Abstract
Data security is crucial for safeguarding the integrity, authenticity, and confidentiality of documents, currency, merchant labels, and other paper-based assets, which sequentially has a profound impact on personal privacy and even national security. High-security-level logic data protection paradigms are typically limited to software (digital circuits) and rarely applied to physical devices using stimuli-responsive materials (SRMs). The main reason is that most SRMs lack programmable and controllable switching behaviors. Traditional SRMs usually produce static, singular, and highly predictable signals in response to stimuli, restricting them to simple "BUFFER" or "INVERT" logic operations with a low security level. However, recent advancements in SRMs have collectively enabled dynamic, multidimensional, and less predictable output signals under external stimuli. This breakthrough paves the way for sophisticated encryption and anti-counterfeiting hardware based on SRMs with complicated logic operations and algorithms. This review focuses on SRM-based data protection, emphasizing the integration of intricate logic and algorithms in SRM-constructed hardware, rather than chemical or material structural evolutions. It also discusses current challenges and explores the future directions of the field-such as combining SRMs with artificial intelligence (AI). This review fills a gap in the existing literature and represents a pioneering step into the uncharted territory of SRM-based encryption and anti-counterfeiting technologies.

Abstract
In terms of safety and emergency response, identifying hazardous gaseous acid chemicals is crucial for ensuring effective evacuation and administering proper first aid. However, current studies struggle to distinguish between different acid vapors and remain in the early stages of development. In this study, we propose an on-site monitorable acid vapor decoder, MOF-808-EDTA-Cu, integrating the robust MOF-808 with Cu-EDTA, functioning as a proton-triggered colorimetric decoder that translates the anionic components of corrosive acids into visible colors. The sensor exhibits a cyan-to-yellow shift when exposed to HCl vapor and can visually differentiate various acidic vapors (HF, HBr, and HI) through unique color changes. Furthermore, the compatibility of the MOF-based sensor with multiple metal ions having atomic-level dispersion broadens its discrimination range, enabling the identification of six different colorless acid vapors within a single sensor domain. Additionally, by incorporating a flexible polymer, the MOF-808-EDTA-Cu has been successfully processed into a portable miniaturized acid sensor, exhibiting distinct color changes that can be easily monitored by the naked eye and camera sensors. This provides experimental validation as a practical sensor capable of on-site 24-hour monitoring in the real world.

Abstract
With the escalating prevalence of terrorism and global environmental pollution, nitroaromatic compounds (NACs) have increasingly come into focus as the primary culprit. To counter these challenges, it is imperative to develop simple and efficient methods for detecting NACs. Considering the electron-deficient structure of NAC molecules, this paper constructed a novel three-dimensional In-MOF with permanent porosity using electron-rich organic molecules 4'-[1,2,2-tris(3',5'-dicarboxy[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)ethenyl]-[1,1'-biphenyl]-3,5-dicarboxylic acid (H8ETTB) for fluorescence detection by photoinduced electron transfer. The results indicated that In-ETTB can sensitively detect trace NACs in water. In-ETTB exhibited the best detection performance for 3-NP, achieving a Ksv value of 8.75 × 104 M-1 with a limit of detection of 0.27 μΜ in aqueous solution; this belongs to a relatively high level among the reported metal organic framework (MOF) materials. Subsequently, anti-interference experiments revealed that In-ETTB exhibits strong specificity fluorescence recognition of NACs, and it could still maintain its structural integrity and fluorescence emission intensity even after 7 cycles of testing. We confirmed that the fluorescence detection of NACs was due to a combined effect of competitive absorption and photoinduced electron transfer through experimental collaboration DFT calculations in detail. Meanwhile, the proton conductivity reached 2.45 × 10-2 S·cm-1 at 98% relative humidity and 90 °C, which is also a high level in MOFs. This work provides a universal method theoretical basis for designing NAC detectors with practical application prospects.

