Abstract
A highly efficient and regioselective method for constructing functionalized conjugated enals via the Tf2O-mediated tandem reaction of enaminones with thiophenols has been described. Chain products with excellent stereoselectivity could be obtained through substrate regulation. Additionally, a feasible method for synthesizing β-naphthalaldehydes through PhSO2Na/DABCO promoting hydrogen atom transfer process has also been reported here. Mechanism studies have shown that 2-formyl vinyl triflate 8 and sulfonylated enal 9 were the key intermediates in this process.

Abstract
The ring-opening functionalization strategy in tetrahydrofuran (THF) represents an ideal approach to access different valuable structures. Herein, we report different operationally simple, efficient, unique, and practical regioselective heteronucleophilic ring-opening strategies for the THF system. Tf2O, which is a strong electrophilic activator, was found to generate a THF triflate intermediate that triggers the nucleophilicity of nitriles (Nu1) and led to regioselective ring opening in the presence of different nucleophiles (Nu2). Furthermore, the synthesis of different heteronucleophilic ring-opening dimerization products was attributed to the nucleophilicity of Nu2. We also demonstrated that use of borane-tetrahydrofuran (BTHF) can achieve challenging hydride addition in a similar manner.

Abstract
Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride has been widely used in synthetic organic chemistry, not only for the conversion of various oxygen-containing compounds to the triflates, but also for the electrophilic activation and further conversion of amides, sulfoxides, and phosphorus oxides. In recent years, the utilization of Tf2 O as an activator for nitrogen-containing heterocycles, nitriles and nitro groups has become a promising tool for the development of new valuable methods with considerable success. In addition, Tf2 O has been used as an efficient radical trifluoromethylation and trifluoromethylthiolation reagent due to the contained SO2 CF3 fragment, and significant progress has been made in this area. This review summarizes the recent progress in the applications of Tf2 O in the above two aspects, and aims to illustrate the role and potential application of this reagent in organic synthesis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Recently tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiazole derivatives acquired a special attention due to their wide range of pharmacological activities especially the therapeutic activities. Through the market it was found that many pharmacological drugs containing the thiazole nucleus were known. OBJECTIVE This work aimed to synthesize target molecules not only possess anti-tumor activities but also kinase inhibitors. The target molecules were obtained starting from the arylhydrazonocyclohexan-1,3-dione followed by their heterocyclization reactions to produce anticancer target molecules. METHODS The arylhydrazone derivatives 3a-c underwent different heterocyclization reactions to produce thiophene, thiazole, pyrazole and 1,2,4-triazine derivatives. The anti-proliferative activity of twenty six compounds among the synthesized compounds toward the six cancer cell lines namely A549, H460, HT-29, MKN-45, U87MG, and SMMC-7721 was studied. RESULTS Anti-proliferative evaluations, tyrosine and Pim-1 kinase inhibitions were perform for most of the synthesized compounds where the varieties of substituent through the aryl ring and the thiophene moiety afforded compounds with high activities. CONCLUSION The compounds with high anti-proliferative activity towards the cancer cell lines showed that compounds 3b, 3c, 5e, 5f, 8c, 9c, 11c, 12c, 14e, 14f and 16c were the most cytotoxic compounds. Further tests of the latter compounds toward the five tyrosine kinases c-Kit, Flt-3, VEGFR-2, EGFR, and PDGFR and Pim-1 kinase showed that compounds 3c, 5e, 5f, 8c, 9c, 12c, 14e, 14f and 16c were the most potent of the tested compounds toward the five tyrosine kinases and compounds 6d, 11a, 20b and 21e were of the highest inhibitions towards Pim-1 kinase. Pan Assay Interference Compounds (PAINS) for the most cytotoxic compounds showed zero PAINS alert and can be used as lead compounds.

Abstract
An alternative protocol for the B-alkyl Suzuki-Miyaura reaction to produce cyclic α,β-disubstituted enones is reported. The use of β-triflyl enones as coupling partners in lieu of their halogenated analogs provides enhanced substrate stability to light and chromatography without adversely affecting reactivity. This protocol allows efficient access to the synthetically challenging α,β-disubstituted enone motif under mild conditions.

Abstract
A strategy for the direct functionalization strategy of inertial dialkyl phosphonates with hydroxy compounds to afford diverse mixed phosphonates with good yields and functional-group tolerance has been developed. Mechanistic investigations involving both NMR studies and DFT studies suggest that an unprecedented highly reactive PV species (phosphoryl pyridin-1-ium salt), a key intermediate for this new synthetic transformation, is generated in situ from dialkyl phosphonate in the presence of Tf2 O/pyridine.

Abstract
The stereoselective transformation of α-alkoxyacetoaldehydes to the corresponding (Z)-vinyl triflates was achieved by treatment with phenyl triflimide and DBU. The stereochemistry was explained by the "syn-effect," which was attributed primarily to an σ → π* interaction. The β-alkoxy vinyl triflates obtained were applied to the stereoselective synthesis of structurally diverse (Z)-allylic alcohols via transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction and [1,2]-Wittig rearrangement.

Abstract
We report a highly enantioselective intermolecular Heck reaction of alkenyl triflates and acyclic primary or racemic secondary alkenols. The mild reaction conditions permit installation of a wide range of alkenyl groups at positions β, γ, or δ to a carbonyl group in high enantioselectivity. The success of this reaction is attributed to the use of electron-withdrawing alkenyl triflates, which offer selective β-hydride elimination followed by migration of the catalyst through the alkyl chain to give the alkenylated carbonyl products. The synthetic utility of the process is demonstrated by a two-step modification of a reaction product to yield a tricyclic core structure, present in various natural products.
