Abstract
The visible light-induced C-H arylation of azoles has been accomplished by dual-catalytic system with the aid of an inexpensive ligand-free copper(i)-catalyst in combination with a suitable photoredox catalyst. An organic photoredox catalyst, 10-phenylphenothiazine (PTH), was identified as effective, cost-efficient and environmentally-benign alternative to commonly-used, expensive Ir(iii)-based complexes. The method proved applicable for the C-H arylation of various azole derivatives, including oxazoles, benzoxazoles, thiazoles, benzothiazoles as well as more challenging imidazoles and benzimidazoles. Moreover, the derivatization of complex molecules and the gram scale synthesis of the natural product balsoxin reflected the synthetic utility of the developed strategy. Mechanistic studies were indicative of a single electron transfer-based (SET) mechanism with an aryl radical as key intermediate.

Abstract
Benzimidazole derivatives are considered as important heterocyclic motifs that show a wide range of pharmaceutical applications. In view of their wide-ranging bioactivities, it is imperative to direct research on the sustainable catalytic synthesis of benzimidazole. Therefore, herein, we report a novel approach for the synthesis of benzimidazole and its derivatives with engineered MgO supported on dendritic fibrous nano silica (MgO@DFNS) as a sustainable heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst MgO@DFNS was thoroughly characterized to understand its physio-chemical properties using XRD, FE-SEM, XPS, FT-IR, zeta potential, HR-TEM, TGA, TPR and TPD. The obtained results suggested that the catalyst MgO@DFNS prepared well and have the desired characteristics in it. After the successful characterisation of the prepared catalyst MgO@DFNS, it was applied in the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives via condensation of o-phenylenediamine, and various aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes under ambient temperature. The catalyst produced a clean reaction profile with excellent yields in a shorter time under the umbrella of green chemistry. The effect of reaction parameters such as the effect of time, catalyst dosage, loading of MgO, effect of solvents and effect of different homo and heterogeneous catalyst were also tested. Furthermore, to understand the scope of the catalyst different substituted diamines and substituted aldehydes were reacted and obtained desired products in good to efficient yield. In addition, a recyclability study was also conducted and it was observed that the catalyst could be recycled for up to six cycles without noticeable changes in the morphology and activity. We believe that the present methodology gave several advantages such as an eco-friendly method, easy work-up, good selectivity, high yields and quick recovery of catalyst. MgO@DFNS is highly stable for several cycles without significant loss of its activity, which possibly demonstrates its applicability at the industrial scale.

Abstract
In this study, a series of 14 Cu (II), Zn (II), Ni (II) and Ag (I) complexes containing bis-benzimidazole derivatives were successfully designed and synthesized from 2-(1H-benzimidazole-2-yl)-phenol derivatives and corresponding metal salt solutions. The compound structures were identified by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, powder X-ray diffraction and ESI-MS analyses, and the presence of the metal in the complexes was confirmed by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and ICP optical emission spectrometry. Electronic structure calculations were also carried out to describe the detailed structures in addition to the electronic absorption spectra of the ligands. The cytotoxic activity of the complexes was evaluated against three human cancer cell lines: lung (A549), breast (MDA-MB-231) and prostate (PC3) cancer cells. All complexes inhibited anti-proliferative cancer cells better than free ligands, especially Zn (II) and Ag (I) complexes, which are most sensitive to MDA-MB-231 cells. In addition, showing the growth inhibition of three cancer cell lines with IC50 < 10.4 µM, complexes C1 , C3 and C14 could be considered potential multi-targeted anti-cancer agents.

Abstract
Experimental and theoretical investigations on the optimized geometrical structure, electronic and vibrational features of 2-[(1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)-methyl]benzoic acid are provided using the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The Vibrational Energy Distribution Analysis (VEDA) program was used to perform the vibrational assignments and calculate the Potential Energy Distribution (PED). The acquired FT-IR and FT Raman data were used to complete the vibrational assignment and characterization of the compound fundamental modes. Theoretical and actual NMR chemical shifts were found to be quite similar. The UV-vis spectrum of 21HBMBA, as well as effects of solvents, have been investigated. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies reveal that charge transfer happens within the molecule and MEP surface to be a chemically reactive area appropriate for drug action. Furthermore, a thorough examination of Non-Bonding Orbitals, excitation energies, AIM charges, Fukui functions and the Electron Localization Function (ELF) is carried out. The research is also expanded to compute first-order hyperpolarizability and forecast NLO characteristics. The details of the docking studies aided in the prediction of protein binding.

