Abstract
Cascade alkyl migration of 2-alkynylanilines via an aromaticity destruction and reconstruction process is reported. The first alkyl migration is triggered by generation of a dearomatized arenium species via oxidation and cyclization, and the second is driven by the force to restore the aromaticity of rearrangement products. The reaction gave rise to a range of multi-functionalized indoles.

Abstract
Oxidative functionalization of indoles is one of the most widely used approaches to exploit the synthetic utility of indoles. In continuation of our research interest in the green oxidation of indoles, we further explore the oxidation of indoles with oxone-halide and discover that the protecting group on the nitrogen of indoles plays a decisive role in controlling the pathways of indole oxidation with oxone-halide. An electron-withdrawing group on the nitrogen of indoles (N-EWG) enables C2 halogenation with stoichiometric halide, while C3 halogenation could be selectively achieved by using stoichiometric halide without dependence on the electronic property of the protecting group on the indole nitrogen. Different from our previous results obtained by using catalytic halide, these findings lead to the development of an environmentally friendly, efficient, and mild protocol for access to 2- or 3-haloindoles (chloro and bromo). As compared to the previous synthetic methods for 2-/3-haloindoles, our method exploits the in situ-generated reactive halogenating species from oxone-halide for halogenation of indoles and thus eliminates the use of stoichiometric halogenating agents and the production of toxic and hazardous organic byproducts derived from oxidants.

Abstract
A dearomative spirocyclization of tryptamine-derived isocyanides with quinone esters is developed for the divergent synthesis of structurally complex chromeno[2,3-b]indole and polycyclic spiroindoline scaffolds. This domino reaction features the formation and conversion of the six-membered dihydropyran ring with an amendable N,O-aminal moiety.

Abstract
The direct dearomative addition of arenes to the C3 position of unprotected indoles is reported under operationally simple conditions, using triflic acid at room temperature. The present regioselective hydroarylation is a straightforward manner to generate an electrophilic indole at the C3 position from unbiased indoles in sharp contrast to previous strategies. This atom-economical method delivers biologically relevant 3-arylindolines and 3,3-spiroindolines in high yields and regioselectivities from both intra- and intermolecular processes. DFT computations suggest the stabilization of cationic or dicationic intermediates with H-bonded (TfOH)n clusters.

Abstract
A tandem cyclization between 2-(2-aminophenyl)acetonitriles and 2-(hydroxy(aryl)methyl)phenols for the preparation of dihydrochromeno[2,3-b]indole derivatives was successfully developed. The transformation proceeded smoothly in the presence of a catalytic environmentally benign iron salt, and various multisubstituted dihydrochromeno[2,3-b]indoles were synthesized in moderate to high yields.

Abstract
A facile, DAST-mediated intramolecular cyclization of 3-hydroxy-3-(2-((3-methoxybenzyl)oxy)phenyl)indolin-2-one derivatives for the synthesis of spirooxindoles fused with dibenzoxepine moieties is described. The success of this reaction is highly dependent on the choice of solvent (promoted by DCM and 1,2-DCE) and the electronic nature of the pendant aromatic ring, which is favored by the presence of electron-donating substituents. The reaction is believed to proceed through an intramolecular Friedel-Crafts-type reaction. Various dibenzoxepine-fused spirooxindoles were successfully synthesized in up to 98% yield. This methodology provides libraries of structurally diverse and medicinally important small molecules that could aid in the search for new bioactive molecules.
