Abstract
Multicomponent reactions (MCRs), highly sought-after methods to produce atom-, step-, and energy-economic organic syntheses, have been developed extensively. However, catalytic asymmetric MCRs, especially those involving radical species, remain largely unexplored owing to the difficulty in stereoselectively regulating the extraordinarily high reactivity of open-shell radical species. Herein, we report a conceptually novel catalytic asymmetric three-component radical cascade reaction of readily accessible glycine esters, α-bromo carbonyl compounds and 2-vinylcyclopropyl ketones via synergistic photoredox/Brønsted acid catalysis, in which three sequential C-C (σ/π/σ) bond-forming events occurred through a radical addition/ring-opening/radical-radical coupling protocol, affording an array of valuable enantioenriched unnatural α-amino acid derivatives bearing two contiguous stereogenic centers and an alkene moiety in moderate to good yield with high diastereoselectivity, excellent enantioselectivity and good E-dominated geometry under mild reaction conditions. The radical relay cascade process, especially a unique proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET)-promoted radical-radical coupling, is supported by mechanistic investigations and quantum mechanics calculations and should garner broad interest and further inspire the development of asymmetric multicomponent radical reactions.

Abstract
An efficient palladium-catalyzed N-allylic alkylation of pyrazoles and unactivated vinylcyclopropanes is demonstrated, affording various N-alkyl pyrazoles in ≤99% yield. This protocol displays high atom economy, a broad range of substrates, and excellent regioselectivity and stereoselectivity. Late-stage modification of bioactive molecules, scaled-up reaction, and divergent derivatization documented the practicability of this methodology. The preliminary mechanistic investigation hinted that the Pd-H species promotes the ring opening of cyclopropanes.

Abstract
Catalytic asymmetric transformation of donor-acceptor cyclopropanes (DACs) has been proven to be a highly valuable and robust strategy to construct diverse types of enantioenriched molecules. However, the use of 1,1,2,2-tetrasubstituted DACs to form products bearing quaternary stereocenters remains a long-term unsolved challenge. Here, we report the copper-catalyzed asymmetric aminative ring opening of tetrasubstituted alkynyl DACs that delivers a myriad of α-tertiary amines with high levels of enantioselectivities. The alkyne, amine, and ester moieties within the products enable diverse further applications, including the asymmetric synthesis of bioactive molecules. Mechanistic studies indicate that the zwitterionic intermediate bearing a copper-acetylide unit plays a key role in the process, which represents a new mode for achieving catalytic asymmetric transformation of DACs.

Abstract
In the presence of Wilkinson's catalyst, the N-sulfinyl metalloenamines derived from NH-deprotonation of β,β-disubstituted enesulfinamides undergo nucleophilic allylic substitution with allyl carbonate, affording α-allylated ketimines with high stereoselectivity. These allylation products possess challenging acyclic quaternary stereocenters containing one allyl group and two alkyl groups that are both sterically and electronically similar (e.g., Me and Et). By utilizing appropriate stereoisomers of enesulfinamides, it becomes feasible to selectively access each of the four potential stereoisomers of the allylation products, thereby facilitating the selective synthesis of stereoisomers of α-tertiary chiral amines featuring a β-quaternary stereocenter through imino nucleophilic addition.

Abstract
The asymmetric functionalization of unstrained C(sp3)-C(sp3) bonds could be a powerful strategy to stereoselectively reconstruct the backbone of an organic compound, but such reactions are rare. Although allylic substitutions have been used frequently to construct C-C bonds by the cleavage of more reactive C-X bonds (X is usually an O atom of an ester) by transition metals, the reverse process that involves the replacement of a C-C bond with a C-heteroatom bond is rare and generally considered thermodynamically unfavorable. We show that an unstrained, inert allylic C-C σ bond can be converted to a C-N bond stereoselectively via a designed solubility-control strategy, which makes the thermodynamically unfavorable process possible. The C-C bond amination occurs with a range of amine nucleophiles and cleaves multiple classes of alkyl C-C bonds in good yields with high enantioselectivity. A novel resolution strategy is also reported that transforms racemic allylic amines to the corresponding optically active allylic amine by the sequential conversion of a C-N bond to a C-C bond and back to a C-N bond. Mechanistic studies show that formation of the C-N bond is the rate-limiting step and is driven by the low solubility of the salt formed from the cleaved alkyl group in a nonpolar solvent.

