Abstract
This perspective aims at celebrating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Passerini three component reaction. After being nearly neglected for many years, now this reaction has become quite popular, thanks to the achievements of the last 30 years, which have revealed several chances of exploitation in organic synthesis. Though not being comprehensive, this review means to show the various ways that have been used in order to expand the utility of the Passerini reaction. Post-MCR transformations to give heterocycles or peptidomimetics, variants through single component replacement, stereochemical issues, and applications in total syntheses will be especially covered.

AbstractAcrylamides are versatile building blocks that are easily obtained from readily available starting materials. During the last 20 years, these valuable substrates bearing a nucleophilic nitrogen atom and an electrophilic double bond have proven to be efficient domino partners, leading to a wide variety of complex aza-heterocycles of synthetic relevance. Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed multicomponent reaction of alkynes, carboxylic acids, and isocyanides has been developed with the assistance of silver salt under mild conditions. Highly functionalized captodative olefins are synthesized efficiently by this method, which can find many applications as versatile synthons in organic synthesis.

Abstract
A stereoselective one-pot procedure was developed to prepare S-substituted (Z)-enol esters through a base-triggered rearrangement. This transition metal-free multicomponent approach can be performed under an air atmosphere at room temperature, tolerates a wide set of chemical functionalities and generally affords high isolated yields. The (Z)-selectivity arises from the [1,4]-S- to O-acyl migration.

Abstract
We report a straightforward approach to synthesize 2-acyloxyacrylamides, which are useful synthons in organic synthesis. This involves a photoactivated multicomponent reaction, performed both in batch and under continuous flow conditions. This process affords the desired compounds in a stereoselective fashion from readily available starting materials in one step, without the aid of metal catalysis. This paper illustrates the preliminary work, the extensive experiments carried out to understand the limitations of the approach, and the optimization of the conditions for the synthesis of these particular captodative olefins.

Abstract
The aldol reaction has been evaluated in combination with the Ugi multicomponent reaction to assemble richly decorated mono- and polycyclic systems via expeditious cascade pathways. A small collection of pyrrolinones was generated thereof, and the scarcely accessible pyridoquinoxalinedione scaffold was also prepared by designing an additional nucleophilic substitution step in this domino sequence requiring minimal operational effort.

Abstract
We document here the use of polymer-supported p-toluenesulfonic acid as a highly effective, robust, economical and eco-friendly isocyanide scavenger. The herein described strategy circumvent the intense and repulsive odor of volatile isocyanides, enabling simplified and odorless workup and purifications. The usefulness of the new scavengers has been validated in a set of diverse isocyanide-based organic transformations and this approach is also amenable to parallel synthesis techniques.