Abstract
Smart-sensing coatings that exhibit multistimulus response, rapid indication, and reusability are in urgent need to effectively enhance the practicability of coatings while accurately detecting metal corrosion. In this work, a reusable corrosion self-reporting coating with multiple pH and Fe3+ stimulus responses was first constructed by the integration of a composite fluorescent probe into the resin matrix. This composite sensor was constructed by combining a lanthanide metal-organic framework (Ln-MOF) based on terbium and trimeric acid (H3BTC) with graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets (GO@Tb-BTC). The incorporation of GO formed a sea-urchin-like structure, thereby increasing the specific surface area and active sites of the probe. The coatings were characterized by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), visual observation, and fluorescence spectrophotometry. The surface morphology, wettability, and adhesion of the coating samples were analyzed using SEM, XPS, hydrostatic contact angle test, and an adhesion test. EIS measurements in 3.5 wt % NaCl solution for 72 h demonstrated the superior corrosion protection performance of the 0.3 wt %/GO@Tb-BTC/WEP coating compared to blank coating, with the charge-transfer resistance reaching 4.33 × 107 Ω·cm2, which was 9.5 times higher than that of the pure coating. The bright green fluorescence of GO@Tb-BTC/WEP coating exhibited a turn-off response when there was an excess of OH-/H+, but it demonstrated a reversible turn-on fluorescence when the ambient pH returned to neutral. Furthermore, such Fe3+-triggered fluorescence quenching responded to concentrations as low as 1 × 10-6 M. The fluorescence quenching rate of both intact and damaged coatings surpassed that of visual and EIS detection methods. Significantly, the fluorescence in scratches was effectively quenched within 25 min using 0.3 wt %/GO@Tb-BTC/WPU coating for visual observation. GO@Tb-BTC demonstrated exceptional corrosion self-reporting capabilities in both epoxy and polyurethane systems, making it a versatile option beyond single-coating applications.

Abstract
Developing smart materials capable of solid-state multicolor photoluminescence (PL) switching in response to multistimuli is highly desirable for advanced anticounterfeiting. Here, a ternary MOF hybrid showing hydro-photo-thermo-responsive multicolor PL switching in the solid state is presented. This hybrid is constructed by co-immobilizing Eu3+ and methyl viologen (MV) cations within an anionic MOF via the cation-exchange approach. The confined guest cations are well arranged in the framework channels, facilitating the synergistic realization of stimuli-responsive multiple PL color-switching through intermolecular coupling. The hybrid undergoes a rapid and reversible PL color-switching from red to blue upon water simulation, which is achieved by activating the blue emission of the framework linker while simultaneously quenching the Eu3+ emission. Furthermore, the hybrid displays photo-thermo-responsive PL switching from red to dark. UV-light irradiation or heating triggers the chromic conversion of MV to its colored radical form, which exhibits perfect spectral overlap with Eu3+, thus activating Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) from Eu3+ to MV radicals and quenching the Eu3+ emission. Inspired by these results, PL morse patterns are designed and fabricated using a novel triple-level encryption strategy, showcasing the exciting potential of this hybrid in advanced anticounterfeiting applications.

