Abstract
We report a dynamic kinetic asymmetric transformation (DyKAT) of racemic aldehydes by Rh-catalyzed hydroacylation of acrylamides. This intermolecular hydroacylation generates 1,4-ketoamides with high enantio- and diastereoselectivity. DFT and experimental studies provide mechanistic insights and reveal an unexpected Rh-catalyzed pathway for aldehyde racemization. Our study represents a pioneering kinetic resolution by intermolecular hydroacylation and contributes to the growing field of stereoconvergent catalysis featuring C-C bond construction.

Abstract
Chiral phospholane ligands and catalysts have been widely applied in asymmetric catalysis and synthesis. However, the construction of the chiral phospholane skeleton remains challenging and primarily relies on the use of chiral auxiliaries or resolution. In this work, a highly enantioselective and diastereoselective synthesis of P-stereogenic phospholane oxides has been achieved through a cobalt-catalyzed desymmetric hydroalkylation strategy. This method enables the construction of two discrete stereocenters with excellent yields and enantiomeric excesses.

Abstract
Chiral phosphoramidates characterized by at least a P-N bond without a P-C bond demonstrate a significant applicative value within nucleoside phosphoramidate prodrugs. Despite the availability of methodologies for the selective construction of diverse chiral organophosphorus entities, achieving P-stereocenters solely substituted by heteroatoms often relies on diastereomeric synthesis. Here, we present a catalytic enantioselective desymmetrization strategy using an electrophilic phosphorus reagent with three leaving groups as a substrate, enabling a three-phase nucleophilic attack with various alcohols and amines. By generating a broad range of possible substituent combinations around phosphorus atoms, this synthetic strategy may expedite the synthesis and screening of biologically active phosphoramidates.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric C-P(III) bond formation is a direct method for the construction of P(III)-stereogenic centers; however, achieving high enantioselectivity remains a challenge. Herein, an unprecedented Cu-catalyzed dynamic kinetic resolution of secondary phosphine-boranes was successfully developed. This asymmetric C-P(BH3) coupling reaction provided the direct and highly enantioselective synthesis of P(III)-stereogenic centers, enabling the formation of chiral medium-sized benzophosphine-boranes (7-10-membered cycles). A mechanism of dynamic kinetic resolution involving the unusual rapid racemization of secondary phosphine-boranes has been proposed.

Abstract
P-stereogenic phosphorus compounds are essential across various fields, yet their synthesis via enantioselective P-C bond formation remains both challenging and underdeveloped. We report the first copper-catalyzed enantioselective hydrophosphorylation of alkynes, facilitated by a newly designed chiral 1,2-diamine ligand. Unlike previous methods that rely on kinetic resolution with less than 50 % conversion, our approach employs a distinct dynamic kinetic asymmetric transformation mechanism, achieving complete conversion of racemic starting materials. This reaction is compatible with a broad range of aromatic and aliphatic terminal alkynes, producing products with high yields (up to 95 %), exclusive cis selectivity, and exceptional regio- and enantioselectivity (>20 : 1 r.r. and up to 96 % ee). The resulting products were further transformed into a diverse array of enantioenriched P-stereogenic scaffolds. Preliminary mechanistic studies were conducted to elucidate the reaction details.

Abstract
Although methods for synthesizing chiral phosphorus scaffolds are available, the potential of this molecular chirality remains largely unexplored. Herein, we present a remote desymmetrization of prochiral biaryl phosphine oxides through an organocatalytic asymmetric arylation. This metal-free approach enables the efficient synthesis of a wide range of densely functionalized P(V)-stereogenic compounds with good to excellent yields and satisfactory enantioselectivities. Mechanistic studies reveal that hydrogen bonding and ion-pairing interactions are crucial for achieving precise stereocontrol in this transformation.

Abstract
Saturated heterocycles, which incorporate S and O heteroatoms, serve as fundamental frameworks in a diverse array of natural products, bioactive compounds, and pharmaceuticals. Herein, we describe a unique cobalt-catalyzed approach integrated with a desymmetrization strategy, facilitating precise and enantioselective remote hydroalkylation of unactivated heterocyclic alkenes. This method delivers hydroalkylation products with high yields and excellent stereoselectivity, representing good efficiency in constructing alkyl chiral centers at remote C3-positions within five-membered S/O-heterocycles. Notably, the broad scope and good functional group tolerance of this asymmetric C(sp3)-C(sp3) coupling enhance its applicability.

