Abstract
The current study aimed to synthesize new metal coordination complexes with potential biomedical applications. Metal complexes were prepared via the reaction of isatin-N(4)anti- pyrinethiosemicarbazone ligand 1 with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), and Fe(III) ions. The obtained metal complexes 2-12 were characterized using elemental, spectral (1H-NMR, EPR, Mass, IR, UV-Vis) and thermal (TGA) techniques, as well as magnetic moment and molar conductance measurements. In addition, their geometries were studied using EPR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. To evaluate the in vivo anti-cancer activities of these complexes, the ligand 1 and its metal complexes 2, 7 and 9 were tested against solid tumors. The solid tumors were induced by subcutaneous (SC) injection of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) cells in mice. The impact of the selected complexes on the reduction of tumor volume was determined. Also, the expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and cysteine aspartyl-specific protease-7 (caspase-7) in tumor and liver tissues of mice bearing EAC tumor were determined. Moreover, their effects on alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), albumin, and glucose levels were measured. The results revealed that the tested compounds, especially complex 9, reduced tumor volume, inhibited the expression of VEGF, and induced the expression of caspase-7. Additionally, they restored the levels of ALT, AST, albumin, and glucose close to their normal levels. Taken together, our newly synthesized metal complexes are promising anti-cancer agents against solid tumors induced by EAC cells as supported by the inhibition of VEGF and induction of caspase-7.

Abstract
Background & Objective:
Six novel complexes of transition metal namely,
[CoLCl2(H2O)2]0.5H2O, [NiLCl2(H2O)2]0.5H2O, [CuLCl2]0.5H2O, [ZnLCl2], [PdLCl2]H2O and
[CdLCl2]H2O, where L is benzocycloheptenone thiosemicarbazone ligand, have been obtained. The
confirmation of the structures of the obtained metal chelates depends on the different spectral and
physicochemical techniques including CHN analysis, infrared spectra, molar conductivity measurement,
UV-vis, thermogravimetric analysis and magnetic moment. The infrared spectral results ascertained
that the ligand behaved as neutral bidentate connecting the metal centers via N and S atoms of
C=N and C=S groups, respectively.
Methods:
The UV-Vis, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility results implied that the geometrical
structures of the metal chelates are octahedral for Co(II) & Ni(II) complexes, tetrahedral for
Zn(II) & Cd(II) complexes and square planar for Cu(II) & Pd(II) complexes which have been confirmed
by molecular modeling studies.
Conclusion:
Moreover, the mode of interaction between some chosen metal complexes towards SSDNA
has been thoughtful by UV-Vis spectra and viscosity measurements. The value of the intrinsic
binding constant (Kb) for the examined compounds has been found to be lower than the binding affinity
of the classical intercalator ethedium bromide. Also, the viscosity measurements of the complexes
proved that they bind to DNA, most likely, by a non-intercalative mode like H-bonding or electrostatic
interactions.

Abstract
The α-oxidized thioimidates are useful bidentate ligands and are important motifs in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and fungicides. Despite their broad utility, a direct route for their synthesis has been elusive. Herein, we describe a one-step synthesis of N,N-dicarbamoyl 2-iminothioimidates from easily accessible thioacetylenes and commercially available azodicarboxylates (20 examples, ≤99% yield). Additionally, the mechanism of the transformation was extensively explored by variable-temperature NMR, in situ IR, and quantum mechanical simulations. These experiments suggest that the reaction commences with a highly asynchronous [2 + 2] cycloaddition, which leads to a four-membered diazacyclobutene intermediate with a barrier consistent with the observed reaction rate. This intermediate was then isolated for subsequent kinetic measurements, which yielded an experimental barrier within 1 kcal/mol of the calculated barrier for a subsequent 4π electrocyclic ring opening leading to the observed iminothioimidate products. This method represents the first direct route to α-oxidized thioimidates from readily accessible starting materials.

Abstract
The azodye ligand (HL(1)) was synthesized from the coupling of sulfaguanidine diazonium salt with 2,4-dihydroxy-benzaldehyde while the two ligands, HL(2) and HL(3), were prepared by the coupling of sulfadiazine diazonium salt with salicylaldehyde (HL(2)) and 2,4-dihydroxy-benzaldehyde (HL(3)). The prepared ligands were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, (1)H NMR and mass spectra. Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes of the prepared ligands have been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques like IR, UV-Visible as well as magnetic and thermal (TG and DTA) measurements. It was found that all the ligands behave as a monobasic bidentate which coordinated to the metal center through the azo nitrogen and α-hydroxy oxygen atoms in the case of HL(1) and HL(3). HL(2) coordinated to the metal center through sulfonamide oxygen and pyrimidine nitrogen. The applications of the prepared complexes in the oxidative degradation of indigo carmine dye exhibited good catalytic activity in the presence of H2O2 as an oxidant. The reactions followed first-order kinetics and the rate constants were determined. The degradation reaction involved the catalytic action of the azo-dye complexes toward H2O2 decomposition, which can lead to the generation of HO radicals as a highly efficient oxidant attacking the target dye. The detailed kinetic studies and the mechanism of these catalytic reactions are under consideration in our group.

Abstract
The amidation of aliphatic amine with acryloyl chloride in dry benzene as a solvent has been performed. Moreover, the polymer complexes have been prepared and structurally characterized by analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, spectral techniques like IR, UV, NMR, ESR and thermal methods. Acryloyl hydrazine (AH) has been shown to behave as a bidentate ligand via its nitrogen (NH(2) of hydrazine group) and C-O/C=O (acryloyl group) in polymer complexes, all of which exhibit supramolecular architectures assembled through weak interaction including hydrogen bonding and π-π stacking .The magnetic and spectral data indicate a square planar geometry for Cu(2+) complexes and an octahedral geometry for Co(II) and UO(2)(II). The ESR spectral data of the Cu(II) complexes showed that the metal-ligand bonds have considerable covalent character. The thermal stability was investigated using thermogravimetric analysis. The results showed that the polymer complexes are more stable than the homopolymer.

Abstract
A novel (N6O4) macrocyclic ligand (L) and its Cu(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral, thermal (TG/DTG), magnetic, and conductivity measurements. Quantum chemical calculations have also been carried out at B3LYP/6-31+G(d,p) to study the structure of the ligand and one of its complexes. The results show a novel macrocyclic ligand with potential amide oxygen atom, amide and amine nitrogen atoms available for coordination. Distorted square pyramidal ([Cu(L)Cl]Cl·2.5H2O (1), [Cu(L)NO3]NO(3)·3.5H2O (2), and [Cu(L)Br]Br·3H2O (4) and octahedral ([Cu(L)(OAc)2]·5H2O (3)) geometries were proposed. The EPR data of 1, 2, and 4 indicate d1x2(-y)2 ground state of Cu(II) ion with a considerable exchange interaction. The measured cytotoxicity for L and its complexes (1, 2) against three tumor cell lines showed that coordination improves the antitumor activity of the ligand; IC50 for breast cancer cells are ≈8.5, 3, and 4 μg/mL for L and complexes (1) and (2), respectively.