Abstract
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are one of the most common structural motifs in approximately 80% of the marketed drugs. Of these, benzimidazoles analogues are known to elicit a wide spectrum of pharmaceutical activities such as anticancer, antibacterial, antiparasitic, antiviral, antifungal as well as chemosensor effect. Based on the benzimidazole core fused heterocyclic compounds, crescent-shaped bisbenzimidazoles were developed which provided an early breakthrough in the sequence-specific DNA recognition. Over the years, a number of functional variations in the bisbenzimidazole core have led to the emergence of their unique properties and established them as versatile ligands against several classes of pathogens. The present review provides an overview of diverse pharmacological activities of the bisbenzimidazole analogues in the past decade with a brief account of its development through the years.

Abstract
The thia-zolo[3,4-a]benzimidazole fused-ring system in the title compound, C14H8N2OS2, is nearly planar, the r.m.s. deviation being 0.0073 Å. The thia-zolo-benzimidazole-2-thione system is almost in the same plane as the furan-2-yl-methyl-ene moiety, with a dihedral angle of 5.6 (2)° between the two least-squares planes. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are connected by weak inter-molecular inter-actions (C-H⋯N and slipped π-π stacking) into a three-dimensional network. The nature of the inter-molecular inter-actions was also qu-anti-fied by Hirshfeld surface analysis. DFT analysis indicates a good agreement of the experimentally determined and the theoretically calculated mol-ecular structures.

Construction of A Preliminary Three-Dimensional Structure Simian betaretrovirus Serotype-2 (SRV-2) Reverse Transcriptase Isolated from Indonesian Cynomolgus Monkey. Trop Life Sci Res 2020; 31:47-61. Abstract
Simian betaretrovirus serotype-2 (SRV-2) is an important pathogenic agent in Asian macaques. It is a potential confounding variable in biomedical research. SRV-2 also provides a valuable viral model compared to other retroviruses which can be used for understanding many aspects of retroviral-host interactions and immunosuppression, infection mechanism, retroviral structure, antiretroviral and vaccine development. In this study, we isolated the gene encoding reverse transcriptase enzyme (RT) of SRV-2 that infected Indonesian cynomolgus monkey (Mf ET1006) and predicted the three dimensional structure model using the iterative threading assembly refinement (I-TASSER) computational programme. This SRV-2 RT Mf ET1006 consisted of 547 amino acids at nucleotide position 3284–4925 of whole genome SRV-2. The polymerase active site located in the finger/palm subdomain characterised by three conserved catalytic aspartates (Asp90, Asp165, Asp166), and has a highly conserved YMDD motif as Tyr163, Met164, Asp165 and Asp166. We estimated that this SRV-2 RT Mf ET1006 structure has the accuracy of template modelling score (TM-score 0.90 ± 0.06) and root mean square deviation (RMSD) 4.7 ± 3.1Å, indicating that this model can be trusted and the accuracy can be seen from the appearance of protein folding in tertiary structure. The superpositionings between SRV-2 RT Mf ET1006 and Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 (HIV-1) RT were performed to predict the structural in details and to optimise the best fits for illustrations. This SRV-2 RT Mf ET1006 structure model has the highest homology to HIV-1 RT (2B6A.pdb) with estimated accuracy at TM-score 0.911, RMSD 1.85 Å, and coverage of 0.953. This preliminary study of SRV-2 RT Mf ET1006 structure modelling is intriguing and provide some information to explore the molecular characteristic and biochemical mechanism of this enzyme.

Abstract
The study explores the one-pot synthesis of novel α-aminonitriles by reacting 4-[(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)methoxy]benzaldehyde, substituted anilines and sodium cyanide using a catalytic amount of copper dipyridine dichloride (CuPy2 Cl2 ) and employing the Strecker reaction under mild conditions. All the synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial and antitubercular activity. The promising lead compounds 4d and 4e were identified, with MIC values ranging between 3.9 and 7.8 µg/mL against different bacterial strains. Compounds 4c-e and 4g also showed good antifungal activities against the tested fungal strain. Among those tested, compound 4e exhibited excellent antitubercular activity (MIC 0.05 μg/mL) with a low level of cytotoxicity, suggesting that compound 4e is a promising lead for subsequent investigations in search for new antitubercular agents.
