Abstract
Here, we report a copper-catalyzed double amination of unactivated cyclic ketones with commercially available secondary arylamines for the synthesis of α,β-diamino-substituted cyclopentenaminones. The direct intermolecular C-N bond formation reaction offers the advantages of using an inexpensive copper catalyst, high atom and step economy, mild reaction conditions, and convenient operation. Mechanistic experiments indicate that this α,β-difunctionalization reaction proceeds through oxidative α-enamination/desaturation of the cyclic ketone with one secondary arylamine molecule to form an α-enaminone intermediate, followed by intermolecular amination of the α-enaminone with another secondary arylamine molecule.

Abstract
We present an efficient silver-catalyzed one-pot controllable molecular editing protocol for the transformation of 2-amino-N-substituted benzamides into 6-selenylated N-substituted 1,2,3-benzotriazine-4(3H)-ones under mild reaction conditions. This three-component reaction strategy is achieved by building N-N/N═N/C-Se bonds, which provides a practical pathway for the preparation of selenylated 1,2,3-benzotriazine-4(3H)-ones with a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance, as well as high site-selectivity. Mechanistic experiments suggest that this reaction proceeds via intermolecular site-selective C-H selenylation of 2-amino-N-substituted benzamides with readily available diselenides, followed by annulation of selenylated 2-amino-N-substituted benzamides using AgNO3 as the nitrogen synthon.

Abstract
Site-selective hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) from the N═Csp2-H bonds of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones is a highly attractive but underdeveloped domain. Reported herein is a highly selective, practical, and economically efficient approach for facile assembly of pyrroloquinoxalinones by synergistic photocatalysis and HAT catalysis. The reaction proceeds through bromine radical-mediated HAT of quinoxalinones and imine radical addition to α-cyano-α,β-unsaturated ketones that establishes a cross-coupling/annulation cascade process, resulting in the synthesis of a series of functionalized pyrroloquinoxalinones. This protocol does not require transition metals or excess oxidants and uses easy-to-synthesize starting materials with excellent scalability and broad substrate scope. The establishment of N═Csp2 radical chemistry illustrates great potential for the synthesis of imine-containing molecules that are not possible with some traditional methods.

Abstract
Previous light-mediated approaches to the direct decarboxylative Giese aroylation reaction have mainly relied on the use of a photocatalyst and a reductive quenching pathway. By exploiting a mechanistically distinct oxidative protocol, we have successfully developed a photocatalyst-free, light-mediated direct Giese aroylation methodology.

Abstract
We have developed one thermal and one light-mediated method for direct Minisci-type C-H amidation of 1,3-azoles, which are applicable to thiazoles, benzothiazoles, benzimidazoles, and for the first time, imidazoles. The new visible light-mediated approach can be rendered photosensitiser/photocatalyst-free and likely proceeds via an electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex, the first direct Minisci-type amidation to do so.

Abstract
The K2CO3-mediated one-pot reaction of 1,3-acetonedicarboxylates with 2 equiv. of substituted 2-fluoro-1-nitrobenzenes has been developed to synthesize various 2,3-dicarboxylate indoles via a tandem annulation pathway. In the effective reaction, one carbon-carbon double bond, one carbon-carbon single bond and one carbon-nitrogen single bond are formed under open-vessel conditions. DFT calculations are used to rationalize the plausible mechanisms.

Abstract
A metal- and oxidant-free three-component desulfurization and deamination condensation of amidines, isothiocyanates, and hydrazines for the synthesis of structurally diverse fully substituted 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines is described. The reaction proceeds without the requirement of any external catalysts, metals, ligands, or oxidants. This [2 + 1 + 2] cyclization strategy involves C-N and C-S bond cleavage and the formation of new C-N bonds in one pot. This transformation provides a series of full substituted 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines with advantages of a broad substrates scope, mild reaction conditions, environmental friendliness, and easy gram-scale applications. The fluorescence and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties of selected products were further tested. These synthesized 1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amines may be worth investigating for further applications in the fields of organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and optical materials.

Abstract
A new photocatalyst-free visible-light-enhanced strategy for the synthesis of pyrazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazine-2,4-diamines via the formation of electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complexes is reported. The in situ generated pyrazolthiourea intermediates from 1H-pyrazol-3-amines and isothiocyanates undergo formal [4 + 2] annulation with 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidines (TMG) to deliver the corresponding products involved in three C-N bond formations in a one-pot protocol. The formation of EDA complex from pyrazolthiourea and TMG is confirmed by UV-vis spectroscopy and 1H NMR experiments. Moreover, this mild reaction proceeds in the absence of any external transition metals, oxidants, bases, and ligands. This efficient methodology for the synthesis of purine analogues pyrazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazine-2,4-diamines provides potential synthetic applications in the field of drug research and development.

Abstract
![]()
A catalyst-free, stereoselective
visible-light-driven annulation
reaction between alkenes and N,N-substituted dialkyl anilines for the synthesis of substituted tetrahydroquinolines
is presented. The reaction is driven by the photoexcitation of an
electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex, and the resulting products
are obtained in good to high yields with complete diastereoselectivity.
Mechanistic rationale and photochemical characterization of the EDA-complex
are provided.