Abstract
The importance of P-stereogenic heterocycles has been widely recognized with their extensive use as privileged chiral ligands and bioactive compounds. The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of P-stereogenic phosphindane derivatives, however, remains a challenging task. Herein, we report a catalytic kinetic resolution of phosphindole oxides via rhodium-catalyzed diastereo- and enantioselective conjugate addition to access enantiopure P-stereogenic phosphindane and phosphindole derivatives. This kinetic resolution method features high efficiency (s factor up to >1057), excellent stereoselectivities (all >20:1 dr, up to >99% ee), and a broad substrate scope. The obtained chiral phosphindane oxides exhibit promising therapeutic efficacy in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), and compound 3az is found to significantly inhibit renal cyst growth both in vitro and in vivo, thus ushering in a promising scaffold for ADPKD drug discovery. This study will not only advance efforts towards the asymmetric synthesis of challenging P-stereogenic heterocycles, but also surely inspire further development of P-stereogenic entities for bioactive small-molecule discovery.

Abstract
The reaction of 4/5-carbonyl-cycloalkenone 1 or its achiral isomer 1' with organoboronic acid 2 in the presence of a chiral diene (S,S)-Fc-tfb-rhodium catalyst gave disubstituted trans-cycloalkanone 3 with high diastereo- and enantioselectivity. This highly efficient dynamic kinetic resolution is achieved by fast racemization of 1 through the formation of a dienolate followed by kinetic resolution with the chiral catalyst. The utility is demonstrated by the synthesis of key intermediates en route to (-)-cannabidiol.

Abstract
Phospholane-phosphites are known to show highly unusual selectivity towards branched aldehydes in the hydroformylation of terminal alkenes. This paper describes the synthesis of hitherto unknown unsaturated phospholene borane precursors and their conversion to the corresponding phospholene-phosphites. The relative stereochemistry of one of these ligands and its Pd complex was assigned with the aid of X-ray crystal structure determinations. These ligands were able to approach the level of selectivity observed for phospholane-phosphites in the rhodium-catalysed hydroformylation of propene. High-pressure infra-red (HPIR) spectroscopic monitoring of the catalyst formation revealed that whilst the catalysts showed good thermal stability with respect to fragmentation, the C=C bond in the phospholene moiety was slowly hydrogenated in the presence of rhodium and syngas. The ability of this spectroscopic tool to detect even subtle changes in structure, remotely from the carbonyl ligands, underlines the usefulness of HPIR spectroscopy in hydroformylation catalyst development.

Abstract
Catalytic asymmetric methods for the synthesis of synthetically versatile P-stereogenic building blocks offer an efficient and practical approach for the diversity-oriented preparation of P-chiral phosphorus compounds. Herein, we report the first nickel-catalyzed synthesis of P-stereogenic secondary aminophosphine-boranes by the asymmetric addition of primary phosphines to azo compounds. We further demonstrate that the P-H and P-N bonds on these phosphanyl hydrazine building blocks can be reacted sequentially and stereospecifically to access various P-stereogenic compounds with structural diversity.

Abstract
Novel-substituted pyrrolidine derivatives are widely used in drugs and bioactive molecules. The efficient synthesis of these valuable skeletons, especially enantiopure derivatives, is still recognized as a key bottleneck to overcome in chemical synthesis. Herein, we report a highly efficient catalyst-tuned regio- and enantioselective hydroalkylation reaction for the divergent synthesis of chiral C2- and C3-alkylated pyrrolidines through desymmetrization of the readily available 3-pyrrolines. The catalytic system consists of CoBr2 with a modified bisoxazoline (BOX) ligand, which can achieve the asymmetric C(sp3)-C(sp3) coupling via the distal stereocontrol, providing a series of C3-alkylated pyrrolidines in high efficiency. Moreover, the nickel catalytic system allows the enantioselective hydroalkylation to synthesize the C2-alkylated pyrrolidines through the tandem alkene isomerization/hydroalkylation reaction. This divergent method uses readily available catalysts, chiral BOX ligands, and reagents, delivering enantioenriched 2-/3-alkyl substituted pyrrolidines with excellent regio- and enantioselectivity (up to 97% ee). We also demonstrate the compatibility of this transformation with complex substrates derived from a series of drugs and bioactive molecules in good efficiency, which offers a distinct entry to more functionalized chiral N-heterocycles.

