Abstract
A simple and effective three-component one-pot green methodology was employed for the synthesis of a new thiazolidine-2,4-dione based bisspirooxindolo-pyrrolidine derivatives using [Bmim]BF4 ionic liquid via [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction. It is an environmentally benign, column chromatography-free, shorter reaction time, good yield and easy product isolation method. The synthesized compounds 10a-x, were thoroughly characterized by using various spectroscopic methods like FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, Mass spectrometry and finally by single crystal X-ray diffraction method. In vitro anti-tubercular (anti-TB) activity studies were carried out on these synthesized compounds, and they showed good to moderate anti-TB activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain. The compound 10a exhibited good anti-TB activity, with an MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) value of 12.5 µg/mL, and the compounds 10m, 10o and 10r showed moderate activity with an MIC value of 25.0 µg/mL. Remaining compounds exhibited poor activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Ethambutol, rifampicin and isoniazid were used as standard drugs. Furthermore, in silico molecular docking experiments on the TB protein (PDB ID: 1DF7) were carried out to understand the binding interactions, and they showed least binding energy values ranging from -8.9 to -7.2 kcal/mol.

Abstract
This review has been centralized on applications of phthalic anhydride (PA) as a valuable and significant heterocyclic substrate in two- and multicomponent organic reactions. The article has been subdivided into the following parts: (i) PA introduction by focusing on its characterization, synthesizing procedure, and multiple-aspect applications. In addition, the previous review articles based on PA have also been indicated; (ii) the applications of PA as a substrate have been subdivided into parts with a glance on the reaction components numbers; (iii) the applications of PA in esterification reactions; and (iv) some examples of PA in multistep synthesis. The review covers the corresponding literature up to the end of 2022. According to the abovementioned classifications, PA is a potent substrate to design a wide range of heterocyclic compounds that possess various kinds of properties and applications in chemistry, industry, and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) are known to be serine hydrolase enzymes responsible for the hydrolysis of acetylcholine (ACh), which is a significant neurotransmitter for regulation of cognition in animals. Inhibition of cholinesterases is an effective method to curb Alzheimer's disease, a progressive and fatal neurological disorder. OBJECTIVE In this study, 30 new hydrazone derivatives were synthesized. Then we evaluated their anticholinesterase activity of compounds. We also tried to get insights into binding interactions of the synthesized compounds in the active site of both enzymes by using molecular docking approach. METHODS The compounds were synthesized by the reaction of various substituted/nonsubstituted benzaldehydes with 6-(substitute/nonsubstituephenyl)-3(2H)-pyridazinone-2-yl propiyohydrazide. Anticholinesterase activity of the compounds was determined using Ellman's method. Molecular docking studies were done by using the ADT package version 1.5.6rc3 and showed by Maestro. RMSD values were obtained using Lamarckian Genetic Algorithm and scoring function of AutoDock 4.2 release 4.2.5.1 software. RESULTS The activities of the compounds were compared with galantamine as cholinesterase enzyme inhibitor, where some of the compounds showed higher BChE inhibitory activity than galantamine. Compound F111 was shown to be the best BChE inhibitor effective in 50 μM dose, providing 89.43% inhibition of BChE (IC50=4.27±0.36 μM). CONCLUSION This study supports that novel hydrazone derivates may be used for the development of new BChE inhibitory agents.

Abstract
Ultrasonic irradiation is employed to accelerate organic reactions. Under sonication reduced time, good selectivity, excellent yield, and milder conditions were observed for many organic reactions. Ultrasonic reactions are increasingly used as green, clean, and environment-friendly methods in organic synthesis in terms of energy conservation and waste minimization. The use of ultrasound irradiation is increasing in coming years. The use of ultrasound irradiation in the synthesis of five-membered N-heterocycles is depicted in the present review article.
