Abstract
We report a highly regioselective 1,2-addition of P(O)-H compounds to the in situ generated β,γ-alkynyl-α-ketimine derived from 3-alkynyl-3-hydroxyisoindolinones, which provided a general protocol for the preparation of 3,3-disubstituted isoindolinones featuring both phosphoryl and alkynyl groups at a quaternary carbon center. The use of only 2-5 mol % of an inexpensive catalyst (In(ClO4)3·8H2O or Bi(OTf)3) allowed the smooth output of the desired products under mild conditions (25 °C, 0.5-24 h) with a broad substrate scope (35 examples) in up to >99% yield. The obtained products could be further elaborated based on the alkyne moiety. The initial asymmetric trial indicated that the use of BINOL-derived CPA could enable an enantioselective induction in up to a 46% yield with 77% ee.

Abstract
While the oxidation of phenols and BINOLs is well documented to lead to a broad range of useful organic scaffolds, that of NOBINs is far less explored. We investigate herein their oxidation with a number of standard chemical oxidants, leading upon skeletal rearrangement to the corresponding α-spiropyrrolidones, which represent a rare and highly valuable heterocyclic core.

Abstract
In this study, we developed a cascade 5,5-cyclisation of internal ketene-N,O-acetals utilizing homogeneous Au(I) catalysis. This process involves an initial 5-exo-dig carbocyclisation, followed by a 5-exo-dig heterocyclisation that stereoselectively incorporates the O-atom of a water molecule into an N-tethered propargyl alkyne. This sequential reaction results in the formation of one C-C, two C-O, and two C-I bonds, ultimately leading to the synthesis of spiro-α-iodo-γ-lactone structures featuring oxazole rings in good yields.

Abstract
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)-promoted catalyst-free oxidative C-N coupling and C-O coupling under oxidant-free conditions are outlined. This protocol is operationally simple and leads to various functionalized substituted imidazoles or oxazoles in good yields. To date, a very limited number of oxidation protocols have been established, where DMSO acts solely as a catalyst or an oxidant or both. In this report, DMSO is not only used as a C-N/C-O coupling agent but is also used as the oxidant required for these oxidative transformations. Hence, our demonstrated DMSO-promoted catalyst-free coupling transformation has the ability to lead to a new dimension in the field of oxidative coupling.

Abstract
The creation of new functional molecules is a central task in chemical synthesis. Herein, we report the synthesis of a new type of fluorophore, bisbenzo[f]isoindolylidenes, from easily accessible dipropargyl benzenesulfonamides. Wavelength-tunable fluorophores emitting strong fluorescence of green to red light were obtained in this reaction. Late-stage modifications and incorporation of bioactive molecules into these fluorophores give rise to potential applications in biological studies. Detailed computational and experimental studies were conducted to elucidate the mechanism, and suggest a reaction sequence involving Garratt-Braverman type cyclization, isomerization, fragmentation, dimerization and oxidation.

Abstract
A regioselective sulfonyl/sulfinyl migration cycloisomerization cascade of alkyne-tethered ynamides is developed in the presence of XPhosgold catalyst. This reaction is the first example of a general [1,3]-sulfonyl migration from the nitrogen center to the β-carbon atom of ynamides, followed by umpolung 5-endo-dig cyclization of the ynamide α-carbon atom to the gold-activated alkyne, and final deaurative [1,5]-sulfinylation. This process allows the synthesis of peripherally decorated unconventional 4-sulfinylated pyrroles with broad scope from N-propargyl-tethered ynamides. In contrast, N-homopropargyl-tethered ynamides undergo intramolecular tetradehydro Diels-Alder reaction to provide 2,3-dihydro-benzo[f]indole derivatives. Control experiments and density-functional theory studies were used to study the reaction pathways.

Abstract
Polycyclization reactions are among the most efficient synthetic tools for the synthesis of complex, polycyclic molecules in a single operation from simple starting materials. We report in this manuscript a full account on the discovery and development of a novel cationic polycyclization from readily available ynamides. Simple activation of these building blocks under acidic conditions enables the generation of highly reactive activated keteniminium ions, which triggers an unprecedented cationic polycyclization yielding highly substituted polycyclic nitrogen heterocycles possessing up to seven fused cycles and three contiguous stereocenters.

Abstract
A highly regio- and stereoselective trans-iodofluorination reaction of ynamides with NIS and Et3N·3HF has been achieved, affording (E)-α-fluoro-β-iodoenamides in moderate to good yields. The reaction proceeds under mild reaction conditions and exhibits good functional group compatibility.

Abstract
A metal- and base-free protocol for intramolecular cross-coupling of C(sp2)-H and N-H bonds using N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) has been demonstrated. This environmentally benign approach furnishes a series of substituted indolo[1,2-a]quinazolinones from the suitably fabricated indoles via C-N bond forming cyclization in 28-82% yield. A plausible mechanism is proposed for this cyclization based on the results of a control experiment. This methodology requires no additional metal catalyst, oxidant, or base. Furthermore, the synthetic utility of the protocol is demonstrated by performing a gram scale reaction.