Abstract
Copper-catalyzed dynamic kinetic resolution of secondary phosphine oxides has been successfully developed, providing a general method for the gram-scale enantioselective synthesis of P-stereogenic cyclic phosphine oxides with high yields and high enantioselectivities. The products could be easily reduced to the corresponding useful P(III)-stereogenic cyclic phosphines. A mechanism of the dynamic kinetic resolution involving the unusual rapid racemization of SPOs has been proposed.

Abstract
Synthesis of chiral phosphorus compounds from readily available substrates by a facile method is an attractive strategy. In this study, an efficient route for copper-catalyzed asymmetric boroprotonation of phosphinylallenes with bis(pinacolato)diboron with high regioselectivity was developed, affording chiral allylphosphine oxides in high yields with high enantioselectivities of up to 98% ee. The synthetic utility was further demonstrated by the facile transformation of the chiral allylphosphine oxides to several stereospecific products.

Abstract
Chiral bisphosphine ligands are of key importance in transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of optically active products. However, the transition metals typically used are scarce and expensive noble metals, while the synthetic routes to access chiral phosphine ligands are cumbersome and lengthy. To make homogeneous catalysis more sustainable, progress must be made on both fronts. Herein, we present the first catalytic asymmetric hydrophosphination of α,β-unsaturated phosphine oxides in the presence of a chiral complex of earth-abundant manganese(i). This catalytic system offers a short two-step, one-pot synthetic sequence to easily accessible and structurally tunable chiral 1,2-bisphosphines in high yields and enantiomeric excess. The resulting bidentate phosphine ligands were successfully used in asymmetric catalysis as part of earth-abundant metal based organometallic catalysts. Chiral bisphosphine ligands are of key importance in transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of optically active products. Mn(i)-catalyzed hydrophosphination offers a two-step, one-pot synthetic sequence to access chiral 1,2-bisphosphines.![]()

Abstract
The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of P-chiral phosphorus compounds is an important way to construct P-chiral ligands. Herein, we report a new strategy that adopts the pyridinyl moiety as the coordinating group in the cobalt-catalysed asymmetric nucleophilic addition/alkylation of secondary phosphine oxides. A series of tertiary phosphine oxides were generated with up to 99 % yield and 99.5 % ee, and with broad functional-group tolerance. Mechanistic studies reveal that (R)-secondary phosphine oxides preferentially interact with the cobalt catalysts to produce P-stereogenic compounds.

Abstract
Whereas there is a significant interest in the rapid construction of diversely substituted saturated heterocycles, direct and modular access is currently limited to the mono-, 2,3-, or 3,4-substitution pattern. This Communication describes the straightforward and modular construction of 2,4-substituted saturated heterocycles from readily available materials in a highly stereo- and regioselective manner, which sets the stage for numerous readily accessible drug motifs. The strategy relies on chain walking catalysis.

Abstract
The practical synthesis of P-stereogenic tertiary phosphines, which have wide applications in asymmetric catalysis, materials, and pharmaceutical chemistry, represents a significant challenge. A regio- and enantioselective hydrophosphination using cheap and ubiquitous alkynes catalyzed by a nickel complex was designed, in which the toxic and air-sensitive secondary phosphines were prepared in situ from bench-stable secondary phosphine oxides. This methodology has been demonstrated with unprecedented substrate scope and functional group compatibility to afford electronically and structurally diversified P(III) compounds. The products could be easily converted into various precursors of bidentate ligands and organocatalysts, as well as a variety of transition-metal complexes containing both P- and metal-stereogenic centers.