Abstract
Herein, we describe a two-step, cis-diastereoselective synthesis of indoline-2,3-fused chromans from 3-substituted indoles. The method proceeds without intermediacy of ortho-quinone methides and leverages the dual function of TBS-protected 2-hydroxybenzyl iodides both as highly reactive alkylating agents in a t-BuONa/Et3B-promoted dearomative alkylation step and as a source of masked phenoxide nucleophiles in a subsequent TBAF-induced one-pot deprotection-cyclization step of the resulting indolenines. Importantly, this two-step protocol can also be extended to access indoline-2,3-fused tetrahydropyrans. These syntheses of indoline-2,3-fused chromans and tetrahydropyrans proceed with operational convenience, use easily accessible substrates and reagents, and feature broad substrate scope, high yields and complete diastereoselectivity. Furthermore, the synthesized products have the potential to undergo late-stage functionalization.

Abstract
We describe a Rh(I) catalyzed asymmetric ring opening of racemic vinyl cyclopropanes using aryl boronic acids as C-nucleophiles. When ferrocene-based chiral bisphosphines are used as ligands, the products are obtained with regioselectivities typically 99:1 r.r. and ee's generally between 88 and 96%. A wide range of aryl boronic acids can be used, and the products can be converted into a variety of targets. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicate that Zn(OTf)2 plays a significant role in the reaction by promoting rhodium-ligand complex formation and accelerating the reaction. We expect this method and these mechanistic insights to be useful in the development of new asymmetric methods.

Abstract
Oxazocines are key structural intermediates in the synthesis of natural products and pharmaceutical molecules. However, the synthesis of oxazocines especially in a highly enantioselective manner, is a long-standing formidable challenge due to unfavorable energetics involved in cyclization. Herein, a series of new PNP-Ligand P-chiral stereocenter is first designed and synthesized, called MQ-Phos, and successfully applied it in the Pd-catalyzed enantioselective higher-order formal [4+4]-cycloaddition of α, β-unsaturated imines with 2-(hydroxymethyl)-1-arylallyl carbonates. The reaction features mild conditions, excellent regio- and enantiocontrol and a broad substrate scope (54 examples). Various medium-sized rings can be afforded in moderate to excellent yields (up to 92%) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee). The newly developed MQ-Phos is critical for synthesis of the medium-sized ring in excellent catalytic reactivity and enantioselectivity.

Abstract
The gold(I)-catalyzed dearomative cyclopentannulation of various indoles with 2-ethynyl-1,3-dithiolane is reported. The method generates three new stereocenters with excellent control of relative stereochemistry and is tolerant of diverse functionalization and substitution patterns on the indoles. The obtained cyclopentane-fused indolines allow for interesting subsequent synthetic manipulations, giving rise to fully substituted cyclopentanes with control of the relative stereochemistry of all five stereocenters. The reported reaction illustrates and elucidates a mechanistic dichotomy underlying gold(I)-catalyzed reactions of 2-ethynyl-1,3-dithiolane.

Abstract
Five-carbon (C5) units are the fundamental building blocks that constitute a multitude of natural products. Herein we report an unprecedented unusual C5 functionalization of indole regioselectively at the C-2-position enabled by a (2-pyridyl)sulfonyl-directing palladium-catalyzed dehydrogenative strategy with a bulk chemical 2-methyl-2-butene as a C5 source. Compared to typical C5 functionalization using pentenyl alcohols, carbonates, borates, or halides as the C5 source, the protocol not only has a low cost advantage but also is of atom and step economy.

Abstract
This article describes the development of a nickel-catalyzed regio- and diastereoselective formal [3+2] cycloaddition between N-substituted indoles and donor-acceptor cyclopropanes to synthesize cyclopenta[b]indoles. Optimized reaction conditions provide the desired nitrogen-containing cycloadducts in up to 93% yield and dr 8.6:1 with complete regioselectivity. The substrate scope showed high tolerance to various substituted indoles and cyclopropanes, resulting in the synthesis of six new cyclopenta[b]indoles and the isolation of five derivatives previously reported in the literature. In addition, a mechanistic proposal for the reaction was studied through online reaction monitoring by ESI-MS, allowing for the identification of the reactive intermediates in the Ni(II) catalyzed process. X-ray crystallography confirmed the structure and relative endo stereochemistry of the products. This method enables the fast and efficient construction of fused indolines from readily accessible starting materials.

