Abstract
Hydroarylation of enantioenriched 1,3-disubstituted allenes has the potential to proceed with axial-to-point chirality transfer to yield enantioenriched allylated (hetero)aryl compounds. However, the gold-catalysed intermolecular reaction was previously reported to occur with no chirality transfer owing to competing allene racemisation. Herein, we describe the development of the first intermolecular hydroarylations of allenes to proceed with efficient chirality transfer and summarise some of the key criteria for achieving high regio- and stereoselectivity.

Abstract
A series of gold(I) phosphine complexes of the type [AuCl{PR(2)(R(f))}] (R = Et, i-Pr, Cy; R(f) = CF = CF(2); R = Ph, R(f) = C = CFH, CCl = CF(2), C ≡ CCF(3), CF(3), i-C(3)F(7), s-C(4)F(9)) have been prepared and most have been structurally characterised. All of the complexes are monomeric in the solid state, and a number of secondary interactions are observed--including short intramolecular AuF distances, metal-bound Au-ClH non-classical hydrogen bonds, fluorous domains and phenyl embraces. Only in the case of [AuCl{PEt(2)(CF = CF(2))}] is an aurophilic interaction with an AuAu contact less than the sum of the van der Waals radii observed. Even then, the distance, 3.3458(10) Å, is longer than that previously observed for the related complex with R = Ph; R(f) = CF = CF(2).

Abstract
The reaction of triphenylphosphinegold(I) chloride in ethanol in a 1:1 molar ratio with the 3-(aryl)-2-sulfanylpropenoic acids H(2)xspa [x: p=3-phenyl-, Clp=3-(2-chlorophenyl)-, -o-mp=3-(2-methoxyphenyl)-, -p-mp=3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-, -o-hp=3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-, -p-hp=3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-, diBr-o-hp=3-(3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)-, f=3-(2-furyl)-, t=3-(2-thienyl)-, -o-py=3-(2-pyridyl)-; spa=2-sulfanylpropenoato] gave compounds of the type [Au(PPh(3))(Hxspa)], which were isolated and characterized as solids by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and FAB mass spectrometry and in solution by (1)H, (13)C and (31)P NMR spectroscopy. The structures of the complexes [Au(PPh(3))(HClpspa)], [Au(PPh(3))(H-o-mpspa)] and [Au(PPh(3))(H-p-mpspa)].2/3C(3)H(6)O were determined by X-ray diffractometry. Hydrogen bonding was found along with Au-S and Au-P bonds in all cases and weak pi-pi stacking was found in the H-p-mpspa derivative. The in vitro antitumour activities against the HeLa-229, A2780 and A2780cis cell lines were determined for all complexes.

Abstract
Two novel coordination polymers, Cu3(4-pyt)3 (1) and Co(4-pyt)2 (2) (4-pyt = pyridine-4-thiolate), have been synthesized by in situ generation of a 4-pyt ligand from a 4,4'-dithiodipyridine precursor through reductive cleavage of the disulfide bond under solvothermal conditions. 1 and 2 exhibit a three-dimensional (3,4)-connected network and a two-dimensional square-grid-type structure, respectively.

Abstract
The cyclometallated Pd compound [upper bond 1 start]PdCl[PPh(2)CH(2)CH(2)C[upper bond 1 end]HCH(2)CH(2)PPh(2)], obtained from PdCl(2)(Ph(2)P(CH(2))(5)PPh(2)) in refluxing DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide), was characterized by NMR and X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. The cyclometallation of MCl(2)(Ph(2)P(CH(2))(5)PPh(2))(M = Pd, Pt) to give and its Pt(ii) analogue was probed using electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESMS). The reactivity of towards neutral ligands such as phosphines and pyridines as well as basic metal complexes such as pyridine-thiolate compounds of Au(i), Hg(ii) and Pt(ii) in solution was also investigated. The results showed that the chloride trans to the Pd-C bond is susceptible to ligand replacement. A number of entry metalloligands was examined in an attempt to establish a route to cyclometallated aggregates and clusters.
