Abstract
Postmenopausal osteoporosis stands as the predominant bone disorder in the developed world, posing a significant public health challenge. Nutritional factors play a crucial role in bone health and may contribute to its prevention or treatment. Calcium and vitamin D, extensively studied with robust scientific evidence, are integral components of the non-pharmacological treatment for this disorder. Nevertheless, other less-explored nutritional elements appear to influence bone metabolism. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the latest evidence concerning the relationship between various nutrients, such as phosphorus, magnesium, vitamins, phytate, and phytoestrogens; specific foods like dairy or soy, and dietary patterns such as the Mediterranean diet with bone health and osteoporosis.

Abstract
The integrated repair of cartilage and bone involves the migration and differentiation of cells, which has always been a difficult problem to be solved. We utilize the natural biomaterial gelatin to construct gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA), a hydrogel scaffold with high cell affinity. GelMA is mixed with different components to print a bi-layer porous hydrogel scaffold with different modulus and composition in upper and lower layers through three-dimensional (3D) printing technology. The upper scaffold adds black phosphorus (BP) and human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUMSCs) exosomes (exos) in GelMA, which has a relatively lower elastic modulus and is conducive to the differentiation of BMSCs into cartilage. In the lower scaffold, in addition to BP and hUMSCs exos,β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), which has osteoconductive and osteoinductive effects, is added to GelMA. The addition ofβ-TCP significantly enhances the elastic modulus of the hydrogel scaffold, which is conducive to the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).In vitroexperiments have confirmed that the bi-layer scaffolds can promote osteogenesis and chondrogenic differentiation respectively. And in the rabbit cartilage-bone injury model, MRI and micro-CT results show that the 3D printed bi-layer GelMA composite scaffold has a repair effect close to normal tissue.

Abstract
The consumption of ultra-processed food (UPF) keeps rising, and at the same time, an increasing number of epidemiological studies are linking high rates of consumption of UPF with serious health outcomes, such as cardiovascular disease, in the general population. Many potential mechanisms, either in isolation or in combination, can explain the negative effects of UPF. In this review, we have addressed the potential role of inorganic phosphate additives, commonly added to a wide variety of foods, as factors contributing to the negative effects of UPF on cardiorenal disease. Inorganic phosphates are rapidly and efficiently absorbed, and elevated serum phosphate can lead to negative cardiorenal effects, either directly through tissue/vessel calcification or indirectly through the release of mineral-regulating hormones, parathyroid hormone, and fibroblast growth factor-23. An association between serum phosphate and cardiovascular and bone disease among patients with chronic kidney disease is well-accepted by nephrologists. Epidemiological studies have demonstrated an association between serum phosphate and dietary phosphate intake and mortality, even in the general American population. The magnitude of the role of inorganic phosphate additives in these associations remains to be determined, and the initial step should be to determine precise estimates of population exposure to inorganic phosphate additives in the food supply.

Abstract
To date, nanomaterials have been widely used for the treatment and diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Amongst various nanomaterials, polymer-based nanomaterials are becoming increasingly popular in nanomedicine due to their functionalised fabrication and easy synthesis, making them biocompatible, cost-effective, biodegradable, and efficient nanocarriers for the delivery of drugs to a specific target cell. They act as photothermal reagents with high absorption in the near-infrared region that can transform near-infrared light into localised heat with fewer side effects, provide easier integration with existing therapies, and offer increased effectiveness. They have been combined with photothermal therapy to understand the chemical and physical activities behind the stimuli-responsiveness of polymer nanomaterials. In this review article, we provide detailed information regarding the recent advances in polymer nanomaterials for the non-invasive photothermal treatment of arthritis. The synergistic effect of polymer nanomaterials and photothermal therapy has enhanced the treatment and diagnosis of arthritis and reduced the side effects of drugs in the joint cavity. In addition, further novel challenges and future perspectives must be resolved to advance polymer nanomaterials for the photothermal therapy of arthritis.

Abstract
Eating behavior interventions are a modifiable risk factor for chronic diseases. The aim of this study was to monitor the intake of selected minerals – calcium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, selenium, and chromium in the diet of premenopausal women (n = 30) and to highlight the possible adverse effects of disbalanced intake of these elements. At the same time, we investigated whether socio-demographic factors and choice of food store have an impact on the intake of these substances. We assessed the intake of selected minerals using three-day nutritional protocols and subsequently processed the data. The participants were women between 40 and 50 years old, from districts of Partizánske and Prievidza, for whom menopause has not yet begun. Women provided information about their place of residence (urban or rural area), type of home they live in (family house or apartment), and the type of food store where they grocery shop. The results indicate an impact of the place of residence: higher intake of zinc (p = 0.012) and selenium (p = 0.020) were observed in the participants from the urban area. The impact of the type of home was proven on the intake of chromium (p = 0.049), copper (p = 0.048), and carbohydrates (p = 0.021) with higher intake in the apartment-dwelling group. The impact of food store choice has not been confirmed. Based on the observed values, we conclude that the observed population might be at a higher risk of skeletal disorders and osteoporosis due to deficient calcium intake and the unfavorable ratio of Ca:P; increased Zn and Se intake levels may stimulate the development of cardiovascular risk factors and may also elevate the risk for type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to compare current measurements of bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine (LS), femoral neck (FN), and total femur (TF) regions with initial values recorded 12 years ago in women from Northwest Mexico, and evaluate their correlation with dietary, anthropometric, and reproductive variables. BMD was assessed by Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Participants were grouped as follows: Nulliparous (G1); women who were mothers 12 years ago (G2); and women who were nulliparous 12 years ago, but are now mothers (G3). In all three groups, current LS BMD was higher than initial (p ≤ 0.05) and current TF BMD in G2 was higher than initial values (p ≤ 0.05). When comparing current FN and TF BMD among the three groups, G2 had higher values than G3 (p ≤ 0.05). G2 also showed higher LS BMD than G1 and G3 (p = 0.006). Age at menarche was inversely-correlated with FN and TF BMD in G1 (p < 0.01), while the body mass index (BMI) correlated positively with all three bone regions in G2 (p < 0.05). This study shows that in women without and with children, age at menarche, BMI, and age were factors associated to BMD in healthy subjects in reproductive age.

Abstract
A summary of systematic reviews and meta-analyses addressing the benefits and risks of dietary protein intakes for bone health in adults suggests that dietary protein levels even above the current RDA may be beneficial in reducing bone loss and hip fracture risk, provided calcium intakes are adequate. Several systematic reviews and meta-analyses have addressed the benefits and risks of dietary protein intakes for bone health in adults. This narrative review of the literature summarizes and synthesizes recent systematic reviews and meta-analyses and highlights key messages. Adequate supplies of dietary protein are required for optimal bone growth and maintenance of healthy bone. Variation in protein intakes within the "normal" range accounts for 2-4% of BMD variance in adults. In older people with osteoporosis, higher protein intake (≥ 0.8-g/kg body weight/day, i.e., above the current RDA) is associated with higher BMD, a slower rate of bone loss, and reduced risk of hip fracture, provided that dietary calcium intakes are adequate. Intervention with dietary protein supplements attenuate age-related BMD decrease and reduce bone turnover marker levels, together with an increase in IGF-I and a decrease in PTH. There is no evidence that diet-derived acid load is deleterious for bone health. Thus, insufficient dietary protein intakes may be a more severe problem than protein excess in the elderly. Long-term, well-controlled randomized trials are required to further assess the influence of dietary protein intakes on fracture risk.
