Abstract
Under ultrasonication, cadmium nitrate tetrahydrates, ethyl nicotinate (EN), and potassium thiocyanate as connecting ligand self-assembled to form the nanosized supramolecular coordination polymer (NSCP1) and the crystalline supramolecular coordination polymer (SCP1) [Cd(EN)2(SCN)2]. Single crystal SCP1 X-ray diffraction (XRD) revealed that CdII has an octahedral shape. The network structure of SCP1 is composed of chair conformation cyclic [Cd2(SCN)2] n building blocks that form a one dimensional (1D) chain with bilaterally coordinated EN. The 1D-chain is joined to the other by extensive hydrogen bonds, which arrange the chains into a three-dimensional network. By stacking π-π, the strands are fluttering the three-dimensional (3D) network even more. Several structural characterization methods and spectral analyses were used to analyze SCP1 and NSCP1. The heterogeneous catalysts SCP1 and NSCP1 have been shown to display exceptionally strong catalytic activity against the breakdown of the designated contaminant, indigo carmine (IC) color in very short durations under ultraviolet (UV) or ultrasonic wave conditions. The photoluminescence probing approach was utilized to determine the reactive oxygen species and reaction process using the disodium salt of terephthalic acid.

Abstract
The use of 2-pyridyl oximes in metal complexes chemistry has been extensively investigated in the last few decades as a fruitful source of species with interesting magnetic properties. In this work, the initial combination of pyridine-2-amidoxime (pyaoxH2) and 2-methyl pyridyl ketoxime (mpkoH) with isonicotinic acid (HINA) and 3,5-pyrazole dicarboxylic acid (H3pdc) has provided access to three new compounds, [Ni4(INA)2(pyaox)2(pyaoxH)2(DMF)2] (1), [Co5(mpko)6(mpkoH)2(OMe)2(H2O)](ClO4)6 (2), and [Co5(OH)(Hpdc)5(H2pdc)] (3). 1 displays a square-planar metal topology, being the first example that bears simultaneously HINA and pyaoxH2 in their neutral or ionic form. The neighbouring Ni4 units in 1 are held together through strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular framework. 2 and 3 are mixed-valent Co4IIICoII and Co2IIICoII3 compounds with a bowtie and trigonal bipyramidal metal topology, accordingly. Direct current and alternate current magnetic susceptibility studies revealed that the exchange interactions between the NiII ions in 1 are ferromagnetic (J = 1.79(4) cm-1), while 2 exhibits weak AC signals in the presence of a magnetic field. The syntheses, crystal structures, and magnetic properties of 1-3 are discussed in detail.

Abstract
Herein, the synthesis and study of bifunctional coordination polymers (CPs) with both magnetic and photoluminescence properties, derived from a heterometallic environment, are reported. As a starting point, three isostructural monometallic CPs with the formula [M(μ-2ani)2 ]n (MII =Mn (1Mn ), Co (3Co ) and Ni (4Ni ); 2ani=2-aminonicotinate), crystallise as chiral 2D-layered structures stacked by means of supramolecular interactions. These compounds show high thermal stability in the solid state (above 350 °C), despite which, in aqueous solution, compound 1Mn is shown to partially transform into a novel 1D chain CP with the formula [Mn(2ani)2 (μ-H2 O)2 ]n (2Mn ). A study of the direct current (dc) magnetic properties of 1Mn , 3Co and 4Ni reveals a spin-canted structure derived from antisymmetric antiferromagnetic weak exchanges along the chiral network (as confirmed by DFT calculations) and magnetic anisotropy of the ions, in such a way that long-range ordering is observed with variable magnitude for the spin carriers. Moreover, compounds 3Co and 4Ni show no frequency-dependent alternating current (ac) susceptibility curves under zero dc field; this is characteristic behaviour of a glassy state that may be partially supressed for 3Co by applying an external dc field. To overcome long-range magnetic ordering, CoII ions are diluted in a diamagnetic ZnII -based matrix, which enables single-molecule magnet behaviour. Interestingly, this strategy allows a bifunctional Cox Zn1-x 2ani material, which is imbued with a strong photoluminescent emitting capacity, as characterised by an intense blue light followed by a green afterglow, to be obtained.

Abstract
In the present work, four new heterometallic coordination complexes, {[(CuL)2Mn(nic)(H2O)2](ClO4)(0.5H2O)}n (1), {[(CuL)2Cd(nic)(H2O)2](ClO4)(H2O)}n (2), [(CuL)2Mn(nic)2]·2CH3OH (3), and [(CuL)2Cd(nic)2]·2CH3OH (4) (where H2L = N,N'-bis(α-methylsalicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine and nic = nicotinate ion), have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. In complexes 1 and 2, the nicotinate ion acts as a bifunctional linker (N,O donor) and joins the linear trinuclear nodes to form 1D polymeric chains. However, in complexes 3 and 4, the nicotinate ion uses only the oxygen atoms of the carboxylic acid (O donor) to bind to the metal centers, forming discrete linear trinuclear units, while the pyridyl nitrogen (N donor atom) remains free. The dc magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the CuII and MnII ions are antiferromagnetically coupled in both 1 and 3, with exchange coupling constants (JMn-Cu) of -20.57 ± 0.08 and -9.38 ± 0.08 cm-1, respectively. Among the four complexes, 1 and 3 show catechol oxidase and phenoxazinone synthase like catalytic activities. The turnover numbers (kcat) of complexes 1 and 3 for catecholase activity are 1121 and 720 h-1, respectively, at an optimum pH of 8.0 and for phenoxazinone synthase activity are 429 and 398 h-1, respectively, at an optimum pH of 9.7. The higher kcat values of 1 for both reactions are attributable to a water molecule coordinated to the central MnII atom that facilitates the substrate-catalyst binding. An ESI-mass spectral analysis indicates that trinuclear heterometallic species, e.g., [(CuL)2Mn(nic)(H2O)]+ for 1 and [(CuL)2Mn(nic)]+ for 3, are the active species that bind to the substrate, and on that basis, probable mechanisms through the formation of radical intermediates have been proposed.

