Abstract
A series of new fluorinated 1-benzylisatins was synthesized in high yields via a simple one-pot procedure in order to explore the possible effect of ortho-fluoro (3a), chloro (3b), or bis-fluoro (3d) substitution on the biological activity of this pharmacophore. Furthermore, the new isatins could be converted into water-soluble isatin-3-hydrazones using their acid-catalyzed reaction with Girard's reagent P and its dimethyl analog. The cytotoxic action of these substances is associated with the induction of apoptosis caused by mitochondrial membrane dissipation and stimulated reactive oxygen species production in tumor cells. In addition, compounds 3a and 3b exhibit platelet antiaggregation activity at the level of acetylsalicylic acid, and the whole series of fluorine-containing isatins does not adversely affect the hemostasis system as a whole. Among the new water-soluble pyridinium isatin-3-acylhydrazones, compounds 7c and 5c,e exhibit the highest antagonistic effect against phytopathogens of bacterial and fungal origin and can be considered useful leads for combating plant diseases.

Abstract
Sulfur-containing organophosphorus molecules have played a pivotal role in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical pesticides and functional materials, thereby motivating researchers worldwide to establish S-P bonds from more environmentally friendly phosphorus sources. In this study, a novel method was developed for constructing S-P bonds, specifically by reacting the inorganic phosphorus derivative TBA[P(SiCl3)2] with sulfur-containing compounds under mild conditions. This method demonstrates the advantages of low energy consumption, mild reaction conditions and environmental friendliness. Moreover, this protocol-as a green synthesis method to replace the use of white phosphorus in the production of organophosphorus compounds (OPCs)-achieved the functional conversion of "inorganic phosphorus to organic phosphorus", in line with the national green development strategy.

Abstract
Both theoretical and experimental studies were performed to explore the mechanism, regioselectivity, and enantioselectivity of phosphine-catalyzed [3 + 2] annulation between allenoates and acrylate or imine. Using density functional theory computations, we predicted that the enantioselective determining step is the nucleophilic addition of acrylate or imine to the catalyst-activated allenoate. In the key step, we proposed two hydrogen bonding interaction models (intermolecular H-bond model and intramolecular H-bond model). For acrylate substrates, the reaction proceeds via the intramolecular H-bond model and the strong noncovalent interactions between the 2-naphthyl ester moiety lead to the re-face attack pathway being more favorable. For imine substrates, the intermolecular H-bond model operates. In the annulation process, the bulky n-propyl oriented toward a crowded, sterically demanding environment plays a significant role in asymmetric induction. The theoretical calculation results agreed with experimental observations, and these results provide valuable insight into catalyst design and understanding of mechanisms of related reactions.

Abstract
Mimosine, a non-protein amino acid, is found in several tropical and subtropical plants, which has high value for medicine and agricultural chemicals. Here, in continuation of works aimed to development of natural product-based pesticidal agents, we present the first significant findings for insecticidal and nematicidal activities of novel mimosine derivatives. Interestingly, mimosinol and deuterated mimosinol (d-mimosinol) from mimosine had strong insecticidal activity which could be a result of tyrosinase inhibition (IC50 = 31.4 and 46.1 μM, respectively). Of synthesized phosphoramidothionate derivatives from two these amino alcohols, two compounds (1a and 1b) showed high insecticidal activity (LD50 = 0.5 and 0.7 μg/insect, respectively) with 50%–60% mortality at 50 μg/mL which may be attributed to acetylcholinesterase inhibition. Compounds 1a and 1b also had strong nematicidal activity with IC50 = 31.8 and 50.2 μM, respectively. Our results suggest that the length of the alkyl chain and the functional group at the C5-position of phosphoramidothionates derived from mimosinol and d-mimosinol are essential for the insecticidal and nematicidal activities. These results reveal an unexplored scaffold as new insecticide and nematicide.
