Abstract
An iodine-catalyzed method has been reported for efficient regioselective C-3 sulfenylation, selenylation, thiocyanation, and selenocyanation of NH-free 7-azaindoles using thiophenols, diselenides, potassium thiocyanates, and selenocyanates, respectively. This approach showcases high efficiency and remarkable versatility, facilitating the synthesis of diverse chalcogenated 7-azaindoles. Additionally, the sulfenylated derivatives have been further diversified to generate a new array of benzothiophene-fused 7-azaindole cores of pharmaceutical interest. The synthetic flexibility of this protocol has been highlighted through the gram-scale synthesis of sulfonylated 7-azaindole-based bioactive 5-HT6 receptor agonists.

Abstract
This paper presents the synthesis and application of a novel catalyst for carbon-carbon bond formations, comprising palladium immobilized on 2-(5-hydroxyquinolin-8-yl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-5-carboxylic acid modified superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Pd@HQBI-SPION). The synthesis involved the attachment of HQBI ligands to SPION using APTES, followed by the immobilization of palladium. Characterization techniques, including FTIR, TEM, and magnetic measurements, confirmed the successful synthesis and structural integrity of Pd@HQBI-SPION. The catalytic activity of Pd@HQBI-SPION was evaluated in various carbon-carbon bond formation reactions, demonstrating high efficiency and reusability. 8 different derivatives bearing several electron withdrawing and electron donating functionalities were used as starting materials and the products were obtained in high isolated yields (75-97%). The catalyst exhibited excellent performance in one-pot synthesis of phenanthroline-dimedone polycyclic derivatives via C-alkylation followed by intramolecular O-alkylation of phenanthroline with dimedone. The products are obtained in high to excellent yields is described. This protocol presents a highly selective synthetic method for the construction of polycyclic aromatic compounds containing nitrogen and oxygen atoms.

Abstract
A practical method to synthesize sulfinate esters from aryl iodides is disclosed. Direct oxidation of thioesters prepared by copper-catalyzed C-S formation of aryl iodides realized the efficient synthesis of sulfinate esters. Due to the good accessibility of aryl iodides, a wide variety of sulfinate esters were prepared from easily available starting materials such as carboxylic acids and anilines.

Abstract
A new direct sulfenylation method of indoles by sodium sulfinates and hydroiodic acid was developed giving variety of 3-sulfenylindoles in high yields under mild conditions without using any catalysts or other additives. Abstract
A convenient method was developed for the preparation of thiolated compounds via a DBU-catalyzed aerobic cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) reaction. The established protocol is environmentally friendly and operationally simple. Substrates like (hetero)aryl acetates, (hetero)aryl ketones, and indoles could be transformed into the corresponding thiolated products in moderate to high yields and further applied in the preparation of bioactive compounds in a prefunctionalization-free manner.

Abstract
A base-free bis-alkyl thiolation reaction of indoles with sulfinothioates under Pummerer-type conditions is described. Sulfinothioates, activated with 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic anhydride, are demonstrated to be an efficient thiolation reagent for wide applications. This approach enabled double C-H thiolation at the C2 and C3 of the indole in one pot. The mechanism studies suggested the thiolation was realized through the sulfoxonium salt rather than sulfenyl carboxylate.

Abstract
A new three-component reaction of 3-oxo-3-arylpropanenitriles with arylsulfonyl hydrazides has been established, and an expanded inventory of 3-aryl-4-(arylthio)-1H-pyrazol-5-amines is synthesized by sequential cyclization and sulfenylation reactions under the action of NIS. In addition to the attractive features of multicomponent reactions, the protocol presents broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance and mild reaction conditions. The utility of this procedure is further established by gram-scale synthesis as well as the diversified transformations of the products to useful compounds.

Abstract
A tetrabutylammonium iodide-mediated direct sulfenylation of arenes with ethyl arylsulfinates in water was developed. Various electron-rich arenes and ethyl arylsulfinates were investigated in the reaction, and a series of aryl sulfides were obtained in excellent yields. The advantages of this green protocol were simple reaction conditions (metal-free, water as the solvent, and under air), odorless and easily available sulfur reagent, broad substrate scope, and gram-scale synthesis. Moreover, the potential application of aryl sulfides was exemplified by further transformations.

Abstract
A facile synthetic method for the preparation of allyl sulfoxides by S-allylation of sulfinate esters proceeds through sulfonium intermediates without [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement and further Pummerer-type reactions of the resulting allyl sulfoxides. On the basis of the plausible reaction mechanism involving sulfonium salt intermediates, S-alkynylation and S-arylation were also accomplished.