Abstract
Stimuli-responsive emission color modulation in fluorescent metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) promises luminescence-ink-based security application, while task-specific functionality-engineered pores can aid fast-responsive, discriminative, and ultralow detection of harmful organo-aromatics in the aqueous phase. Considering practical applicability, a self-calibrated fluoro-switch between encrypted and decrypted states is best suited for antiforgery measures, whereas image-based monitoring of organo-toxins by repetitive and handy methods over multiple platforms endorses in-field sensory potential. Herein, we constructed a mixed-ligand based chemically stable and bilayered-pillar MOF from -NH2-hooked pyridyl linker and tricarboxylate ligand that embraces negatively charged [Cd3(μ2-OH)(COO)6] node and shows pore-space-partitioning by nitrogen-rich flanked organic struts. Owing to the presence of a self-calibrating triazolylamine moiety-grafted auxiliary linker, this anionic MOF delineates reversible and multicyclic fluoro-swapping between protonated-encrypted and deprotonated-decrypted domains in the alternative presence of acid and base. Such pH-triggered, site-specific luminescence variation is utilized to construct highly regenerative anticounterfeiting labels for vivid acronym encryption. The intense fluorescence signature of the material is further harnessed in extremely selective and quick responsive sensing of harmful feed additive roxarsone (ROX) and dichloran (DCNA) pesticide in highly recyclable fashion with significant quenching and nanomolar limits of detection (ROX: 52 ppb; DCNA: 26.8 ppb). Notably, the ultrasensitive fluoro-detection of both these organo-toxins is successfully demonstrated via a handy paper-strip method as well as on the vegetable surface for real-time monitoring. Comprehensive density functional theory studies validate the electron transfer mechanism through redistribution of molecular orbital energy levels by each of the targeted analytes in this electron-rich framework besides evidencing MOF-analyte supramolecular interactions.

Abstract
Nowadays, coordination polymers (CPs) are promising candidates as sensory materials for their high sensitivity, improved selectivity, fast responsive nature, as well as good recyclability. However, poor chemical stability often makes their practical usage limited. Herein, employing a mixed ligand approach, we constructed a chemically robust CP, {[Zn2L2(DPA)2]·3H2O}n (IITKGP-70, IITKGP stands for the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur), which exhibited excellent framework robustness not only in water but also over a broad range of pH solutions (pH = 3-11). The developed framework displayed high selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of trivalent Al3+ ions and toxic hexavalent Cr(VI)-oxo anions in an aqueous medium. The developed framework exhibited an aqueous medium Al3+ turn-on phenomenon with a limit of detection (LOD) value of 1.29 μM, whereas a turn-off effect was observed for toxic oxo-anions (Cr2O72- and CrO42-) having LOD values of 0.27 and 0.71 μM, respectively. Both turn-on and turn-off mechanisms are speculated via spectroscopic methods coupled with several ex situ studies. Such a multiresponsive nature (both turn-on and turn-off) for aqueous medium detection of targeted cations and anions simultaneously in a single platform coupled with high robustness, ease of scalability, recyclability, and fast-responsive nature makes IITKGP-70 highly fascinating as a sensory material for real-world applications.

Abstract
A multifaceted metal-organic framework (MOF) with task-specific site-engineered pores can promise high-temperature and moisture-tolerant capture and non-redox fixation of CO2 under mild conditions as well as ultrasensitive detection of carcinogenic contaminants in water. Herein, we report a pillar-bilayered MOF that holds a nanochannel with contrasting functionalities for both these sustainable applications with improved performance characteristics. The twofold entangled robust framework exhibits CO2 adsorption at elevated temperatures with considerable MOF-gas interaction. Interestingly, CO2 selectivity unveils nearly a 3-fold improvement upon the rise of temperature, affording a CO2/N2 value of 820 at 313 K, which outperforms many porous adsorbents. Additionally, breakthrough simulation establishes complete separation and attests the potential of this MOF in the separation of flue gas mixture. Importantly, minor CO2 loss during multiple capture-release cycles and under a relative humidity of 75% promise practical usability of the material. Density functional theory (DFT) not only portrays the atomistic level snapshots of temperature-triggered CO2 inclusion inside this microporous vessel alongside the role of diverse CO2-philic sites but also validates the basis of N2-phobicity of an azo-functionalized linker on such increased selectivity. The guest-free MOF further demonstrates non-redox and recyclable CO2 fixation with wide epoxide tolerance under solvent-free mild conditions and even works at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. The crucial roles of high-density acid-base sites in both adsorption and catalysis are supported by control experiments and by comparing the activity of an unfunctionalized MOF. The hydrolytic stability and strong luminescence signature benefit the framework in aqueous-phase selective and fast responsive detection of detrimental roxarsone (ROX) with high quenching (7.56 × 104 M-1) and very low sensitivity (68 nM). Apart from varying degrees of an energy-transfer mechanism, the fluorosensing of ROX is comprehensively supported by in-depth DFT studies that manifest alteration of MOF energy levels in the presence of organoarsenic compounds and depict MOF-analyte supramolecular interactions.