Abstract
This review provides an in-depth analysis of recent advances and strategies employed in the Pd-catalysed asymmetric allylic alkylation (Pd-AAA) of nucleophilic prochiral heterocycles. The review is divided into sections each focused on a specific family of heterocycle, where optimisation data and reaction scope have been carefully analysed in order to bring forward specific reactivity and selectivity trends. The review eventually opens on how computer-based technologies could be used to predict an ideally matched catalytic system for any given substrate. This user-guide targets chemists from all horizons interested in running a Pd-AAA reaction for the preparation of highly enantioenriched heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract
An axially chiral N,N-ligand developed from a [1,1'-binaphthalene]-2,2'-diol (BINOL)-based skeleton and phenanthroline is found to be capable of promoting Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic amination and alkylation of allyl acetates. The reaction is compatible with cyclic and acyclic secondary amines, primary aliphatic amines, malononitrile, and dialkyl malonates, affording the corresponding chiral products in up to 99% yield and with up to >99% enantiomeric excess.

Abstract
Catalytic, reductive C-C bond formation between alkenes and vinyl cyclopropane (VCP) through hydrogen atom transfer (MHAT) is developed. Despite VCP's use as probes in radical-clock experiments, translation of this manifold into synthetic methods for accessing elusive C-C bonds remains largely unexplored. This work represents the first foray into this front where the high chemoselectivity of MHAT for alkene over VCP was pivotal for realizing the strategy. This method exhibits a broad scope, high functional group tolerance, and useful applications.

Abstract
Prenylated and reverse-prenylated indolines are privileged scaffolds in numerous naturally occurring indole alkaloids with a broad spectrum of important biological properties. Development of straightforward and stereoselective methods to enable the synthesis of structurally diverse prenylated and reverse-prenylated indoline derivatives is highly desirable and challenging. In this context, the most direct approaches to achieve this goal generally rely on transition-metal-catalyzed dearomative allylic alkylation of electron-rich indoles. However, the electron-deficient indoles are much less explored, probably due to their diminished nucleophilicity. Herein, a photoredox-catalyzed tandem Giese radical addition/Ireland-Claisen rearrangement is disclosed. Diastereoselective dearomative prenylation and reverse-prenylation of electron-deficient indoles proceed smoothly under mild conditions. An array of tertiary α-silylamines as radical precursors is readily incorporated in 2,3-disubstituted indolines with high functional compatibility and excellent diastereoselectivity (>20:1 d.r.). The corresponding transformations of the secondary α-silylamines provide the biologically important lactam-fused indolines in one-pot synthesis. Subsequently, a plausible photoredox pathway is proposed based on control experiments. The preliminary bioactivity study reveals a potential anticancer property of these structurally appealing indolines.

Abstract
Herein, we report a multistep one-pot reaction of substituted pyridines leading to N-protected tetrahydropyridines with outstanding enantioselectivity (up to 97% ee). An iridium(I)-catalyzed dearomative 1,2-hydrosilylation of pyridines enables the use of N-silyl enamines as a new type of nucleophile in a subsequent palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation. This telescoped process overcomes the intrinsic nucleophilic selectivity of pyridines to synthesize enantioenriched, C-3-substituted tetrahydropyridine products that have been otherwise challenging to access.

Abstract
A molybdenum-mediated reductive hydroamination of vinylcyclopropanes with nitroarenes has been developed. A broad range of substituted homoallylamines were prepared in good to excellent yields from readily available starting materials. No noble metal catalysts were used in this reaction, and Mo(CO)6 acted as both catalyst and reductant. This protocol provides an effective method for the selective synthesis of substituted homoallylamines from easily available nitroarenes.

Abstract
The first catalytic asymmetric cascade Heck-alkylation reaction of NH2-unprotected amino acid esters with N-(2-iodophenyl)allenamides is reported in this work. Under the promotion of a combining catalytic system comprising a chiral aldehyde, a chiral palladium complex, and the Lewis acid ZnCl2, the title reaction takes place smoothly, giving optically active α-alkyl tryptophan derivatives in moderate to good yields and excellent enantioselectivities. The target products can be converted into other structurally complex chiral indoles without the loss of enantioselectivities.

