Abstract
A one-pot, three-component synthesis of indole-benzofuran bis-heterocycles from terminal alkynes, salicylaldehydes, and indoles has been developed via copper-catalyzed tandem annulation. This catalytic system utilizes readily available starting materials, enabling predictable synthesis of indole-benzofuran bis-heterocycles with broad substrate versatility, excellent regiocontrol, and gram-scale amenability. The reaction proceeds via a sequential pathway involving A3 coupling, 1,4-conjugate addition, and 5-exo-dig cyclization.

Abstract
Herein, we reveal an unprecedented domino annulation of N-benzyl-acrylamides with 1,3-dicarbonyls for the assembly of fused tricyclic alkaloid frameworks incorporating a spirocycle via an alkylation/dearomative ipso-annulation/Michael addition (desymmetrization) sequence. This conversion involves three carbon-carbon bond formations, generating four chiral carbons, including three quaternary carbon centers, in a single diastereomer in one pot under identical reaction conditions. The synthetic potential of this atom-economic method is illustrated by modifications of the functional groups present in the products obtained.

Abstract
Benzofurans have intrigued both pharmaceutical researchers and chemists owing to the medicinal usage of their derivatives against copious disease-causing agents (i.e., bacteria, viruses, and tumors). These heterocyclic scaffolds are pervasively encountered in a number of natural products and drugs. The ever-increasing utilization of benzofuran derivatives as pharmaceutical agents persuaded the chemists to devise novel and facile methodological approaches to assemble the biologically potent benzofuran nucleus. This review summarizes the current developments regarding the innovative synthetic routes and catalytic strategies to procure the synthesis of benzofuran heterocycles with their corresponding mechanistic details, reported by several research groups during 2021-2023.

Abstract
The first sequential acid-catalyzed propargylation/base-mediated aza-cycloisomerization between indolyl-benzimidazoles and propargylic alcohols is described. This protocol enables the one-pot construction of N-fused benzimidazo-β-carbolines in good yields. The synthetic utility of this approach is demonstrated by the assembly of an aza-helicene and also by a gram-scale reaction.

Abstract
A formal (3 + 2) cycloaddition of 1,4-enediones with 2-naphthols was established under the catalysis of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid as an organocatalyst, leading to the efficient synthesis of structurally diverse 3-vinylnaphthofurans with high yields and excellent (Z/E)-selectivities (up to 96% yield, all >20:1 Z/E). This formal (3 + 2) cycloaddition involved a cascade reaction process, and the intramolecular hydrogen bond in the structure of 3-vinylnaphthofurans should play an important role in controlling the (Z/E)-selectivity of the newly formed vinyl group. Moreover, this class of 3-vinylnaphthofurans was discovered to have an axial chirality. This work provides an organocatalytic approach for constructing multi-substituted vinylnaphthofurans via a cascade reaction with excellent control of the (Z/E)-selectivity, which will serve as a useful strategy for synthesizing vinylnaphthofurans via in situ construction of the furan core and formation of the vinyl group.

Abstract
A novel [2 + 1 + 3] cyclization reaction for the synthesis of 2-aryl-4-quinolinecarboxylates from aryl methyl ketones, arylamines, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds has been established. This metal-free process achieved the C-C bond cleavage of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds directly as a single-carbon synthon. The reaction is highly efficient and has good substrate compatibility while operating under mild conditions. This method has good practicability and successfully realized the synthesis of bioactive molecules.