Abstract
Structural and functional expansion of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is fundamentally important because it not only enriches the structural chemistry of MOFs but also facilitates the full exploration of their application potentials. In this work, by employing a dual-site functionalization strategy to lock the ligand conformation, we designed and synthesized a pair of biphenyl tricarboxylate ligands bearing dimethyl and dimethoxy groups and fabricated their corresponding framework compounds through coordination with copper(II) ions. Compared to the monofunctionalized version, introduction of two side groups can significantly fix the ligand conformation, and as a result, the dual-methoxy compound exhibited a different network structure from the mono-methoxy counterpart. Although only one almost orthogonal conformation was observed for the two ligands, their coordination framework compounds displayed distinct topological structures probably due to different solvothermal conditions. Significantly, with a hierarchical cage-type structure and good hydrostability, the dimethyl compound exhibited promising practical application value for industrially important C2H2 separation and purification, which was comprehensively demonstrated by equilibrium/dynamic adsorption measurements and the corresponding Clausius-Clapeyron/IAST/DFT theoretical analyses.

Abstract
The misuse of organic pollutants such as nitrofuran antibiotics (NFAs) and 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline (DCN) has become a hot topic of global concern, and developing rapid, efficient, and accurate techniques for detecting NFAs and pesticides in water is a major challenge. Here, we designed a novel lead-based anion 2D metal-organic framework (MOF){[(CH3)2NH2]2[Pb(TCBPE)(H2O)2]}n (F3) with interlocking structures, in which TCBPE stands for 1,1,2,2-tetra(4-carboxylbiphenyl)ethylene. Powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis revealed that F3 has excellent chemical and solvent stability. It is worth noting that F3 has a grinding discoloration effect. The solvent-protected grinding approach achieved F3B with a high quantum yield (QY = 73.77%) and blue fluorescence, while the direct grinding method produced F3Y with a high quantum yield (QY = 37.27%) and yellow-green fluorescence. Importantly, F3B can detect NFAs in water rapidly and sensitively while remaining unaffected by other antibiotics. F3Y can identify DCN in water quickly and selectively while remaining unchanged by other pesticides. F3B demonstrated high selectivity and rapid response to NFAs at a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.26 μM, while F3Y indicated high selectivity and responded quickly to DCN in water at an LOD as low as 0.14 μM. The method was successfully applied to detect NFAs in actual water samples of the fish tanks and ponds as well as the pesticide DCN in soil samples. The recovery rates were 97.0-105.15% and 102.2-106.48%, and the relative standard deviations were 0.63-1.45% and 0.29-1.69%, respectively. In addition, F3B and F3Y can be made into fluorescent test papers for the visual detection of NFAs and DCN, respectively. Combined with experiments and density functional theory calculations, the mechanism of fluorescence quenching of MOFs by target analytes was also revealed.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) not only combine globally demanded renewable energy generation and environmental remediation onto a single platform but also rationalize structure-performance synergies to devise smarter materials with remarkable performance. The robust and non-interpenetrated cationic MOF exemplifies a unique bifunctional scaffold for the efficient electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and ultrasensitive monitoring of biohazards. The microporous framework containing Brønsted acid-functionalized [Co2(μ2-OH)(CO2)2] secondary building units (SBUs) exhibits remarkable OER performance in 1 M KOH, requiring 410 mV overpotential to obtain 10 mA cm-2 anodic current density, and a low Tafel slope of 55 mV/dec with 93.1% Faradaic efficiency. Apart from the high turnover frequency and electrochemically assessable surface area, steady OER performance over 500 cycles under potentiodynamic and potentiostatic conditions result in long-term catalyst durability. The highly emissive attribute from nitrogen-rich fluorescent struts benefits the MOF in recyclable and selective fluoro-detection of three biothiols (l-cysteine, homocysteine, and glutathione) in water with a fast response time. In addition to colorimetric monitoring in the solid and solution phases, control experiments validate size-exclusive biothiol speciation through molecular-dimension-mediated pore diffusion. The role of SBUs in the OER mechanism is detailed from density functional theory-derived free energy analysis, which also validates the importance of accessible N-sites in sensing via portraying framework-analyte supramolecular interactions.

