Abstract
The position-selective C-H bond activation of arenes has long been a challenging topic. Herein, we report an expedient ruthenium-electrocatalyzed site-selective ortho-C-H phosphorylation of arenes driven by electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), avoiding stoichiometric amounts of chemical redox-waste products. This strategy paved the way to achieve unprecedented ruthenaelectro-catalyzed para-C-H phosphorylation with excellent levels of site-selectivity. This electrocatalytic approach was characterized by an ample substrate scope with a broad range of arenes containing N-heterocycles, as well as several aryl/alkylphosphine oxides were well tolerated. Moreover, late-stage C-H phosphorylation of medicinal relevant drugs could also be achieved. DFT mechanistic studies provided support for an unusual ruthenium(iii/iv/ii) regime for the ortho-C-H phosphorylation.

Abstract
A Minisci-type borylation of unprotected adenosine, adenine nucleotide, and adenosine analogues was successfully achieved through photocatalysis or thermal activation. Despite the challenges posed by the presence of two potential reactive sites (C2 and C8) in the purine motif, the unique nucleophilic amine-ligated boryl radicals effortlessly achieved excellent C2 site selectivity and simultaneously avoided the formation of multifunctionalized products. This protocol proved effective for the late-stage borylation of some important biomolecules as well as a few antiviral and antitumor drug molecules, such as AMP, cAMP, Vidarabine, Cordycepin, Tenofovir, Adefovir, GS-441524, etc. Theoretical calculations shed light on the site selectivity, revealing that the free energy barriers for the C2-Minisci addition are further lowered through the chelation of additive Mg2+ to N3 and furyl oxygen. This phenomenon has been confirmed by an IGMH analysis. Preliminary antitumor evaluation, derivation of the C2-borylated adenosine to other analogues with high-value functionalities, along with the CuAAC click reactions, suggest the potential application of this methodology in drug molecular optimization studies and chemical biology.

Abstract
Herein, we report the Pd(II)-catalyzed direct C-H arylation of pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives with aryl iodides, which is enabled by bidentate pyridine-pyridine ligands. A range of aryl iodides proved to be suitable coupling partners affording the desired products in good yields with high levels of C6 selectivity. This protocol features good tolerance of reactive functional groups, mild reaction conditions, and a simple reaction system, which provides an expeditious route to an essential class of 6-arylpyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidines frequently found in bioactive compounds, and provides a step-economical access to the second-generation EGFR inhibitor AEE-788.

Abstract
An efficient and highly regioselective C6-phosphorylation protocol for pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine (7-DAP) derivatives with various H-phosphine oxides induced by visible light at room temperature is described for the first time. This protocol has been successfully achieved by the combination of Na2-eosin Y as a photocatalyst and LPO as an oxidant under transition metal- and additive-free conditions. The broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, excellent regioselectivity, and air tolerant conditions make this process favorable for the functional modification of pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine scaffold and enrich the phosphorylated 7-DAP compounds for further biological evaluation.

Abstract
Organophosphorous compounds have recently emerged as a powerful class of compounds with widespread applications, such as in bioactive natural products, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and organic materials, and as ligands in catalysis. The preparation of these compounds requires synthetic techniques with novel catalytic systems varying from transition metal, photo- and electrochemical catalysis to transformations without metal catalysts. Over the past few decades, the addition of P-H bonds to alkenes, alkynes, arenes, heteroarenes and other unsaturated substrates in hydrophosphination and other related reactions via the above-mentioned catalytic processes has emerged as an atom economical approach to obtain organophosphorus compounds. In most of the catalytic cycles, the P-H bond is cleaved to yield a phosphorus-based radical, which adds onto the unsaturated substrate followed by reduction of the corresponding radical yielding the product.

Abstract
A highly regioselective divergent approach for the phosphine-containing indane/indene derivatives from the ene-yne-oxazolone precursors was reported. An insight into the reaction mechanism involving the phospha-1,4-addition followed by 5-exo-dig ring closure with a concomitant C-P/C-C bond formation was also proposed. This promising protocol utilized H-phosphonate as the phosphonating reagent in a silver-catalyzed or base-mediated cascade cyclization to construct the corresponding phosphorylated spiroindenoxazolones and amidoindenes, respectively, in good yields (up to 88% yield).

Abstract
A new method for C-N bond transformations into C-P bonds was developed using 1,2,3-triazoles as leaving groups in SNAr-Arbuzov reactions. A series of C6-phosphonated 2-triazolylpurine derivatives was synthesized for the first time, with the isolated yields reaching up to 82% in the C-P-bond-forming event. The SNAr-Arbuzov reaction of 2,6-bistriazolylpurines follows the general regioselectivity pattern of the C6-position being more reactive towards substitution, which was unambiguously proved by X-ray analysis of diethyl (9-heptyl-2-(4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)-9H-purin-6-yl)phosphonate.

Abstract
We developed and presented here a ferrocene-catalyzed C-H imidation of 7-deazapurines (pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidines) with N-imidyl peroxyesters. The reactions occur regioselectively at position 8 in 7-deazapurines, leading to a series of 8-succinimido-, phtalimido-, or naphthalimido-7-deazapurine derivatives. Attempted hydrazinolysis of resulting 8-imidyl-7-deazapurines led to corresponding 8-amino-7-deazapurine, which was very unstable and quickly decomposed.

Abstract
In the present paper, we report an expedient total synthesis of triciribine, a tricyclic 7-deazapurine nucleoside and protein kinase B (AKT ) inhibitor, in 35% overall yield. Our synthesis route features a highly regioselective substitution of 1-N-Boc-2-methylhydrazine and a trifluoroacetic acid catalyzed one-pot transformation which combined the deprotection of the tert-butylcarbonyl (Boc) group and ring closure reaction together to give a tricyclic nucleobase motif.

Abstract
Mn-Catalyzed oxidative amination of benzylic C(sp3)-H bonds with nitriles is disclosed, which enables the synthesis of a broad range of secondary amides in moderate to excellent yields under mild conditions. The interaction between Mn(iii) and DDQ facilitates the oxidation and makes it highly efficient and selective.

Abstract
Ruthenium(II)-catalyzed meta-selective C-H (di)fluoromethylation was accomplished by phosphine and carboxylate cooperation. The remote C-H functionalization was characterized by ample substrate scope, thereby setting the stage for meta-(di)fluoromethylation through facile C-H cleavage.

Abstract
C–H alkylations of purine nucleosides were achieved by means of user-friendly nickel catalysis with ample substrate scope and high levels of chemo, site and regio control, which among others enabled the direct fluorescent labeling of purines in terms of late stage diversification.
