Abstract
A new set of solute parameters derived from a correlation model using Catalan parameters. The parameters represent the interaction of the solute with the mono-solvents at 298.15K. The computational procedure was adopted from Abraham's solvation model and the obtained results are promising. In this work, the calculated parameters were used to back-calculate the drugs solubility in various mono-solvents at different temperatures employing the van't Hoff's model as the skeleton on the derived model. The obtained mean percentage deviations (MPDs) were in the range of 3.1 to 88.5% with the overall MPD of 29.1%. (1) Derivation of a new set of solute parameters from a correlation model using Catalan parameters; (2) adoption of the calculation method of Abraham's solvation model with the skeleton of van't Hoff's equation; (3) using the achieved parameters for back-calculation of drugs solubility in various mono-solvents; (4) obtaining an overall acceptable mean percentage deviation of 29.1% from calculations.

Molecules 2023; 28:molecules28062768. Abstract
In recent years, the wine industry has shown a considerable degree of interest in the occurrence of melatonin in wines. Sample pretreatment may be the most important step in trace analysis. Since wine is a complex matrix and melatonin is present in low amounts (ppb), an adequate extraction technique is required. In this study, the effect of several extraction methods, such as solid phase extraction (SPE), Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe extraction (QuEChERS), and dispersive liquid-liquid micro-extraction (DLLME) was studied and the variable parameters that can arise throughout the extraction process were optimized to obtain the best results. A high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detector (HPLC-FL) method was adapted and validated, including measurement uncertainty, for the analysis of melatonin in wines and to assess the efficiency of the extraction yield. After comparing the acquired results, the DLLME method was optimized. Extraction recoveries values ranging from 95 to 104% demonstrated that the approach may be successfully applied for the extraction and concentration (enrichment factor of almost eight) of melatonin in wine samples prior to HPLC-FL analysis. The first report of melatonin levels in Feteasca Neagra wines has been made. The data obtained for Cabernet Sauvignon revealed that the final levels of melatonin in the wines are dependent on the winemaking process.

Abstract
The solubility data of gliclazide in 10 mono-solvents (1,2-dichloroethane, 1,4-dioxane, 2-methoxyethanol, n-propyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, n-butyl acetate, pentyl acetate, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA), and 2-butanone) and one kind of binary solvent (DMA + water) were measured between 278.15 and 323.15 K under atmospheric pressure by the gravimetric method. The Hansen solubility parameters and the KAT-LSER equation were used to investigate the solubility order and the influence of solvent effects on solubility. The experimental data were correlated by six thermodynamic models (the λh model, the Yaws model, the Apelblat model, the Jouyban model, the modified Jouyban-Acree model, and the Sun model). The results show that all of these models can correlate the experimental data well. Among them, the Apelblat model is the most suitable for correlating the solubility data of gliclazide in mono-solvents and binary solvents.

Abstract
The solubility of dehydroabietic acid in (-)-α-pinene, p-cymene, (-)-β-caryophyllene, (-)-α-pinene + p-cymene, (-)-β-caryophyllene + p-cymene and (-)-α-pinene + (-)-β-caryophyllene were determined using the laser monitoring method at atmospheric pressure. The solubility of dehydroabietic acid was positively correlated with temperature from 295.15 to 339.46 K. (-)-α-pinene, p-cymene, and (-)-β-caryophyllene were found to be suitable for the solubilization of dehydroabietic acid. In addition, the non-random two liquid (NRTL), universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC), modified Apelblat, modified Wilson, modified Wilson-van't Hoff, and λh models were applied to correlate the determined solubility data. The modified Apelblat model gave the minor deviation for dehydroabietic acid in monosolvents, while the λh equation showed the best result in the binary solvents. A comparative analysis of compatibility between solutes and solvents was carried out using Hansen solubility parameters. The thermodynamic functions of ΔsolH0, ΔsolS0, ΔsolG0 were calculated according to the van't Hoff equation, indicating that the dissolution was an entropy-driven heat absorption process. The Conductor-like Screening Model for Real Solvents (COSMO-RS) combined with an experimental value was applied to predict the reasonable solubility data of dehydroabietic acid in the selected solvents systems. The interaction energy of the dehydroabietic acid with the solvent was analyzed by COSMO-RS.

Abstract
AbstractLiterature solubilities have been used to obtain properties or descriptors of melatonin. These indicate the chemical nature of melatonin: it is dipolar and has moderate hydrogen bond acidity and hydrogen bond basicity. The descriptors can be combined with equations that we have previously constructed to estimate water–solvent partition coefficients and solubilities in a huge number of organic solvents. In the same way, a range of biological properties can be estimated. These include blood–tissue partitions, water–skin partition and permeability through skin.