Abstract
Two organometallic complexes with two and three-dimensional architectures were constructed by using multiple ligands and Zn(ii) ions: [Zn3(BTC)2(DTP)4(H2O)2]·(H2O)4 (Zn-1) (BTC = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid and DTP = 3,5-di(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)pyridine) and [Zn2(NTD)2(DTP)] (Zn-2) (NTD = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid). The as-prepared complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD), elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and fluorescence analysis. Fluorescence sensing tests revealed that the two complexes are effective, sensitive and selective toward cationic Fe3+ and anionic MnO4 - and Cr2O7 2-. During the antibiotic sensing process, cefixime (CFX) for Zn-1 and nitrofurantoin (NFT) for Zn-2 exhibited the highest quenching efficiencies. For sensing pesticides, the highest quenching efficiencies were exhibited by imidacloprid (IMI) toward Zn-1 and Zn-2. The fluorescence quenching of the complexes that was induced by antibiotics, pesticides and MnO4 - was attributed to both the inner filter effect (IFE) and the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) effect.

Abstract
A luminescent 3D metal-organic framework [Zn(NDA)(AMP)] = PUC1 (where, NDA = naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and AMP = 4-aminomethyl pyridine) was synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The synthesized 3D framework was fully characterized with the help of different analytical techniques such as SCXRD, FTIR, TGA, PXRD, SEM, BET, etc. PUC1 exhibited a strong emission peak at 371 nm when excited at 290 nm and the resulting emission was efficiently quenched in the presence of various organic explosive substances like pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), 2,4,6-trinitrophenyl-N-methylnitramine (Tetryl), trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX), and 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazoctane (HMX). PUC1 revealed highly sensitive and selective detection of PETN and Tetryl with high quenching constant values of 0.1 × 106 and 0.12 × 105 M-1 and low detection limits of 0.315 and 0.404 μM respectively. The strong luminescent properties of PUC1 lead to its successful application in the development of latent fingermarks on different non-porous surfaces using the powder dusting method. The accuracy and applicability of the synthesized material were determined by developing fingerprints by using secretions from eccrine and apocrine glands on a glass slide and various other surfaces, followed by dusting the surfaces. The results so obtained were found to be very accurate and promising.

Abstract
At present, the research of robot door opening method is basically realized by identifying the door handle through the synchronous sensing system on the premise that the bio-inspired mobile manipulator is located in front of the door. An adaptive door opening strategy of a bio-inspired mobile manipulator based on a synchronous sensing system is proposed. Firstly, the random delay distribution in clock synchronization technology is analyzed in detail, and its distribution is verified on the experimental platform of adjacent nodes. Based on the Gaussian distribution of random delay, the relative frequency offset and relative phase offset of adjacent nodes are calculated. The clock synchronization of network cable sensor nodes is realized. Secondly, based on the information data of synchronous sensing system, this article realizes target detection and tracking based on depth network. In addition, based on the sliding mode control theory, the dynamic model of the nonholonomic bio-inspired mobile manipulator is applied. Finally, a robust adaptive sliding mode control method for nonlinear systems with input gain uncertainty and unmatched uncertainty is proposed by combining adaptive backstepping with sliding mode control. By adding sliding mode control in the last step of adaptive backstepping, the uncertainty of the system is compensated, and the system trajectory is maintained on the specified sliding mode manifold. The tracking control and stability control of the nonholonomic bio-inspired mobile manipulator are simulated. The experimental and simulation results show that the control method proposed in this article is effective and feasible.

