Abstract
Two binuclear heteroleptic CuI complexes, namely Cu-NIR1 and Cu-NIR2, bearing rigid chelating diphosphines and π-conjugated 2,5-di(pyridin-2-yl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole as the bis-bidentate ligand are presented. The proposed dinuclearization strategy yields a large bathochromic shift of the emission when compared to the mononuclear counterparts (M1-M2) and enables shifting luminescence into the near-infrared (NIR) region in both solution and solid state, showing emission maximum at ca. 750 and 712 nm, respectively. The radiative process is assigned to an excited state with triplet metal-to-ligand charge transfer (3 MLCT) character as demonstrated by in-depth photophysical and computational investigation. Noteworthy, X-ray analysis of the binuclear complexes unravels two interligand π-π-stacking interactions yielding a doubly locked structure that disfavours flattening of the tetrahedral coordination around the CuI centre in the excited state and maintain enhanced NIR luminescence. No such interaction is present in M1-M2. These findings prompt the successful use of Cu-NIR1 and Cu-NIR2 in NIR light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), which display electroluminescence maximum up to 756 nm and peak external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 0.43 %. Their suitability for the fabrication of white-emitting LECs is also demonstrated. To the best of our knowledge, these are the first examples of NIR electroluminescent devices based on earth-abundant CuI emitters.

Abstract
This research sought to synthesize a new set of heteroaromatic thiazole-based polyurea derivatives with sulfur links in the polymers' main chains, which were denoted by the acronyms PU1-5. Using pyridine as a solvent, a diphenylsulfide-based aminothiazole monomer (M2) was polymerized via solution polycondensation with varied aromatic, aliphatic, and cyclic diisocyanates. Typical characterization methods were used to confirm the structures of the premonomer, monomer, and fully generated polymers. The XRD results revealed that aromatic-based polymers had higher crystallinity than aliphatic and cyclic derivatives. SEM was used to visualize the surfaces of PU1, PU4, and PU5, revealing spongy and porous shapes, shapes resembling wooden planks and sticks, and shapes resembling coral reefs with floral shapes at various magnifications. The polymers demonstrated thermal stability. The numerical results for PDTmax are listed in the following order, ranked from lowest to highest: PU1 < PU2 < PU3 < PU5 < PU4. The FDT values for the aliphatic-based derivatives (PU4 and PU5) were lower than those for the aromatic-based ones (616, 655, and 665 °C). PU3 showed the greatest inhibitory impact against the bacteria and fungi under investigation. In addition, PU4 and PU5 demonstrated antifungal activities that, in contrast with the other products, were on the lower end of the spectrum. Furthermore, the intended polymers were also tested for the presence of the proteins 1KNZ, 1JIJ, and 1IYL, which are frequently utilized as model organisms for E. coli (Gram-negative bacteria), S. aureus (Gram-positive bacteria), and C. albicans (fungal pathogens). This study's findings are consistent with the outcomes of the subjective screening.

Abstract
The reaction of a cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene (CAAC)‐stabilized thiazaborolo[5,4‐d]thiazaborole (TzbTzb) with strong Brønsted acids, such as HCl, HOTf (Tf=O2SCF3) and [H(OEt2)2][BArF4] (ArF=3,5‐(CF3)2C6H3), results in the protonation of both TzbTzb nitrogen atoms. In each case X‐ray crystallographic data show coordination of the counteranions (Cl−, OTf−, BArF4−) or solvent molecules (OEt2) to the doubly protonated fused heterocycle via hydrogen‐bonding interactions, the strength of which strongly influences the 1H NMR shift of the NH protons, enabling tuning of both the visible (yellow to red) and fluorescence (green to red) colors of these salts. DFT calculations reveal that the hydrogen bonding of the counteranion or solvent to the protonated nitrogen centers affects the intramolecular TzbTzb‐to‐CAAC charge transfer character involved in the S0→S1 transition, ultimately enabling fine‐tuning of their absorption and emission spectral features.

Abstract
For many decades, the thiazole moiety has been an important heterocycle in the world of chemistry. The thiazole ring consists of sulfur and nitrogen in such a fashion that the pi (π) electrons are free to move from one bond to other bonds rendering aromatic ring properties. On account of its aromaticity, the ring has many reactive positions where donor–acceptor, nucleophilic, oxidation reactions, etc., may take place. Molecules containing a thiazole ring, when entering physiological systems, behave unpredictably and reset the system differently. These molecules may activate/stop the biochemical pathways and enzymes or stimulate/block the receptors in the biological systems. Therefore, medicinal chemists have been focusing their efforts on thiazole-bearing compounds in order to develop novel therapeutic agents for a variety of pathological conditions. This review attempts to inform the readers on three major classes of thiazole-bearing molecules: Thiazoles as treatment drugs, thiazoles in clinical trials, and thiazoles in preclinical and developmental stages. A compilation of preclinical and developmental thiazole-bearing molecules is presented, focusing on their brief synthetic description and preclinical studies relating to structure-based activity analysis. The authors expect that the current review may succeed in drawing the attention of medicinal chemists to finding new leads, which may later be translated into new drugs.

Abstract
Thiazolo-[4,5- d]-thiazo-frame (tztz) compounds are important heteroaromatic organic systems, which recently became a subject of several studies in the field of organic electronics and organic photovoltaics. The most important physical nature of these systems is reported to be an equilibrium between enol and keto forms following excited-state proton transfer. This process originates from a flat trend of the S1 PE (potential energy) profile along the proton transfer coordinate. In the present work, we determined and interpreted the excited-state proton transfer and photophysical nature of these systems extensively by means of the MP2/CC2 and CASSCF theoretical approaches. Also, the effects of amine (-NH2) and cyano (-CN) substitutions were taken into account comprehensively by considering the transition energies and proton transfer pathways of the resulting tztz derivatives. It has been predicted that the physical nature of the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer, as the main character of these systems, is being affected significantly by substitutions. For all of the considered tztz derivatives, a conical intersection (CI) between ground and the S1 excited state was predicted. This CI makes the considered species capable to be responsible for photochromism and photoswitching as well.

Abstract
The synthesis, electrochemical, and photophysical characterization of N,N'-dialkylated and N,N'-dibenzylated dipyridinium thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole derivatives are reported. The thiazolothiazole viologens exhibit strong blue fluorescence with high quantum yields between 0.8-0.96. The dioctyl, dimethyl, and dibenzyl derivatives also show distinctive and reversible yellow to dark blue electrochromism at low reduction potentials. The fused bicyclic thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole heterocycle allows the alkylated pyridinium groups to remain planar, strongly affecting their electrochemical properties. The singlet quantum yield is greatly enhanced with quaternarization of the peripheral 4-pyridyl groups (ΦF increases from 0.22 to 0.96) while long-lived fluorescence lifetimes were observed between 1.8-2.4 ns. The thiazolothiazole viologens have been characterized using cyclic voltammetry, UV-visible absorbance and fluorescence spectroscopy, spectroelectrochemistry, and time-resolved photoluminescence. The electrochromic properties observed in solution, in addition to their strong fluorescent emission properties, which can be suppressed upon 2 e- reduction, make these materials attractive for multifunctional optoelectronic, electron transfer sensing, and other photochemical applications.
