Abstract
The Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction of (R)-1-((R)-1-phenylethyl)aziridine-2-carbaldehyde with alkyl acrylate was carried out under various conditions by changing solvents, bases, and alcohol additives. The reaction at room temperature under neat conditions (no solvent) with quinuclidine as an amine nucleophile, in the presence of benzyl alcohol as an additive, afforded a product, γ-(aziridin-2-yl)-β-hydroxy-α-methylene butanoate, in 97% yield with a diastereomeric ratio of anti and syn as 86 : 14.

Abstract
Herein, we report the copper-catalyzed domino borylation/aldolisation of methyl 2-fluoroacrylate with carbonyl compounds followed by an elimination to give Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) analogues. The optimal conditions described were shown to be compatible with a wide range of aldehydes and ketones. Unprecedented MBH adducts derived from ketones were efficiently synthesized.

Abstract
The Morita–Baylis–Hillman reaction of acrylamide, as an activated alkene, has seen little development due to its low reactivity. We have developed the reaction using isatin derivatives with acrylamide, DABCO as a promoter and phenol as an additive in acetonitrile. The corresponding aza version with acrylate and acrylonitrile has also been developed resulting in high product yields.

Abstract
The development of asymmetric Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) reactions has evolved dramatically over the past few years, parallel to the emerging concept of bifunctional organocatalysis. Whereas organocatalysis is starting to compete with metal-based catalysis in several important organic transformations, the MBH reaction belongs to a group of prototypical reactions in which organocatalysts already display superiority over their metal-based counterparts. This Minireview summarizes recent mechanistic insights and advances in the design and synthesis of small organic molecules for enantioselective MBH and aza-MBH reactions.

Abstract
DMAP, DBU, and quinuclidine efficiently promote novel hydroalkoxylation reactions of acrylamide in primary alcohol solvents. DABCO is a comparatively poor hydroalkoxylation promoter and can effect clean, selective Baylis-Hillman reactions between acrylamide and aldehydes in alcoholic/aqueous media in which more basic nucleophilic catalysts promote hydroalkoxylation preferentially. Optimization of the reaction conditions has allowed acrylamide to be reacted with a range of aromatic aldehydes in moderate to excellent yields, including the first examples involving deactivated, electron-rich substrates such as p-tolualdehyde and o-anisaldehyde.

Abstract
The strategy of double asymmetric induction was utilized in Baylis-Hillman reaction for the first time by the coupling of chiral aldehydes with chiral acrylate (1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene-alpha-D-glucofuranose-3-acrylate) to obtain corresponding adducts with high syn diastereoselectivities (de >90%) in moderate to good yields.
