Abstract
AbstractTrifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride (Tf2O) is utilized as a strong electrophilic activator in a wide range of applications in synthetic organic chemistry, leading to the transient generation of a triflate intermediate. This versatile triflate intermediate undergoes nucleophilic trapping with diverse nucleophiles to yield novel compounds. In this review, we describe the features and applications of triflic anhydride in organic synthesis reported in the past decade, especially in amide, sulfoxide, and phosphorus oxide chemistry through electrophilic activation. Abstract
A regio- and chemoselective preparation of bicyclic alkoxyoxazolium salts from amide derivatives of proline and pipecolic acid by electrophilic amide activation is reported. Mechanistic NMR experiments suggest an unusual role for the base and highlight the effect of substitution pattern of the substrates.

Abstract
A practical intramolecular C-H amidation methodology has been developed using molecular iodine under basic conditions. The required imine substrates were readily obtained by condensation of simple o-phenylenediamine derivatives and aldehydes. The transition-metal-free cyclization reaction described here works well with crude imines and allows for the sequential synthesis of N-protected benzimidazoles without purification of the less stable condensation intermediates. This operationally simple synthetic approach is broadly applicable to a variety of aromatic, aliphatic, and cinnamic aldehydes to produce diverse 1,2-disubstituted benzimidazole derivatives in an efficient and scalable fashion.

Abstract
The direct transformation of common secondary amides into aromatic ketimines and aromatic ketones with C-C bond formation is described. The reaction can also be used for N-deacylation of secondary amides to release amines. This method consists of in situ amide activation with triflic anhydride and intermolecular capture of the resulting highly electrophilic nitrilium intermediate with an arene. The reaction is applicable to various kinds of secondary amides (electrophiles), but only electron-rich and moderately electron-rich arenes can be used as nucleophiles. Thanks to the use of bench stable arenes instead of reactive and basic organometallics as nucleophiles, the reaction proceeded with high chemoselectivity at the secondary amido group in the presence of a series of sensitive functional groups such as aldehyde, ketone, ester, cyano, nitro, and tertiary amido groups. The reaction can be viewed as a Friedel-Crafts-type reaction using secondary amides as acylating agents or as an intermolecular version of the Bischler-Napieralski reaction.

Abstract
Isocyanide insertion: the first rhodium-catalyzed annulation of N -benzoylsulfonamide incorporating with isocyanide via C-H activation is described. The transformation is broadly compatible with N -benzoylsulfonamides bearing various electron-properties as well as isocyanides. From practical point of view, this methodology provides the most straightforward approach to a series of 3-(imino)isoindolinones.

Abstract
The title compound, C15H15NO3, was prepared by stirring benzoyl chloride with 3,5-dimethoxyaniline in dioxane at ambient temperature. The dimethoxyphenyl–amide segment of the molecule is almost planar, with a C—N—C=O torsion angle of −4.1 (4)°. The two benzene rings are inclined at an angle of 76.66 (13)°. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯O interactions generate centrosymmetric dimers..
