Abstract
A copper(II)-catalyzed radical cascade reaction of N-propargyl enamides with sulfonyl hydrazides was developed, which provided an unprecedented method for the direct synthesis of meta-sulfonylpyridines in high efficiency with good functional group compatibility and simple operation. Mechanistic studies indicated that this tandem process might be composed of the radical addition, intramolecular cyclization and oxidative aromatization.

Abstract
A Mn(III)-mediated radical cascade cyclization of N-propargyl enamides with sodium sulfinates was developed. Mechanistic studies indicated that this cascade process is mainly composed of the chemoselective addition of sulfonyl radical to C≡C bond and the regioselective intramolecular 6-endo-trig cyclization. This protocol provided a powerful method for the divergent synthesis of diverse polysubstituted meta-sulfonylpyridines or 1,2-dihydropyridines just by varying solvent and temperature featuring good functional group compatibility and simple operation.

Abstract
We report an organophotoredox-catalyzed silylation/germylation cascade cyclization of N-alkenyl α-CF3 acrylamides under mild conditions. N-Aminopyridinium salts act as hydrogen atom transfer reagents under photoredox catalysis in the generation of silyl and germyl radicals. An array of silyl- and germyl-substituted 3-CF3-4-pyrrolin-2-one derivatives were constructed in a shorter reaction time with low catalyst loading in good to excellent yields at room temperature. Importantly, this protocol is amenable to the late-stage diversification of bioactive molecules, as well as to large-scale synthesis.

Abstract
This study elucidates the mechanisms and principles governing chemoselectivity in synthesizing two distinct N-heterocycles, benzimidazole thiazine and benzothiazole imidazole, through BF3•OEt2-catalyzed cyclization reactions of propargyl alcohols with benzimidazole thiols. Employing density functional theory calculations, we highlight the crucial role of fluorine source in influencing chemoselectivity. In DCM, BF3, as the catalytic center, coordinates with propargyl alcohol's hydroxyl group to form a precursor. Conversely, in DMF, [BF2•DMF]+, formed from DMF and BF3•OEt2, acts as the catalytic center, activating the propargyl alcohol's hydroxyl group. The mechanisms in both solvents involve sequential steps: B-O bond formation, C-O bond cleavage, S-C bond formation, hydrogen atom transfer (HAT), cyclization, and deprotonation. A notable difference is the HAT process: in DCM, it follows a 1,5-HAT process, while in DMF, BF4- formation from DMF and BF3•OEt2 provides a fluorine source and introduces steric hindrance, favoring a 1,6-HAT process and leading to unique chemoselectivity. This pioneering research showcases the impact of DMF on cyclization reactions, offering valuable insights for comprehending and designing reactions driven by fluorine sources. Crucially, our results propose an innovative reaction mechanism featuring lower potential energy surfaces, enhancing our understanding of the intricate interplay among reactants, catalysts, and solvents.

Abstract
Two general protocols for the regioselective electrochemically enabled sulfonylation cyclization of N-alkenylacrylamides with sodium sulfinates or sulfonyl hydrazides were described. These methods were carried out under mild, chemical oxidant-free, and transition-metal-free conditions with a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance to provide sulfonyl-containing 4-pyrrolin-2-ones, which is readily scalable to the gram scale.

Abstract
Three hybrid electrochemical protocols, which involve the energy transfer, direct photolysis and N-hydroxyphthalimide catalyst, respectively, are presented for the selenylation/cyclization of the fragile substrates of 3-aza-1,5-dienes with diorganyl diselenides to afford 3-selenomethyl-4-pyrrolin-2-ones. The two electrophotocatalytic reactions and the indirect electrolysis one are both regioselective and external-oxidant- and transition-metal-free, and are associated with a broad substrate scope and high Se-economy, and all three methods are amenable to gram-scale syntheses, late-stage functionalizations, sunlight-induced experiments and all-solar-driven syntheses.

Abstract
A mild, visible-light-induced, regioselective cascade sulfonylation-cyclization of 1,5-dienes with sulfonyl chlorides through the intermolecular radical addition/cyclization of alkenes C(sp2)-H was developed. This procedure proceeds well and affords a mild and efficient route to a range of monosulfonylated pyrrolin-2-ones at room temperatures.