Abstract
Four novel coordination polymers (CPs) based on a new 4-(3,5-dicarboxylphenyl) picolinic acid ligands (H3L), [M3(L)2(H2O)6]·4H2O (M3 = Mn3, 1; Co3, 2; Ni3, 3, Co1.01Ni1.99, 4), have been hydrothermally synthesized, and structurally and magnetically characterized. In these isomorphous CPs, octahedrally coordinated metal ions are linked by the single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give linear trinuclear motifs. The motifs are connected through the other single syn-anti carboxylate bridge (μ-COO) to give a 2D (4,4) layer, and the layers are interlinked by the L ligands into 3D frameworks. Magnetic measurement indicates that antiferromagnetic interactions between metal ions are mediated through the single syn-anti carboxylate bridges in 1 and 2, while the same carboxylate bridges in 3 transmit ferromagnetic couplings. The bimetallic CP 4 shows interesting complicated magnetic behaviors due to the competition effect of Co(ii) and Ni(ii) ions.

Abstract
A 63 2D layer complex [Mn3Cl3(L3)]n·H2O (1) (L = pyrimidine-2-carboxylate) was obtained by assembling 2-cyanopyrimidine and manganese chloride, in which the L ligands were generated in situ. In 1 six-membered Mn rings were constructed from MnII ions and L ligands, which were connected to each other by double chloride anions affording a 2D layer. When the chloride anions in 1 were substituted partly by formate, [Mn4Cl3L4(HCO2)]n (2) was obtained. In 2, the L ligands bridge MnII to give a 1D chain, which was further connected by the double chloride anions and Cl/formate bridges to form a two-fold interpenetrated srs-net. Interestingly, 2 exhibits an obvious SHG response of approximately 0.8 times that of KDP. Furthermore, 2 is an antiferromagnet with a field induced spin flop transition.

Abstract
The cobalt(II) complex of 2-picolinic acid (Hpic), namely, [Co(pic)₂(H₂O)₂] · 2H₂O, was synthesized with the reaction of cobalt acetate and 2-picolinic acid as the reactants by solid-solid reaction at room temperature. The composition and structure of the complex were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC). The crystal structure of the complex belongs to monoclinic system and space group P2(1)/n, with cell parameters of a = 9.8468(7) Å, b = 5.2013(4) Å, c = 14.6041(15) Å, β = 111.745(6)°, V = 747.96(11) ų, Z = 2, D(c) = 1.666 g cm⁻³, R₁ = 0.0297, and wR₂ = 0.0831. In the title complex, the Co(II) ion is six-coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and two carboxyl O atoms from two 2-picolinic acid anions, and two O atoms from two H2O molecules, and forming a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The thermal decomposition processes of the complex under nitrogen include dehydration and pyrolysis of the ligand, and the final residue is cobalt oxalate at about 450°C.

Abstract
AbstractThis article reports the synthesis of novel, rare-earth coordination complexes with nicotinic acid. Three compounds with the general formula Ln2[(C5H4NCOO)6(H2O)4] (Ln = Yb, 1; Ln = Gd, 2; Ln = Nd, 3) were prepared from relatively cheap and readily available reactants. Their compositions and structure were characterized by IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The magnetic and thermogravimetric properties were also studied. The complexes consist of centrosymetric, dimeric molecules having all six nicotinato ligands coordinated with the central atom in the bidentate mode. The coordination environment of the Ln3+ for all three compounds is 8. Here we describe the crystal structure of Yb and Gd complexes with nicotinic acid.

Abstract
Assembly of 4,4'-oxybis(benzoic acid) (H(2)L) with manganese chloride in the presence of 2,2'-biphenyl (2,2'-bpy) affords a new coordination polymer [Mn(3)L(3)(2,2'-bpy)(2)](n) (1), in which the [MnL(2)]n layers are extended by L bridges resulting in a three-dimensional (3-D) coordination framework. The network structure of 1 has unusual (2,6)-connectivity and represents a new type of (8(12) · 12(3))(8)(3) topology. These identical and complementary networks are entangled to generate a self-penetrating supramolecular lattice. Moreover, the fluorescence spectrum of 1 exhibits fluorescent emission in the solution of methanol at room temperature. Electrochemical investigation illustrates the electrochemical properties of the title compound. The structure (C(62)H(40)Mn(3)N(4)O(15))(n) is monoclinic with a = 14.2304(18), b = 17.019(2), c = 25.805(3) Å, α = γ = 90, β = 92.932(2)° and space group C2/c.