Abstract
NIR-emissive ESIPT active PBI-keto/enol assemblies have been developed for the detection of 2, 6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline (DCN). These assemblies show 'on-on' optical response towards DCN due to combined ESIPT-AIEE phenomenon with a detection limit of 1.65 nM. The potential of PBI-keto/enol assemblies to detect DCN has also been explored in grapes juice/grape residue, and soil for six consecutive days. Further, the biological applications of PBI-keto/enol assemblies to detect DCN in blood serum and to image DCN in live cells and to restrict the DCN induced cell death has been demonstrated in MG-63 cell lines.

Intrinsic-Unsaturation-Enriched Biporous and Chemorobust Cu(II) Framework for Efficient Catalytic CO 2 Fixation and Pore-Fitting Actuated Size-Exclusive Hantzsch Condensation with Mechanistic Validation. Abstract
Carbon dioxide (CO2) utilization and one-pot Hantzsch condensation denote two important protocols pertinent to sustainable agenda because of the obvious advantages like reduction in chemical usage, short reaction time, and minimum waste generation. To this end, the astute combination of optimum-sized pore structure with built-in Lewis acid center in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can bring about such reactions under energetically favorable conditions and offer a step forward to size-exclusive catalysis. The chemoresistant and twofold interpenetrated Cu(II) framework CSMCRI-13 (CSMCRI = Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute) is built from a C3-symmetric tricarboxylate ligand and an N,N'-donor linker that undergo incisive amalgamation of the paddle-wheel [Cu2(COO)4] secondary building unit (SBU) and the intrinsically unsaturated Cu(II) node with four coordination. The microporous structure features a dual-pore containing cage-like network with free oxygen-atom-enriched cavities and exhibits appreciable CO2 adsorption with moderate MOF-CO2 interaction in activated form (13a). Benefitting from both, the coordinatively frustrated metal center containing MOF acts as a highly synergistic and solvent-free catalyst in CO2 cycloaddition reaction under an 8 bar CO2 pressure at 70 °C in 6 h. The catalyst furnished admirable reactivity and fair recyclability with a wide range of substrates, wherein sterically encumbered and long-chain epoxides produced poor conversion. This MOF further executes highly regenerable Hantzsch condensation reaction under mild condition with superior activity to contemporary materials, where most of the 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives are additionally characterized through the single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Importantly, mechanistic proof of the tricomponent condensation involving built-in Lewis acid sites is validated from several control experiments and in-depth analytical studies. To the best of the single-step multicomponent reaction, substrate molecules having incompatible molecular dimension to that of pore size of the framework resulted insignificant conversion and demonstrated the first-ever pore-fitting-induced size selectivity in Hantzsch condensation.

Abstract
MOFs with their accessible voids/channels have been explored immensely for sensing due to their exclusive host-guest chemistry. However, unavailability of pores/voids in interpenetrating non-porous MOFs limits their applications in sensing. We herein report for the first time, hitherto, a non-porous MOF with an interpenetrating ladder structure for iodide sensing. A Co-bpe MOF was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction between cobalt nitrate and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (bpe) in methanol and tested against colorimetric sensing of halides. The supramolecular structure of the Co-bpe MOF was stabilized through strong hydrogen bonding. We propose a double nucleophilic substitution reaction mechanism for iodide detection, which is one of its own kind. While Co-bpe showed a significant color change from dark maroon to dark green in the presence of iodide, the rest of halides did not display any pronounced colorimetric effect. The limit of detection (LOD) of this material was found to be 2.7 × 10-7 M. This article focuses on the equal competency of non-porous MOF materials with the porous MOFs in sensing applications.
