibitor; it decreases anodic and cathodic reaction rates, and the highest inhibition efficiency was 91.2%. The inhibitory effect of 5-chlorobenzotriazole is explained by the formation of the layer on the copper surface. Stability of the protective layer increased with inhibitor concentration. Scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive analysis of X-rays analysis confirmed that on the electrode surface, a protective layer was formed. Adsorption of 5Cl-BTA obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. 5Cl-BTA showed good inhibitory characteristics even when the Cl- ions were present in examined solutions.

Abstract
Titanium is one of the most used biomaterials for different applications. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of adenine, thymine, and l-histidine as important biomolecules in the human body on the corrosion behavior of titanium in simulated body solutions. Open circuit measurements, potentiodynamic measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements, and quantum chemical calculations were employed during the investigation. All electrochemical methods used revealed that the investigated biomolecules provide better corrosion resistance to titanium in artificial body solutions. The increase in corrosion resistance is a result of the formation of a stable protective film on the metal surface. Also, quantum chemical calculations are in compliance with electrochemical test results and indicate that adenine, thymine, and l-histidine may act as corrosion inhibitors in the investigated solutions.

Abstract
The inhibitive properties of four indazole-based compounds (IA, 4-FIA, 4-CIA, and 4-BIA) on copper corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution were investigated using electrochemical measurements, surface characterization techniques and molecular modelling methods. Electrochemical tests indicate that the inhibition efficiencies increase with incremental concentration and all halogeno-substituted indazoles (HIAs) possess superior inhibitive ability to native IA. The specific rating of inhibition performance obeys the order: IA < 4-FIA < 4-BIA < 4-CIA. All inhibition efficiencies of HIAs obtained were over 96% in 1 mM, especially, 4-CIA reaches 99.6%. Moreover, the corresponding inhibition mechanism was elucidated via quantum chemical calculations allied to molecular dynamics simulation. In summary, the present study can help us to gain insight into the effect of halogeno-substitution on the inhibition efficiency of the IA molecule. The inhibitive properties of four indazole-based compounds on copper corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution were investigated using electrochemical measurements and molecular modelling methods.![]()

Abstract
1-Hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole (HOAT) was explored via experimental and theoretical computation methods as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M sulfuric acid. These data indicate that HOAT has good ability to suppress corrosion of the mild steel, with ideal agreement with between experimental and computational results. Besides, the electrochemical experiments show that HOAT is a mixed-type corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M H2SO4. Furthermore, HOAT adsorption on the surface of steel conforms to the Langmuir isotherm model. Finally, computational simulation was executed to deeply investigate the mechanism to HOAT inhibition corrosion of steel. 1-Hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole (HOAT) was explored via experimental and theoretical computation methods as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M sulfuric acid.![]()