Abstract
A copper(I)-catalyzed asymmetric alkylation of HPAr1Ar2 with alkyl halides is uncovered, which provides an array of P-stereogenic phosphines in generally high yield and enantioselectivity. The electrophilic alkyl halides enjoy a broad substrate scope, including allyl bromides, propargyl bromide, benzyl bromides, and alkyl iodides. Moreover, 11 unsymmetrical diarylphosphines (HPAr1Ar2) serve as competent pronucleophiles. The present methodology is also successfully applied to catalytic asymmetric double and triple alkylation, and the corresponding products were obtained in moderate diastereo- and excellent enantioselectivities. Some 31P NMR experiments indicate that bulky HPPhMes exhibits weak competitively coordinating ability to the Cu(I)-bisphosphine complex, and thus the presence of stoichiometric HPAr1Ar2 does not affect the enantioselectivity significantly. Therefore, the high enantioselectivity in this reaction is attributed to the high performance of the unique Cu(I)-(R,RP)-TANIAPHOS complex in asymmetric induction. Finally, one monophosphine and two bisphosphines prepared by the present reaction are employed as efficient chiral ligands to afford three structurally diversified Cu(I) complexes, which demonstrates the synthetic utility of the present methodology.

Abstract
The C-C bond formation reaction represents a fundamental and important transformation in synthetic chemistry, and exploring new types of C-C bond formation reactions is recognized as appealing, yet challenging. Herein, we disclose the first example of rhodium-catalyzed dealkenylative arylation of alkenes with arylboronic compounds, thereby providing an unconventional access to bi(hetero)aryls with excellent chemoselectivity. In this method, C(aryl)-C(alkenyl) and C(alkenyl)-C(alkenyl) bonds in various alkenes and 1,3-dienes can be cleaved via a hydrometalation and followed by β-carbon elimination pathway for Suzuki-Miyaura reactions. Furthermore, a series of novel organic fluorescent molecules with excellent photophysical properties has been efficiently constructed with this protocol.

Abstract
Two synthetic protocols for the conversion of 1-phenylphosphinan-4-ones to novel P-stereogenic 1-phenylphosphin-2-en-4-ones by enantioselective deprotonation followed by oxidation and by asymmetric organocatalytic halogenation accompanied by elimination have been developed. These two-step one-pot transformations provide convenient access to optically active 1-phenylphosphin-2-en-4-one 1-sulfide and 1-phenylphosphin-2-en-4-one 1-oxide of 96 and 55% enantiomeric purities, respectively.

Abstract
A novel and efficient desymmetrizing asymmetric ortho-selective mono-bromination of bisphenol phosphine oxides under chiral squaramide catalysis was reported. Using this asymmetric ortho-bromination strategy, a wide range of chiral bisphenol phosphine oxides and bisphenol phosphinates were obtained with good to excellent yields (up to 92%) and enantioselectivities (up to 98.5 : 1.5 e.r.). The reaction could be scaled up, and the synthetic utility of the desired P-stereogenic compounds was proved by transformations and application in an asymmetric reaction.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the asymmetric hydroarylation and hydroalkenylation of benzo[b]thiophene 1,1-dioxides with organoboranes has been developed. The combination of a rhodium(I) precatalyst and a chiral diene ligand constitutes the catalytic system, which enables the facile synthesis of 2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene 1,1-dioxides in good yields with high enantioselectivities. The merging of this asymmetric hydroarylation with the downstream alkylations delivers 2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene 1,1-dioxides that contain two continuous quaternary stereocenters with high enantioselectivities in a diastereodivergent manner.

Abstract
The synthesis of P-stereogenic building blocks is extremely difficult. Herein we report an efficient kinetic resolution of secondary phosphine oxides via a Le-Phos-catalyzed asymmetric allylation reaction with Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates. This method provides facile access to enantioenriched secondary and tertiary P-chiral phosphine oxides with broad substrate scope, both of which could serve as P-stereogenic synthons, and can be rapidly incorporated into a given scaffold bearing a P-stereocenter. The highly desirable late stage modifications demonstrate the practicability of our method and can be a critical contribution to obtaining optimal P-chiral catalysts and ligands.

Abstract
Despite the importance of P-chiral organophosphorus compounds in asymmetric catalysis, transition metal-catalyzed methods for accessing P-chiral phosphine derivatives are still limited. Herein, a catalytic enantioselective method for the synthesis of P-stereogenic alkenylphosphinates is developed through asymmetric hydrophosphorylation of alkynes. This process is demonstrated for a wide range of racemic phosphinates and leads to diverse P-stereogenic alkenylphosphinates directly.

Abstract
A series of 1-substituted-3-methyl-2-phospholene oxides was prepared from the corresponding 3-phospholene oxides by double bond rearrangement. The 2-phospholene oxides could be obtained by heating the 3-phospholene oxides in methanesulfonic acid, or via the formation of cyclic chlorophosphonium salts. Whereas mixtures of the 2- and 3-phospholene oxides formed, when the isomerization of 3-phospholene oxides was attempted under thermal conditions, or in the presence of a base. The mechanisms of the various double bond migration pathways were elucidated by quantum chemical calculations.

