Abstract
The thiazole-2-imine derivatives with interesting pharmacological activities have attracted significant attention. However, previously reported synthesis strategies usually suffered from some drawbacks, such as the use of metals/additive and harsh reaction conditions. Herein, we developed a metal- and photoinitiator-free photocatalytic strategy for the synthesis of various selenium-substituted thiazole-2-imine derivatives for the first time. The reaction displayed mild reaction conditions, simple operation, a broad substrate scope (37 examples), and good to excellent yields.

Abstract
Thiazolidione, conferring drug-like properties, is an important heterocycle that widely exists in medicinally relevant molecules. In this work, by efficiently assembling various DNA-tagged primary amines, abundant aryl isothiocyanates, and ethyl bromoacetate, we present a DNA-compatible three-component annulation to generate a 2-iminothiazolidin-4-one scaffold, which was further decorated via Knoevenagel condensation by employing (hetero)aryl and alkyl aldehydes. These thiazolidione derivatives should find broad use in focused DNA-encoded library construction.

Abstract
In this paper, an efficient synthesis of 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones through a copper-catalyzed tandem annulation reaction of alkyl amines, isothiocyanates and diazo acetates is presented. Notable advantages of this [2 + 1 + 2] cyclization methodology include readily accessible starting materials, simple operation, mild reaction conditions, high yields, step-economy and diverse functional group tolerance. In addition, the reaction is applicable to the gram scale synthesis and the preparation of bioactive molecules.

Abstract
A metal- and oxidant-free three-component desulfurization and deamination condensation of amidines, isothiocyanates, and hydrazines for the synthesis of structurally diverse fully substituted 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines is described. The reaction proceeds without the requirement of any external catalysts, metals, ligands, or oxidants. This [2 + 1 + 2] cyclization strategy involves C-N and C-S bond cleavage and the formation of new C-N bonds in one pot. This transformation provides a series of full substituted 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines with advantages of a broad substrates scope, mild reaction conditions, environmental friendliness, and easy gram-scale applications. The fluorescence and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties of selected products were further tested. These synthesized 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines may be worth investigating for further applications in the fields of organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and optical materials.

Abstract
A new photocatalyst-free visible-light-enhanced strategy for the synthesis of pyrazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazine-2,4-diamines via the formation of electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complexes is reported. The in situ generated pyrazolthiourea intermediates from 1H-pyrazol-3-amines and isothiocyanates undergo formal [4 + 2] annulation with 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidines (TMG) to deliver the corresponding products involved in three C-N bond formations in a one-pot protocol. The formation of EDA complex from pyrazolthiourea and TMG is confirmed by UV-vis spectroscopy and 1H NMR experiments. Moreover, this mild reaction proceeds in the absence of any external transition metals, oxidants, bases, and ligands. This efficient methodology for the synthesis of purine analogues pyrazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazine-2,4-diamines provides potential synthetic applications in the field of drug research and development.

Abstract
A photocatalyst- and transition-metal-free visible-light-induced cyclization of ortho-halothiobenzanilides has been developed. Upon irradiation with visible light, substrates undergo dehalogenative cyclization to 2-aryl benzothiazoles with high efficiency and selectivity. This photocyclization exhibits a high tolerance to various functional groups, is applicable for the synthesis of 2-alkyl benzothiazoles, and is easy to set up for gram-scale reaction.

Abstract
A new metal-free approach to construct medicinally valuable 1-aryl-1H,3H-thiazolo[3,4-a]benzimidazoles under visible light irradiation in aqueous ethanol medium at room temperature has been developed. The present process was performed with 1,2-phenylenediamines, aromatic aldehydes and 2-mercaptoacetic acid utilizing a simple household 22 W compact fluorescent lamp to generate C-S, C-N bonds through radical intermediates. This visible-light-promoted synthesis provides lower cost, operation simplicity and high functional groups tolerating ability with short reaction time and high yield under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
A novel and efficient three-component coupling annulation strategy for the synthesis of 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones from amines, isothiocyanates, and alkyl acetylenedicarboxylates under visible-light irradiation conditions has been demonstrated. In this transformation, the in situ formed photoactive electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complexes facilitate the reaction and smoothly generate the corresponding products with a high adaptability under mild conditions. This protocol provides a cost-efficient and practical route to 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones and promotes potential applications on the synthetic drugs.

Abstract
A novel regioselective cyclization reaction of N-cinnamoylthioureas leading to six- or five-membered heterocyclic compounds was developed. N-Cinnamoylthioureas in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) underwent the well-established intramolecular cycloaddition reaction to give 2-imino-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-1,3-thiazin-4-ones in good yields. On the other hand, the reaction with 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) proceeded in an unprecedented "umpolung" cyclization fashion to afford five-membered 2-imino-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones and/or 2-thioxoimidazolidine-4-ones. The reaction was considered to occur via a cycloadduct of DBU with the cinnamoyl moiety followed by intramolecular attack of the thiourea group.