Abstract
![]()
Herein we disclose a catalytic synthesis of cycloalkanols
that
harnesses the potential of N2O as an oxygen transfer agent
onto sp3-hybridized carbons. The protocol is distinguished
by its mild conditions and wide substrate scope, thus offering an
opportunity to access carbocyclic compounds from simple precursors
even in an enantioselective manner. Preliminary mechanistic studies
suggest that the oxygen insertion event occurs at an alkylnickel species
and that N2O is the O transfer reagent.

Abstract
An unprecedented and novel synthetic route to hexahydropyrrolo[2,3-b]indoles bearing cis-contiguous stereocenters with excellent stereoselectivities (ee of >99%, dr of ≤99:1) has been disclosed that proceeds through the ring opening of activated aziridines with electron deficient 4-substituted indoles followed by a novel cyclization in a domino fashion, thereby obviating the use of 3-substituted indoles as the prerequisite nucleophile. Another efficient synthetic route to tetrahydropyrrolo[4,3,2-de]quinolines in excellent yields (≤93%) and excellent enantioselectivity (ee of >99%) has been established via ring opening of activated aziridines with 4-bromo-1-methyl-1H-indole at relatively higher temperatures followed by Cu(I)-catalyzed intramolecular C-N cyclization in the same pot. The stability and the formation of products at different temperatures are explained by computational studies.

Abstract
Dearomative indole C3-alkylation─intramolecular iminium trapping cascade reaction of indole-C3-tethered nucleophiles is a well-known blueprint for accessing 2,3-fused indolines. In exploring this strategy, synthetic chemists have utilized diverse classes of electrophilic reagents. However, the tethered nucleophiles have mainly been limited to heteronucleophiles and enolates; exploitation of tethered arenes/heteroarenes remains unknown. We herein describe the first examples of pyrrole-intercepted dearomative indole C3-allylation and benzylation of indole-tethered pyrroles toward the synthesis of 2,3-cis-fused tetracyclic indolines featuring a C3 all-carbon quaternary stereocentre. Our methodology capitalizes on the capability of NaOtBu/Et3B combination to direct the intermolecular alkylation to take place regioselectively at the indole C3 position over the other reactive sites (indole N and C2 and pyrrole C2 positions) and leverages the high nucleophilicity of the pyrrole template for the concomitant aza-Friedel-Crafts ring closure that traditionally would require an additional acid-catalyzed synthetic step. This cascade reaction is accomplished with broad substrate scope and excellent yields and chemo-, regio-, and diastereoselectivities.

Abstract
gem-Difluorocyclopropane diester is disclosed as a new type of donor–acceptor cyclopropane, which smoothly participates in (3 + 2)-cycloadditions with various aldehydes and ketones. This work represents the first application of gem-difluorine substituents as an unconventional donor group for activating cyclopropane substrates in catalytic cycloaddition reactions. With this method, a wide variety of densely functionalized gem-difluorotetrahydrofuran skeletons, which are otherwise difficult to prepare, could be readily assembled in high yields under mild reaction conditions. Computational studies show that the cleavage of the C–C bond between the difluorine and diester moieties occurs upon a SN2-type attack of the carbonyl oxygen. A new type of donor–acceptor cyclopropane with gem-difluorine as an unconventional donor group undergoes (3 + 2)-cycloadditions with various aldehydes/ketones, affording densely functionalized gem-difluorotetrahydrofurans.![]()

Abstract
Natural product synthesis has been the prime focus for the development of new carbon-carbon bond forming transformations. In particular, the construction of molecules with all-carbon quaternary centers remain one of the most facinating targets. In this regard, transition-metal catalyzed processes have gained imporatnce owing to their mild nature. Towards this, Pd(0)-catalyzed decarboxylative allylations (DcA) is worth mentioning and has emerged as a convenient method for synthesis of molecules even in their enantioenriched form. However, in order to have a flexible approach that facilitate rapid production of derivatives by utilizing commercially available allyl alcohols, the concept of Pd(0)-catalyzed deacylative allylations (DaA) methodology gains popularity. In these reactions, the transfer of an acyl group has a functional role in activating the allylic alcohol (proelectrophile) toward reaction with Pd(0)-catalysts. We present here an Account on newly conceptualized deacylative allylations (DaA) methodology and its applications in the synthesis of various intermediates and building blocks. Further, its potential in the total synthesis of naturally occurring alkaloids have been summarized in this personal account.