Abstract
1-Phenylphosphol-2-ene 1-oxide is effectively resolved by L-menthyl bromoacetate to afford both SP and RP enantiomers of 1-phenylphosphol-2-ene 1-oxide on a multigram scale. The resolved 1-phenylphosphol-2-ene oxide has been found to undergo face-selective and endo-selective cycloadditions with a series of acyclic and cyclic dienes to produce enantiopure P-stereogenic C-P heterocycles of hexahydrophosphindole and hexahydrobenzophosphindole as well as phospha[5.2.1.02,6]decene and phospha[5.2.2.02,6]undecene structures. Conversions of these cycloadducts to the fully saturated heterocyclic systems as well as to their P (III), P = S, P = Se and P-BH3 derivatives have been demonstrated to occur with retention of configuration and preservation of configurational homogeneity at P. A perplexing case of stereomutation at P during reduction of a tricyclic β-hydroxy phosphine oxide by PhSiH3 at 80 °C has been recorded.

Abstract
We report the highly enantioselective synthesis of P-chiral tertiary phosphine oxides featuring an ethynyl group via Cu(i)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition. Newly developed chiral pyridinebisoxazolines (PYBOX) bearing a bulky C4 shielding group play an important role in achieving excellent enantioselectivity while suppressing side bis-triazoles formation in desymmetrizing prochiral diethynylphosphine oxides. Notably, by tuning the size of the C4 shielding group, it is possible to achieve excellent remote enantiofacial control in desymmetrizing phosphole oxide-diynes with the prochiral P-center farther from the ethynyl group by four covalent bonds. Time-dependent enantioselectivity is observed for these desymmetric CuAAC reactions, suggesting a synergic combination of a desymmetrization and a kinetic resolution, and our ligands prove to be better than unmodified PYBOX in both steps. This finding contributes to a highly enantioselective kinetic resolution of racemic ethynylphosphine oxides. The resulting chiral ethynylphosphine oxides are versatile P-chiral synthons, which can undergo a number of diversifying reactions to enrich structural diversity.

Abstract
Phosphahelicenes with thiophosphinic acid and ester functions have been obtained by the oxidative photocyclisation of olefins bearing both a benzophenanthrene and a benzophosphole unit. When the method has been extended to olefins bearing a partially saturated benzophospholene unit, a divergent regioselectivity of the photocyclisation step has been observed, leading to new helicenes in which the phosphorus function is located on the external rim of the helical backbone. The observed regioselectivity correlates well with the free-valence numbers of the atoms involved in the photocyclisation reaction (DFT calculations).

Abstract
In this work, an efficient palladium-catalyzed Heck-type reaction was successfully used to synthesize a wide range of monoaryl- or diaryl-substituted P-ligands with excellent yields and diastereoselectivity (up to 98% yield, dr >20:1). The preliminary mechanistic studies demonstrated that it possibly underwent a cationic Heck reaction that was assisted by silver salt, and it revealed the significant role of P(O)Ar2 for excellent yields and diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
A highly efficient kinetic resolution and dynamic kinetic resolution of chromene is reported for the first time and they procced by a rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydroarylation pathway. This new approach offers versatile access to various chiral 2,3-diaryl-chromanes containing vicinal stereogenic centers, as well as the recovered chiral flavenes, in high yields with excellent ee values (s factor up to 532). Particularly noteworthy is that this strategy can be further extended to the establishment of a dynamic version of the kinetic resolution of chromene acetals and allows complete access to chiral isoflavanes and α-aryl hydrocoumarins.

Abstract
Two catalytic asymmetric vinylogous aldol-type reactions of aldehydes with allyl phosphonate and allyl sulfone have been uncovered in good to high yields for the first time. The bulky ligand-(R)-DTBM-SEGPHOS-was found to be the key to perfectly control both regio- and enantioselectivities. Transformations of the vinylogous products (including Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons and Julia olefinations) were successfully realized by virtue of the phosphonate and sulfone moieties. Moreover, the present methodology was successfully applied in the asymmetric synthesis of natural products.
