Abstract
Ruppert-Prakash type reagents (TMSCF3, TMSC2F5, and TMSC3F7) are readily available, air-stable, and easy-to-handle fluoroalkyl sources. Herein, we describe a mild, copper-catalyzed cross-coupling of these fluoroalkyl nucleophiles with aryl and alkyl bromides to produce a diverse array of trifluoromethyl, pentafluoroethyl, and heptafluoropropyl adducts. This light-mediated transformation proceeds via a silyl-radical-mediated halogen atom abstraction pathway, which enables perfluoroalkylation of a broad range of organobromides of variable steric and electronic demand. The utility of the method is demonstrated through the late-stage functionalization of several drug analogues.

Abstract
The reaction of N-heteroaromatic compounds, such as 2-aryl-pyrrole, benzimidazole, imidazole, indole, and pyrazole derivatives, with alkynes in the presence of a catalytic amount of a nickel complex results in C-H/N-H oxidative annulation. The reaction shows a high functional group compatibility. While both Ni(0) and Ni(ii) complexes show a high catalytic activity, Ni(0) is proposed as a key catalytic species in the main catalytic cycle. In the case of the Ni(ii) system, the presence of a catalytic amount of a strong base, such as KOBu t , is required for the reaction to proceed. In sharp contrast, a base is not required in the case of the Ni(0) system. The proposed mechanism is supported by DFT studies.

Abstract
5-Aryl-substituted pyrazol-3-ylphosphonates have been conveniently synthesized by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of 1-formamidovinylphosphonates and aryldiazomethanes under K2CO3/MeOH conditions at room temperature. These pyrazoles are formed in one pot via spontaneous elimination of formamide. Basic conditions prevent competitive formation of cyclopropylphosphonates. 3-Aryl substituted pyrazol-5-carboxylates can be synthesized by the same methodology from 1-arylvinylphosphonates and ethyl diazoacetate, although a stronger base NaH is necessary to ensure the success of the aromatization stage with the elimination of the diethoxylphosphoryl moiety.

Abstract
Compounds with polyfluorinated molecular fragments possess unique properties associated with the presence of a large number of fluorine atoms that affect lipophilicity and conformational rigidity of the parent molecule along with other effects. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of synthesized compounds possessing perfluoroalkylated or polyfluorinated chains that have been tested for bioactivity or as potential drug candidates for the treatment of various diseases. As far as the length of the perfluoroalkylated chain is concerned the focus is centered on the compound bearing perfluoroethyl or tetrafluoroethyl as well as longer chains. The perfluoroalkylated compounds discussed are classified according to their biological activity.

Abstract
An optimisation of Michael-type addition of azole derivatives of broad-scale acidity – ranging from 5.20 to 15.00 pKa units – namely 4-nitropyrazole, 3,5-dimethyl-4-nitropyrazole, 4(5)-nitroimidazole, 4,5-diphenylimidazole, 4,5-dicyanoimidazole, 2-methyl-4(5)-nitroimidazole, 5(4)-bromo-2-methyl-4(5)-nitroimidazole and 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole to methyl acrylate as an acceptor was carried out. The optimisation process involved the use of an appropriate basic catalyst (DBU, DIPEA, NaOH, NaH, TEDA), a donor/base/acceptor ratio and the reaction temperature. The reactions were performed in DMF as solvent. Target Michael adducts were obtained in medium to excellent yields. Importantly, for imidazole and 1,2,4-triazole derivatives, no corresponding regioisomers were obtained.

Abstract
We have previously reported the identification of pyrazole-5-carboxylic acids as a new class of endothelin antagonists from low affinity pyrazol-5-ol ligands, which were obtained by random screening assays. We describe herein the synthesis and the structure activity relationships (SARs) of these pyrazole-5-carboxylic acids with potent ET(A) selective, mixed ET(A)/ET(B) or moderately ET(B) selective antagonist activities.
