Abstract
Scoparodane C (1), a diterpenoid with a rare 3,4-seco-3-nor-2,11-epoxy-ent-clerodane scaffold, was obtained from the aerial parts of Isodon scoparius, along with isocopariusines A-E (2-6), five ent-clerodanoids featuring a 5/6-fused ring system, and isocopariusines F-H (7-9), three common ent-clerodanoids. The structures of these previously undescribed compounds were established by a combination of spectroscopic analysis, X-ray diffraction, chemical derivatization, and quantum chemical calculation. Remarkably, isocopariusine B (3) showed strong resistance reversal activity against fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans.

Abstract
Isoxerophilusins A (1) and B (2), two unprecedented diterpene heterodimers biogenetically from ent-atisanes and abietanes, were isolated from the rhizomes of Isodon xerophilus. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Selective esterification of 1 generated 11 new derivatives. All derivatives showed excellent α-glucosidase inhibitory activity in comparison to acarbose. Compounds 12 and 13 demonstrated significant inhibition against α-glucosidase with IC50 values of 4.92 and 3.83 μM, respectively.

Abstract
Twenty new ent-kaurane diterpenoids, wardiisins A-T (1-20), along with two previously undescribed artefactual compounds (21 and 22) and twelve known analogues (23-34), were isolated from the aerial part of Isodon wardii. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and most of them were found to bear unusual C-12 oxygenation. Compounds 4, 7, 8, 19, 20, 21 exhibited remarkable cytotoxicity against the cancer cell lines HL-60, SMMC-7721, A-549, MDA-MB-231, and SW480, with IC50 values ranging from 0.3 to 5.2 μM. Moreover, 7 was found to induce G2/M cell cycle arrest and promote apoptosis in SW480 cell lines.

Abstract
Covering: up to March 2022Bisditerpenoids, or diterpenoid dimers, are a group of natural products with high structural variance, deriving from homo- or hetero-dimeric coupling of two diterpenoid units. They usually possess complex architectures resulting from the diversity of monomeric diterpenoids as building blocks and the dimerization processes. These compounds have attracted the attention of synthetic and biological scientists owing to the rarity of their natural origin and their significant biological activities. Herein, we provide a review highlighting some of the interesting bisditerpenoids reported since 1961 and showcase the chemical diversity in both their structures and biosynthesis, as well as their biological functions. This review focuses on the biosynthetic dimerization pathways of interesting molecules and their biomimetic synthesis, which may act as useful inspiration for the discovery and synthesis of more bisditerpenoids and further pharmacological investigations.

Abstract
Eleven undescribed ent-kaurane-type diterpenoid acids, namely noueinsiancins A–K (1–11), together with sixteen related known analogs (12–27) were isolated from Nouelia insignis Franch. The chemical structures and absolute configurations of the new compounds were confirmed by the extensive spectroscopic data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory assay was applied to estimate the nitric oxide (NO) inhibitory activities of all compounds by using lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells in vitro. The results revealed that 4–7 and 13–17 significantly inhibited NO production at the concentrations of 2.5 μM, 5.0 μM and 10.0 μM. Meanwhile, compounds 6 and 7 were found to down-regulate the protein expression levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in RAW 264.7 cells induced by LPS in a dose-dependent manner. In conclusion, these findings provided the reference values for exploring the new chemicals with biological activities from this genus. Abstract
Isogeopyxins A-C (1-3), three new diterpenoids with ent-kaurane, ent-pimarane, and ent-abietane scaffolds, respectively, along with six known ent-kauranoids, were isolated from the fermentation culture of Geopyxis sp. XY93 inhabiting the leaves of Isodon parvifolia. Their structures were elucidated by interpretation of spectroscopic data, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It marks the first time that ent-kauranoids, characteristic metabolites of Isodon species, have been isolated from an associated endophytic fungus.

Abstract
A phytochemical investigation of the leaves of the medicinal plant Isodon rubescens led to the isolation of the two new degraded abietane lactone diterpenoids rubesanolides F (1) and G (2). Their structures were elucidated based on the analyses of the HRESIMS and 1D/2D NMR spectral data, and their absolute configurations were determined by ECD spectrum calculations and X-ray single crystal diffraction methods. Compounds 1 and 2, with a unique γ-lactone subgroup between C-8 and C-20, were found to form a carbonyl carbon at C-13 by removal of the isopropyl group in an abietane diterpene skeleton. Rubesanolide G (2) is a rare case of abietane that possesses a cis-fused configuration between rings B and C. The two isolates were evaluated for their biological activities against two cancer cell lines (A549 and HL60), three fungal strains (Candida alba, Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus nigricans) and three bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis).
