Abstract
The Heck/Suzuki tandem reaction has emerged as an essential strategy for the synthesis of complex molecules. Herein, an efficient palladium-catalyzed Heck/Suzuki tandem reaction of (Z)-1-iodo-1,6-dienes with organoboronic acids is described, providing various tetrahydropyridines in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. The key to the success of this approach is the avoidance of the intramolecular second Heck insertion occurring prior to the transmetalation step. In addition, the asymmetric version of this reaction is investigated to deliver chiral tetrahydropyridine in excellent yield with promising enantioselectivity.

Abstract
We report a palladium-catalyzed Heck-carbonylation of alkene-tethered carbamoyl chlorides by utilizing aryl formates as convenient CO surrogates. One C-O and two C-C bonds are constructed to give diversiform esterified oxindoles/γ-lactams bearing an all-carbon quaternary stereocenter under gas-free conditions. This transformation features a wide substrate scope and good functional group tolerance and can be easily applied to late-stage functionalization.

Abstract
Despite diversity in reaction mechanisms, the palladium-catalyzed cyclization of 1,6-enyne generally proceeds in a 5-exo manner. Herein, we report the development of a Pd(0)-catalyzed hydroacyloxylative cyclization of 1,6-enyne in either 7-endo-trig or 6-exo-trig fashion when paired with an appropriate dihaloacetic acid reactant, such as F2HCCO2H and Cl2HCCO2H. Using the combination of Pd2(dba)3 and a chiral phosphine ligand, the hydroacyloxylative cyclization of 1,6-enyne bearing a 1,1-disubstituted alkene moiety readily gives highly enantiopure seven-membered heterocycles while the reaction of those having a 1,2-disubstituted alkene affords six-membered rings with moderate enantioselectivity. Preliminary experimental studies suggest a reaction mechanism featuring an unusual E-to-Z vinyl-Pd(II) isomerization and alkene trans-oxypalladation, which is proven to be governed by the rationally selected carboxylate.

Abstract
An aerobic phosphorylation of N-aryltetrahydroisoquinolines was realized by SbCl 3 initiated sp 3 C-H bond functionalization, providing a series of α-aminophosphonates in high yields. This work reveals that SbCl 3 /O 2 is an efficient and facile catalyst system to enable the aerobic C-H functionalization, and antimony containing reagents might be potentially applied to more general transformations.

Abstract
Herein, we describe a palladium-catalyzed thiocarbonylation via the reaction of a σ-alkyl palladium intermediate with carbon monoxide (CO) and a TIPS thioether. The use of CsF, (IPr)Pd(allyl)Cl, CO, and a TIPS thioether in THF are key to obtaining alkyl and aryl thioesters in high yields. The yield of the palladium-catalyzed thiocarbonylation depends on the structure of substrate and it was observed that indoline-2-one derivatives were formed faster than indoline derivatives. The reactions of benzoyl and hydrocinnamoyl fluorides with PhSTIPS and CsF were also demonstrated to form the corresponding thioesters.

Abstract
![]()
A dearomative electrophilic fluorination
of 2-methylindoles is
reported, delivering 3,3-difluoroindolines bearing an exomethylidene.
The model substrate was synthesized on up to a 20 mmol scale and was
purified by a practical recrystallization as a crystalline bench-stable,
yet reactive solid. The olefin is amphoteric and can react both as
a nucleophile and as an electrophile. A wide range of metal-free,
palladium, rhodium, and copper reactions was explored, forming new
C–H, C–B, C–C (alkyl and aryl), C–N, C–O,
C–P, and C–S bonds.

Abstract
By using methanol as the hydrogen source and commercially available nickel complex as the catalyst, the hydroarylative and hydroalkenylative cyclization of unsymmetrically substituted 1,6-dienes with organoboronic acid was developed to afford products with high regio- and diastereoselectivities.
