Abstract
Novel styryl colorants based on anchoring methoxy with anthracene as a donor linked with various active methylene acceptor groups to derive a conjugated π-system along with push-pull geometry were synthesized and well characterized. Photophysical properties were studied in different polarity solvents. The impact of solvent polarizability is delivered in redshifts in absorption and emission spectra, in addition to enhancing the quantum yield. The benzoxazole and benzimidazole moieties in 4c and 4d demonstrated heat stability of more than 300 °C. Fluorescent intensity is directly proportional to the viscosity and 4a demonstrates a notable viscosity sensor through 1.36 fold increase in intensity. In comparison to other styryl dyes, 4c and 4d were shown to have higher values in DMSO for polarizability (53.3496 × 10-24 esu and 53.7459 × 10-24 esu) and first-order hyperpolarizability (86.3467 × 10-30 esu and 89.1941 × 10-30 esu) as well as second-order hyperpolarizability (1768.9121 × 10-36 esu and 1740.6940 × 10-36 esu) due to presence of heterocyclic character. NLO properties of all the styryl dyes 4a-4e are within the fundamental boundary limits. The 4d (benzoxazole) dye exhibited a small HOMO-LUMO energy gap of 2.8825 eV, whereas the 4b and 4e dyes had a larger band gap due to the presence of a carbonyl group.

Abstract
In the present work the two new Cu(II) complexes, (µ-acetato)-bis(2,2'-bipyridine)-copper [Cu(bpy)2(CH3CO2)] and bromidotetrakis(2-methyl-1H-imidazole)-copper bromide [Cu(2-methylimid)4Br]Br have been synthesized by liquid assisted mechanochemical method. The [Cu(bpy)2(CH3CO2)] complex (1) and [Cu(2-methylimid)4Br]Br complex (2) characterised by IR and UV-visible spectroscopy and the structure are confirmed by XRD diffraction studies. Complex (1) crystallized in the Monoclinic with the space group of C2/c where a = 24.312(5) Å, b = 8.5892(18) Å, c = 14.559(3) Å, α = 90°, β = 106.177(7)° and γ = 90° and Complex (2) crystallized in the Tetragonal with the space group of P4nc, a = 9.9259(2) Å, b = 9.9259(2) Å, c = 10.9357(2) Å, α = 90°, β = 90° and γ = 90°. The complex (1) has distorted octahedral geometry where the acetate ligand showed bidentate bridging with the central metal ion and complex (2) has slightly deformed square pyramidal geometry. The HOMO-LUMO energy gap value and the low chemical potential showed that the complex (2) is stable and difficult to polarize compare to complex (1). The molecular docking study of complexes with the HIV instasome nucleoprotein showed the binding energy values - 7.1 and - 5.3 kcal/mol for complex (1) and complex (2) respectively. The negative binding energy values showed the complexes have affinity to bind with HIV instasome nucleoproteins. The in-silico pharmacokinetic study of the complex (1) and complex (2) showed non AMES toxicity, non-carcinogens and low honey Bee toxicity but weakly inhibit Human Ether-a-go-go-related gene.

Abstract
Herein, we report the hydroxybenzazole (HBX) containing azo dyes for "linear and non-linear optical" (NLO) applications. These bi-heterocyclic dyes have HBX scaffold (decorated with ESIPT core) and connected to another thiazole moietiy through azo bond. In DMF and DMSO, dyes are "emissive in yellow-red region" and "large Stokes shift" in the range of 62-121 nm were observed. "Nonlinear absorptive coefficient" (β), "nonlinear refractive index" (ƞ2), "third order non-linear optical susceptibility" (χ3) in DMSO, ethanol and methanol were calculated using simple and effective "Z-scan technique" having "Nd: YAG laser" at 532 nm wavelength. 4.46 × 10-13 (e.s.u.) was the highest (χ3) was observed in DMSO among all the dyes. Optical Limiting (OL) values are in the range of 7.61-19.06 J cm-2 in solvents. Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) supports that, these compounds are useful for numerous high-temperature practices in the construction of electronic as well as optical devices. Band gap was calculated by CV as well as by DFT in acetonitrile. The same trend was observed when these HOMO-LUMO gaps were correlated in between CV and DFT. To gain more insights into structural parameters, molecular geometries were optimized at "B3LYP-6-311 + G (d,p)" level of theory. Further, "Molecular Electrostatic Potential" (MEP), "Frontier Molecular Orbitals" (FMO) were presented using "Density Functional Theory (DFT)". Global hybrid functional (B3LYP, BHandHLYP) and range separated hybrid functionals (RSH) i.e. CAM-B3LYP, ωB97, ωB97X, and ωB97XD were used to calculate linear and NLO properties. Graphical Abstract.

Abstract
Disperse azo dyes are synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, LC-MS, Elemental analysis, UV-visible, and fluorescence spectroscopy methods. The azo dyes show absorption maxima in the range of 460-493 nm. Dye with benzothiazole moiety i.e. VM7a and VM8a show a bathochromic shift in absorption maxima of 90 and 26 nm respectively in a polar aprotic solvent (i.e. DMF, DMSO). The dyes show deep red emission in a polar aprotic solvent (i.e. DMF, DMSO) with a Stokes shift of 62 to 180 nm. The dyes are applied on polyester fabric and the dyed fabric exhibit excellent to a good wash and sublimation fastness property. They show a very good UPF rating and almost blocking 95 to 98% of harmful UV radiation. Antibacterial activity of dyed polyester fabric is assessed qualitatively and quantitatively by using AATCC 147 and 100 test method respectively. The dyed fabrics exhibit excellent antibacterial activities against S.aureus (Gram-positive) and K. pneumoniae (Gram-negative). DFT method was used to identify the stable conformer. HOMO-LUMO gap and global reactivity descriptors were calculated using DFT method and correlated with antibacterial activities and light fastness properties respectively.
