Abstract
This study aimed to create an innovative acidic nano catalyst capable of producing pyrimido[4,5-b]quinolines under environmentally friendly conditions. To achieve this objective, 1,3-benzenedisulfonyl amide (BDSA) was immobilized onto the surface of magnetic graphene oxide (GO/Fe3O4@PTRMS@BDSA@SO3H), and its surface was acidified using chlorosulfonic acid. The synthesized catalyst's structure was thoroughly examined and verified through various analyses, including FTIR, EDX, elemental mapping, FESEM, XRD, TGA, and DSC. This novel nano catalyst exhibited exceptional activity and selectivity in synthesizing pyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline derivatives under solvent-free conditions, at low temperatures, and with high efficiency. Its catalytic effectiveness stemmed from features such as easy and eco-friendly synthesis methods, abundant accessible catalytic sites, a high surface area, remarkable selectivity, and facile separation from the reaction medium. Additionally, the catalyst proved to be cost-effective, safe, scalable, and reusable for up to four times.

Abstract
An expeditious, efficient, and environmentally friendly approach has been established for the synthesis of diverse Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives utilizing montmorillonite K-10 as a catalyst in solvent-free conditions. The procedure entails the reaction of methyl arynes as a sustainable surrogate of aryl aldehydes, active methylene compounds, and urea hydrogen peroxide (UHP) as an oxidising agent as well as a source of ammonia under microwave irradiation, facilitated by montmorillonite K-10.

Revisiting Biginelli-like reactions: solvent effects, mechanisms, biological applications and correction of several literature reports. Org Biomol Chem 2024; 22:3630-3651. Abstract
This study critically reevaluates reported Biginelli-like reactions using a Kamlet-Abboud-Taft-based solvent effect model. Surprisingly, structural misassignments were discovered in certain multicomponent reactions, leading to the identification of pseudo three-component derivatives instead of the expected MCR adducts. Attempts to replicate literature conditions failed, prompting reconsideration of the described MCRs and proposed mechanisms. Electrospray ionization (tandem) mass spectrometry, NMR, melting points, elemental analyses and single-crystal X-ray analysis exposed inaccuracies in reported MCRs and allowed for the proposition of a complete catalytic cycle. Biological investigations using both pure and "contaminated" derivatives revealed distinctive features in assessed bioassays. A new cellular action mechanism was unveiled for a one obtained pseudo three-component adduct, suggesting similarity with the known dihydropyrimidinone Monastrol as Eg5 inhibitors, disrupting mitosis by forming monoastral mitotic spindles. Docking studies and RMSD analyses supported this hypothesis. The findings described herein underscore the necessity for a critical reexamination and potential corrections of structural assignments in several reports. This work emphasizes the significance of rigorous characterization and critical evaluation in synthetic chemistry, urging a careful reassessment of reported synthesis and biological activities associated with these compounds.

Abstract
Coumarins (2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones) are an important group of biological heterocyclic compounds present in various parts of many plant species, encompassing an array of biological and pharmaceutical activities. In view of the importance of coumarins in heterocyclic chemistry and biological sciences and recent advances in the design of magnetic nanocatalysts, we present herein recent developments pertaining to their synthesis exclusively using magnetic nanoparticles, which can be retrieved easily and thus conform to the tenets of greener synthesis. The preparation of various types of coumarins such as Pechmann-based coumarins, bis coumarins, pyranocoumarins, and coumarin derivatives bearing amine moiety, linked to nicotinonitriles, N-coumarin-2-furanone, and pyrrole-linked chromene derivatives using nanocatalysts with a Fe3O4 core are described. This review covers the synthetic developments in the recent years 2012-2021 and focuses entirely on the synthesis of coumarins in the presence of magnetic nanocatalysts using greener approaches such as solvent-free conditions or deploying alternative activation methods, namely microwave or ultrasound irradiation.

Abstract
We report a highly efficient green protocol for developing a novel library of 1,2,4-triazole-tagged 1,4-dihydropyridine analogs through the one-pot process from the four-component fusion of the 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine with different chosen aldehydes, diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, and active methylene compounds in a water medium under microwave irradiation and catalyst-free conditions. Excellent yields (94-97%) of the target products were achieved with high selectivity with a short reaction time (<12 min) at room temperature. The structures of the synthesized pyrimidine analogs were established by NMR and HRMS spectroscopic analysis. Simple workup, impressive yields, no column chromatography, green solvent, rapid reaction, and excellent functional group tolerance are the benefits of this protocol.
