Abstract
The predissociation spectrum of the Cl-35(H2) complex is measured between 450 and 800 cm-1 in a multipole radiofrequency ion trap at different temperatures using the FELIX infrared free electron laser. Above a certain temperature, the removal of the Cl-(p-H2) para nuclear spin isomer by ligand exchange to the Cl-(o-H2) ortho isomer is suppressed effectively, thereby making it possible to detect the spectrum of this more weakly bound complex. At trap temperatures of 30.5 and 41.5 K, we detect two vibrational bands of Cl-(p-H2) at 510(1) and 606(1) cm-1. Using accurate quantum calculations, these bands are assigned to transitions to the inter-monomer vibrational modes (v1,v2 l2 ) = (0, 20) and (1, 20), respectively.

Abstract
Previous state-selected spectra of methanol in the 5nu(1) OH stretch overtone region [O. V. Boyarkin, T. R. Rizzo, and D. S. Perry, J. Chem. Phys. 110, 11346 (1999)] revealed a structure indicating an intramolecular vibrational redistribution on three time scales. Whereas in that work, methanol in the 5nu(1) bright state was prepared close to the staggered conformation, methanol in the "partially eclipsed" conformation is prepared here by double resonance excitation through a torsionally excited intermediate state. The excited molecules are detected by infrared laser assisted photofragment spectroscopy. In partially eclipsed methanol, the strong coupling of the nu(1) OH stretch to the nu(2) CH stretch becomes weaker, but the coupling responsible for the widths of the narrowest features becomes stronger.

Abstract
When a sample of neon to which have been added less than 1% each of H(2) and H(2)O is deposited at 4.3 K, the infrared spectrum of the resulting solid includes an absorption by the vibrational fundamental of H(2), which is normally infrared inactive. New absorptions are also associated with the vibrational fundamentals of the H(2)O in the sample. Similar results are obtained for deuterium-enriched samples. The new peaks are assigned to the van der Waals complex of H(2)O with H(2). As has been found in earlier theoretical, gas-phase, and solid-state studies of this and closely related systems, the infrared absorptions arise principally from complexes involving ortho-H(2), for which J=1.
