Abstract
As a class of readily available and multifunctional building blocks, the chemistry of 4-alken-2-ynyl carbonates remains to be explored. Presented herein is a palladium-catalysed cascade transformative reaction between 4-alken-2-ynyl carbonates and ortho-functionalised activated alkenes. Achiral 1,1-bisalkyl-4-alken-2-ynyl carbonates undergo highly regioselective propargylic substitution with ortho-hydroxyphenyl-tethered activated alkenes, and an auto-tandem vinylogous addition, unusual central-carbon Tsuji-Trost alkylation, protonation and β-H elimination process is followed to furnish fused and spirocyclic frameworks with high structural complexity. Even kinetic transformations with racemic 1-monoalkylated 4-alken-2-ynyl carbonates can be accomplished in the assemblies with ortho-aminophenyl-tethered activated alkenes to afford the analogous alkaloid architectures. This palladium-catalysed auto-tandem protocol exhibits excellent chemo-, regio-, stereoselectivity and reaction efficacy, and substantial functionality compatibility is also observed.

Abstract
Strained cyclic allenes are a class of in situ-generated fleeting intermediates that, despite being discovered more than 50 years ago, has received significantly less attention from the synthetic community compared to related strained intermediates. Examples of trapping strained cyclic allenes that involve transition metal catalysis are especially rare. We report the first annulations of highly reactive cyclic allenes with in situ-generated π-allylpalladium species. By varying the ligand employed, either of two isomeric polycyclic scaffolds can be obtained with high selectivity. The products are heterocyclic and sp3-rich and bear two or three new stereocenters. This study should encourage the further development of fragment couplings that rely on transition metal catalysis and strained cyclic allenes for the rapid assembly of complex scaffolds.

Abstract
We herein designed and synthesized allenyl benzoxazinones of a novel type, which were then involved in a Pd-catalyzed asymmetric cascade intramolecular cyclization/intermolecular Michael addition reaction with 1-azadienes. A broad range of chiral C2-functionalized quinoline derivatives were afforded in moderate to good yields (up to 93%) with high enantioselectivities (up to 93% ee) in this reaction.

Abstract
AbstractHerein, we present a palladium-catalyzed tandem [4+1] cycloaddition of 4-vinyl-1,4-dihydro-2H-3,1-benzoxazin-2-ones with N-tosylhydrazones. The reaction is accomplished by merging the in situ generated aza-ortho-quinone methides (aza-o-QMs) with nucleophilic carbenes. This method enables the construction of diverse indolines with broad functional group compatibility in good yields with high levels of diastereoselectivity under mild conditions.

Abstract
Functionalized cyclic organic carbonates and carbamates are frequently used in a number of transition metal-catalyzed decarboxylative reactions for the construction of interesting molecules. These decarboxylative transformations have attracted more and more research attention in recent years mainly due to their advantages of less waste generation and versatile reactivities. On the basis of previous reviews on this hot topic, the present review will focus on the development of transition metal-catalyzed decarboxylative transformations of functionalized cyclic carbonates and carbamates in the last two years.

Abstract
Indole is the most frequently found heterocyclic core structures in pharmaceuticals, natural products, agrochemicals, dyes and fragrances. For about 150 years, chemists were absorbed in finding new and easier synthetic strategies to build this nucleus. Many books and reviews have been written, but the number of new syntheses that appear in the literature, make necessary continuous updates. This reviews aims to give a comprehensive overview on indole synthesis catalyzed by transition metals appeared in the literature in the years 2016 and 2017.

Abstract
The cyclopenta[b]indole scaffold is ubiquitously present in several bioactive natural products and pharmaceutically interesting compounds. Of the numerous methods known for the synthesis of cyclopenta-fused indoles, this review highlights only the metal-catalysed approaches reported from the year 2015 onwards. This review encompasses our own efforts leading to the synthesis of cyclopentannulated indoles, in addition to the seminal contributions of several other researchers.

Abstract
The first [4 + 2] cyclization/retro-Mannich reaction cascade of para-quinone methides with Pd-containing 1,4-dipoles generated in situ from vinyl benzoxazinanones has been established. The corresponding rearrangement products were obtained in generally good yields.