Abstract
The Pd-catalysed asymmetric allylic alkylation (Pd-AAA) of prochiral enamide anions derived from 5H-oxathiazole 2,2-dioxides has been developed. Various 4,5-disubstituted and 4-substituted cyclic sulfamidate imines have participated in the transformation with a range of allyl carbonates-as well as 2-vinyl oxirane, 2-vinyl-N-tosylaziridine, and 2-vinyl-1,1-cyclopropane dicarboxylate-to furnish the desired C-allylated products in moderate to high yields, with high regioselectivites and generally high enantioselectivities. Conversion between N- and C-allyl products was observed, with the N-allylated products converting to the C-allylated products over time. The resulting high-value allylated heterocyclic products all bear a tetrasubstituted stereogenic centre and can be reduced to an allylated chiral sulfamidate or an amino alcohol.

Abstract
Visible-light-induced cycloaddition reactions initiated via energy-transfer processes have recently evolved as powerful methods for the construction of strained cyclic molecules that are not easily accessed using known ground-state synthetic methods. Particularly, the reactions initiated by the excitation of aromatic rings provide an alternative solution to the direct transformations of aromatic feedstocks under the scheme of dearomatization. Vinylcyclopropanes (VCPs) are well-known reagents in radical clock experiments, working as a probe to detect transient radical intermediates. However, the synthetic applications in this regard still remain limited due to uncontrollable selectivities. Herein, we report visible-light-induced dearomatization of indole- or pyrrole-tethered VCPs, in which several competitive reaction pathways, including [5 + 2], [2 + 2], interrupted [5 + 2], and [5 + 4] cycloadditions, can be well regulated by engineering substrate structures and tuning reaction conditions. The reaction mechanism has been explored by combined experimental and computational investigations. These reactions provide a convenient method to synthesize structurally diverse polycyclic molecules with high efficiency and good selectivity.

Abstract
An efficient palladium-catalyzed AAA reaction with a simple α-sulfonyl carbon anion as nucleophiles is presented for the first time. Allyl fluorides are used as superior precursors for the generation of π-allyl complexes that upon ionization liberate fluoride anions for activation of silylated nucleophiles. With the unique bidentate diamidophosphite ligand ligated palladium as catalyst, the in situ generated α-sulfonyl carbon anion was quickly captured by the allylic intermediates, affording a series of chiral homo-allylic sulfones with high efficiency and selectivity. This work provides a mild in situ desilylation strategy to reveal nucleophilic carbon centers that could be used to overcome the pKa limitation of “hard” nucleophiles in enantioselective transformations. A variety of “hard” α-sulfonyl carbanions of aryl, heteroaryl and alkyl sulfones were successfully employed as nucleophiles in palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation with excellent enantioselectivities.![]()

Abstract
Pyrroloindolines and related systems are present in a large number of complex natural products. These core structures have generated considerable synthetic interest, as many of the compounds possess challenging, elaborate structures and interesting biological properties. Recently we have focused on using trichloroacetimidates for the synthesis of these fascinating molecules. Trichloroacetimidates can be used as an electrophilic source of an alkyl group to form the pyrroloindoline directly from tryptamine derivatives. In this manner trichloroacetimidates provide a flexible solution to forming highly functionalized pyrroloindoline core structures, needing only a catalytic amount of a Lewis acid to effect the requisite transformations.

