Abstract
We report the development of a new electron-rich aniline (ERA)-based cleavable linker. Anilines can be incorporated into peptides during SPPS and are stable to most reaction conditions. ERA-containing peptides can be cleaved rapidly in the presence of oxidants, such as DDQ, CAN, and NaIO4, in 30 min at room temperature. The compatibility of these conditions is demonstrated on peptides containing natural and unnatural amino acids. While the cleavages of other oxidatively labile linkers is known to cause decomposition of Tyr and Trp, these sensitive residues are stable to DDQ oxidations. An ERA-linker also enables the capture and release of a biotinylated peptide from immobilized streptavidin. ERA-linkers may serve as an excellent tool for peptide library screening applications.

Abstract
A highly efficient and straightforward one-pot synthesis of diversely substituted 3,4-dihydroquinazolines and quinazolin-4(3H)-ones has been achieved through a domino three-component assembly reaction of arenediazonium salts, nitriles, and bifunctional aniline derivatives. This new protocol involves three C-N bond formations through the initial formation of N-arylnitrilium intermediates from arenediazonium salts and nitriles, followed by the sequential nucleophilic addition and cyclization reactions with bifunctional anilines, leading to such N-heterocyclic compounds of biological and pharmacological importance. This method offers a simple, expedient, and robust approach with the use of amenable and easily accessible reactants/reagents under metal-free mild conditions, good functional group tolerance, and high efficiency. The synthetic applications were also demonstrated by derivatization of the products obtained from these processes and syntheses of a diverse range of valuable polycyclic N-heterocycles.

Abstract
A solvent (2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE) vs ethyl alcohol (EtOH)) switched synthesis of quinolines and pyridines is illustrated from (E)-2-(1,3-diphenylallylidene)malononitriles via a Pd(II)-catalyzed photochemical process. The active catalyst [L2Pd(0)] generated serves as an exogenous photosensitizer. The process offers predominantly Z-alkenylated quinolines and pyridines in TFE and EtOH, respectively. Furthermore, large-scale synthesis and a few interesting post-synthetic modifications have been demonstrated.

Abstract
The solvent-controllable photoreaction of 4-methoxyazobenzenes to afford 1-aryl-1H-benzimidazoles or N-arylbenzene-1,2-diamines has been studied. The irradiation of 4-methoxyazobenzenes in DMF containing 0.5 M hydrochloric acid provided N2-aryl-4-methoxybenzene-1,2-diamines as the major product, while irradiation in acetal containing 0.16 M hydrochloric acid led to 1-aryl-6-methoxy-2-methyl-1H-benzimidazoles as the major product. A possible reaction mechanism explaining the selectivity was also discussed. A solvent-controllable photoreaction involving 4-methoxyazobenzenes has been developed to synthesize 1-aryl-1H-benzimidazoles or N-arylbenzene-1,2-diamines in moderate to good yields.![]()

Abstract
The development of metal-free organic reactions is one of the hotspots in the synthesis of cyclic compounds. ROTf (alkyl trifluoromethanesulfonates), due to their good electrophilicity, are powerful alkylating reagents at heteroatoms such as nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus to induce an electrophilic centre for carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bond formation. Inspired by this chemistry, a variety of research concentrating on heterocycles synthesis has been carried out. In this review, we mainly summarize the ROTf-induced annulation of heteroatom reagents such as nitriles, carbodiimides, azobenzenes, isothiocyanates, aldehydes, isocyanates and phosphaalkene with themselves or alkynes to afford cyclic compounds.

Abstract
Multisubstituted furans were prepared from dialkyl 2-(aziridin-2-ylmethylene)malonate and/or 1,3-dione through aziridine ring opening by the internal carbonyl oxygen with the assistance of BF3·OEt2, followed by aromatization. This synthetic method is free from any metal and is atom-economical with all of the atoms in the starting material retained in the final product.
