Abstract
Five new alkyl zinc complexes supported by different formylfluorenimide ligands were prepared and characterized. Complex 1 was obtained by the reaction of 9-[N(CH3)2-Cy-NCH]Fl (Cy = 2-cyclohexyl) (Fl = fluorenyl) (L1) with diethylzinc (ZnEt2) in tetrahydrofuran. Reacting 9-[2-pyridyl-CH-NCH]Fl (L2) with ZnEt2 in tetrahydrofuran yielded complex 2. Under analogous conditions, complexes 3 and 4 were obtained through the reaction of 9-[2-pyridyl-CH(CH3)-NCH]Fl (L3) and 9-[8-quinoline-CH-NCH]Fl (L4) with ZnEt2 in tetrahydrofuran, respectively. The above ligands formed a tridentate four-coordinate structure with the introduction of a THF molecule along with the elimination of one ethyl group during its coordination with zinc. Notably, the formylfluorenimide ligand 9-[2-phenoxy-Ph-NCH]Fl (Ph = phenyl) (L5) bearing a phenoxy group exhibited unique reactivity compared to the other ligands and formed a bidentate three-coordinated structure when reacting with ZnEt2 in THF. All complexes were characterized via1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis, with structural determination confirmed through single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, the catalytic properties of these complexes were investigated. All these complexes exhibited excellent catalytic activities for the hydroboration of benzaldehyde, among which complex 5 demonstrated excellent catalytic performance (up to 99% yield) with a versatile substrate scope and high tolerance to functional groups (27 substrates) at a low catalyst loading (0.8 mol%) under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
Chiral binaphthols (BINOL)-metal combinations serve as powerful catalysts in asymmetric synthesis. Their chiral induction mode, however, typically relies on multifarious non-covalent interactions between the substrate and the BINOL ligand. In this work, we demonstrate that the chiral-at-metal stereoinduction mode could serve as an alternative mechanism for BINOL-metal catalysis, based on mechanistic studies of BINOL-aluminum-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration of heteroaryl ketones. Theoretical calculations reveal that an octahedral stereogenic-at-metal aluminum alkoxide species is the most stable species within the reaction system, and also is the catalytic relevant intermediate, promoting the stereo-determining hydroboration reaction through a ligand-assisted hydride transfer mechanism rather than the conventional hydroalumination mechanism. These computations reproduce the experimental selectivities and also rationalize the stereoinduction mechanism, which arises from the aluminum-centered chirality induced by chiral BINOL ligands during diastereoselective assembly. The reliability of the proposed mechanism could be verified by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction characterization of the octahedral aluminum alkoxide complex. Additional NMR and Electronic Circular Dichroism (ECD) experiments elucidated the behavior of the hexacoordinated aluminum alkoxide in the solution phase. We anticipate that these findings will extend the applicability of BINOL-metal catalysis to a broader range of reactions.

Abstract
This report describes the LuCl3/B(C6F5)3 cocatalyzed reductive deoxygenation of 67 ketones, aldehydes, alcohols, and ethers to alkanes under mild conditions. The strategy tolerates reactive amino, hydroxyl, nitro, halogen, vinyl, and ester functional groups, and the results demonstrate rare chemoselective deoxygenation of α,β-unsaturated ketones. Isotopic labeling experiments, control experiments, and derivatization studies are used to elucidate the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
The first example of the reduction of a nitro compound with HBPin catalyzed by tetra(diisopropylamido) rare-earth metal-lithium bimetallic complexes LiRE(NiPr2)4(THF) (RE = La, Nd, Sm, Gd, and Y) was disclosed. A series of aromatic nitro compounds were reduced to N-borylamines in high yields (up to 99%). The derivatives of N-borylamines─amides and carbamates─were obtained in a sequential one-pot manner. Furthermore, kinetic studies of the deoxygenative hydroboration of nitro compounds were carried out.

Abstract
Chiral dinuclear rare-earth metal complexes RE2Ln2 (n = 1, RE = Y(1), Eu(2), Nd(3), La(4), Gd(5); n = 2, RE = Eu(6), Gd(7)) stabilized by the corresponding Trost ligands H3L1 or H3L2 (H3L1 = (S,S)-2,6-bis[2-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl]-4-methylphenol, H3L2 = (S,S)-2,6-bis[2-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl]-4-chlorophenol) were prepared and three unknown complexes 5-7 were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The chiral rare-earth metal complexes 1-7 displayed high reactivity in the asymmetric hydrophosphonylation of α,β-unsaturated ketones, and 5 mol % of complex 7 together with 10 mol % of chiral diamine (1S,2S)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine were proved to be the optimal catalyst combination. Various hydrophosphonylation products with excellent yields and high to excellent enantiomeric excess (ee) values were obtained in toluene (up to 99% yield, >99% ee).