Abstract
The spiroindimicins are a unique class of chlorinated indole alkaloids characterized by three heteroaromatic rings structured around a congested spirocyclic stereocenter. Here, we report the first total synthesis of (+)-spiroindimicin A, which bears a challenging C-3′/C-5′′-linked spiroindolenine. We detail our initial efforts to effect a biomimetic oxidative spirocyclization from its proposed natural precursor, lynamicin D, and describe how these studies shaped our final abiotic 9-step solution to this complex alkaloid built around a key Pd-catalyzed asymmetric spirocyclization. Scalable access to spiroindimicins A, H, and their congeners has enabled discovery of their activity against several parasites relevant to human health, providing potential starting points for new therapeutics for the neglected tropical diseases leishmaniasis and African sleeping sickness. Spiroindimicins A and H have been synthesized for the first time via a key palladium-catalyzed spirocyclization. Access to these alkaloids and several congeners has allowed the discovery of their antiparasitic properties.![]()

This Review compiles the evolution, mechanistic understanding, and more recent advances in enantioselective Pd-catalyzed allylic substitution and decarboxylative and oxidative allylic substitutions. For each reaction, the catalytic data, as well as examples of their application to the synthesis of more complex molecules, are collected. Sections in which we discuss key mechanistic aspects for high selectivity and a comparison with other metals (with advantages and disadvantages) are also included. For Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution, the catalytic data are grouped according to the type of nucleophile employed. Because of the prominent position of the use of stabilized carbon nucleophiles and heteronucleophiles, many chiral ligands have been developed. To better compare the results, they are presented grouped by ligand types. Pd-catalyzed asymmetric decarboxylative reactions are mainly promoted by PHOX or Trost ligands, which justifies organizing this section in chronological order. For asymmetric oxidative allylic substitution the results are grouped according to the type of nucleophile used.

Abstract
Tryptophan-containing isoprenoid indole alkaloid natural products are well known for their intricate structural architectures and significant biological activities. Nature employs dimethylallyl tryptophan synthases (DMATSs) or aromatic indole prenyltransferases (iPTs) to catalyze regio- and stereoselective prenylation of l-Trp. Regioselective synthetic routes that isoprenylate cyclo-Trp-Trp in a 2,5-diketopiperazine (DKP) core, in a desymmetrizing manner, are nonexistent and are highly desirable. Herein, we present an elaborate report on Brønsted acid-promoted regioselective tryptophan isoprenylation strategy, applicable to both the monomeric amino acid and its dimeric l-Trp DKP. This report outlines a method that regio- and stereoselectively increases sp3 centers of a privileged bioactive core. We report on conditions involving screening of Brønsted acids, their conjugate base as salt, solvent, temperature, and various substrates with diverse side chains. Furthermore, we extensively delineate effects on regio- and stereoselection of isoprenylation and their stereochemical confirmation via NMR experiments. Regioselectively, the C3-position undergoes normal-isoprenylation or benzylation and forms exo-ring-fused pyrroloindolines selectively. Through appropriate prenyl group migrations, we report access to the bioactive tryprostatin alkaloids, and by C3-normal-farnesylation, we access anticancer drimentines as direct targets of this method. The optimized strategy affords iso-tryprostatin B-type products and predrimentine C with 58 and 55% yields, respectively. The current work has several similarities to biosynthesis, such as-reactions can be performed on unprotected substrates, conditions that enable Brønsted acid promotion, and they are easy to perform under ambient conditions, without the need for stoichiometric levels of any transition metal or expensive ligands.

Abstract

Acylcyclopropanes
are employed as useful donor–acceptor
cyclopropanes that undergo formal (4 + 2) cyclocondensation with N-unprotected 3-substituted indoles in the presence of a
Brønsted acid catalyst. The reaction involves the simultaneous
alkylation of both the N and C-2 positions of the indole and provides
access to the 8,9-dihydropyrido[1,2-a]indole scaffold that is the central core of several biologically
relevant indole alkaloids in excellent yields and good selectivities.

Abstract
The control of C3/N1 chemoselectivity in indole alkylation with the same electrophiles is still challenging. An Rh/bisoxazolinephosphane-catalyzed chemodivergent regio- and enantioselective allylic alkylation of indoles was developed. Chiral C3- and N1-allylindoles can be selectively obtained with high branched/linear ratio and up to 99 % ee by changing the counteranion of Rh, the allylic carbonate, the reaction temperature, and the ligand.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed redox-neutral allylic alkylation of indoles with cyclopropyl acetylenes has been disclosed. Various 1,3-diene indolenine framework bearing a quaternary stereocenter at the C3 position were synthesized straightforwardly in good to excellent yields with high regio- and stereoselectivities. The reaction could be further expanded to the dearomatization of naphthols to synthesize functionalized cyclohexadienones with 1,3-diene motifs. The reaction exhibited high atom economy and good functional group tolerance.
