Abstract
Graphene/polydopamine aerogels (GPDXAG, where X represents the weight ratio of DA·HCl to GO) were prepared by the chemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) using dopamine (DA) and l-ascorbic acid as reducing agents. During the gelation process, DA was polymerized to form polydopamine (PDA). The introduction of PDA in the gelation of aerogels led to a deeper reduction of GO and stronger interactions between graphene nanosheets forced by covalent cross-linking and noncovalent bonding including π-π stacking and hydrogen bonding. The weight ratio of DA·HCl to GO influencing the formation and morphology of GPDXAG was explored. With the increasing content of DA in gelation, the reduction of GO and the cross-linking degree of graphene nanosheets were enhanced, and the resulting GPDXAG had a more regular pore distribution. Additionally, introducing PDA into GPDXAG improved its hydrophobicity because of the adhesion of PDA to a network of aerogels. GPDXAG exhibited a higher removal efficiency for organic pollutants than the controlled graphene aerogels (GAG). Specifically, the adsorption capacity of GPDXAG for organic solvents was superior to that of GAG, and organic solvent was completely separated from the oil/water mixture by GPDXAG. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of GPDXAG for malachite green (MG) was measured to be 768.50 mg/g, which was higher than that for methyl orange (MO). In MG/MO mixed solutions, aerogels had obvious adsorption selectivity for the cationic dye. The adsorption mechanism of aerogels for MG was also discussed by simulating adsorption kinetic models and adsorption isothermal models.

Abstract
Stemming from the unique in-plane honeycomb lattice structure and the sp2 hybridized carbon atoms bonded by exceptionally strong carbon-carbon bonds, graphene exhibits remarkable anisotropic electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. To maximize the utilization of graphene's in-plane properties, pre-constructed and aligned structures, such as oriented aerogels, films, and fibers, have been designed. The unique combination of aligned structure, high surface area, excellent electrical conductivity, mechanical stability, thermal conductivity, and porous nature of highly aligned graphene aerogels allows for tailored and enhanced performance in specific directions, enabling advancements in diverse fields. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in highly aligned graphene aerogels and their composites. It highlights the fabrication methods of aligned graphene aerogels and the optimization of alignment which can be estimated both qualitatively and quantitatively. The oriented scaffolds endow graphene aerogels and their composites with anisotropic properties, showing enhanced electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties along the alignment at the sacrifice of the perpendicular direction. This review showcases remarkable properties and applications of aligned graphene aerogels and their composites, such as their suitability for electronics, environmental applications, thermal management, and energy storage. Challenges and potential opportunities are proposed to offer new insights into prospects of this material.

Abstract
The graphene-based aerogels with good electrical conductivity and compressibility have been reported. However, it is challenging to fabricate the graphene aerogel to have excellent mechanical stability for its application in wearable devices. Thus, inspired by macroscale arch-shaped elastic structures and the importance of crosslinking in microstructural stability, we synthesized the mechanically stable reduced graphene oxide aerogels with small elastic modulus by optimizing the reducing agent to make the aligned wrinkled microstructure in which physical crosslinking is dominant. We used L-ascorbic acid, urea, and hydrazine hydrate as reducing agents to synthesize the graphene aerogels rGO-LAA, rGO-Urea, and rGO-HH, respectively. Hydrazine hydrate was found to be best in enhancing the physical and ionic interaction among graphene nanoflakes to achieve a wavy structure with excellent fatigue resistance. Notably, the optimized rGO-HH aerogel maintained structural stability even after 1000 cycles of compression of 50% strain and decompression, showing 98.7% stress retention and 98.1% height retention. We also studied the piezoresistive properties of the rGO-HH aerogel and showed that the rGO-HH-based pressure sensor exhibited excellent sensitivity (~5.7 kPa-1) with good repeatability. Hence, a super-compressible and mechanically stable piezoresistive material for wearable functional devices was demonstrated by controlling the microstructure and surface chemistry of the reduced graphene oxide aerogel.

Abstract
Solar energy, as renewable energy, has paid extensive attention for solar thermal utilization due to its unique characteristics such as rich resources, easy access, clean, and pollution-free. Among them, solar thermal utilization is the most extensive one. Nanofluid-based direct absorption solar collectors (DASCs), as an important alternative method, can further improve the solar thermal efficiency. Notably, the stability of photothermal conversion materials and flowing media is critical to the performance of DASC. Herein, we first proposed novel Ti3C2Tx-IL-based nanofluids by the electrostatic interaction, which consists of functional Ti3C2Tx modified with PDA and PEI as a photothermal conversion material and ionic liquid with low viscosity as the flow medium. Ti3C2Tx-IL-based nanofluids exhibit excellent cycle stability, wide spectrum, and efficient solar energy absorption performance. Besides, Ti3C2Tx-IL-based nanofluids maintain liquid state in a range of -80 to 200 °C, and its viscosity was as low as 0.3 Pa·s at 0 °C. Moreover, the equilibrium temperature of Ti3C2Tx@PDA-IL at a very low mass fraction of 0.04% reached 73.9 °C under 1 Sun, indicating an excellent photothermal conversion performance. Furthermore, the application of nanofluids in photosensitive inks has been preliminarily explored, which is expected to play a role in the fields of injectable biomedical materials and photo/electric double-generation thermal and hydrophobic anti ice coatings.

Abstract
Graphene aerogels (GAs) combine the unique properties of two-dimensional graphene with the structural characteristics of microscale porous materials, exhibiting ultralight, ultra-strength, and ultra-tough properties. GAs are a type of promising carbon-based metamaterials suitable for harsh environments in aerospace, military, and energy-related fields. However, there are still some challenges in the application of graphene aerogel (GA) materials, which requires an in-depth understanding of the mechanical properties of GAs and the associated enhancement mechanisms. This review first presents experimental research works related to the mechanical properties of GAs in recent years and identifies the key parameters that dominate the mechanical properties of GAs in different situations. Then, simulation works on the mechanical properties of GAs are reviewed, the deformation mechanisms are discussed, and the advantages and limitations are summarized. Finally, an outlook on the potential directions and main challenges is provided for future studies in the mechanical properties of GA materials.

Mechanically Robust and Flexible GO/PI Hybrid Aerogels as Highly Efficient Oil Absorbents. Polymers (Basel) 2022; 14:polym14224903. Abstract
Herein, mechanically robust and flexible graphene oxide/polyimide (GO/PI) hybrid aerogels (GIAs) were fabricated by a facile method, in which the mixed suspensions of the water-soluble polyimide precursor and graphene oxide (GO) sheets were freeze-dried, which was followed by a routine thermal imidation process. The porous GIAs obtained not only exhibit excellent elasticity and extremely low density values (from 33.3 to 38.9 mg.cm-3), but they also possess a superior compressive strength (121.7 KPa). The GIAs could support a weight of up to 31,250 times of its own weight, and such a weight-carrying capacity is much higher than that of other typical carbon-based aerogels. Having such a porous structure, and high strength and toughness properties make GIAs ideal candidates for oil spill cleanup materials. The oil/organic solvents' absorption capacity ranges from 14.6 to 85, which is higher than that of most other aerogels (sponges). With their broad temperature tolerance and acidic stability, the unique multifunctional GIAs are expected to further extend their application range into extreme environments.
