Abstract
Melamine, a typical nitrogen enriched organic compound exhibiting great potential in the industrial sector, is exploited as an adulterant to inflate protein levels in dairy products, can pose serious threats to humans and therefore necessitates its swift detection and precise quantification at its first exposure. In this investigation, sensitive and reliable sensor probes were fabricated using CuO nanoparticles and its nanocomposites (NCs) with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon black (CB), and graphene oxide (GO) to promptly quantify melamine in dairy products. The optical, morphological, and structural characteristics of the CuO-CNT NCs were achieved using diverse instrumental techniques including UV-visible spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X- ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and etc. The fabrication of glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) was accomplished by coating CuO-CNT NCs through a binder (5 % nafion). These sensor probes demonstrated outstanding electrochemical sensor performance with CuO-CNT NCs/Nafion/GCE sensor probe in terms of very low limit of detection (0.27 nM), good linearity range (0.05-0.5 nM), and relatively high sensitivity (93.924 µA µM-1 m-2) for melamine under optimized experimental conditions. Furthermore, the performance of CuO-CNT NCs/Nafion/GCE coated sensor probes was practically validated for the selective melamine detection in the real sample analysis of commercially available milk brands, which revealed significant figures of merit in a very short response time of 10 s. From the results, it was concluded that the current study might be helpful in the development of an efficient commercial sensor based on ultra-sensitive transition metal oxides in the field of health care monitoring, food stuffs in a broader scale as well as food applications.

Abstract
In terms of cancer-related deaths among women, breast cancer (BC) is the most common. Clinically, human epidermal growth receptor 2 (HER2) is one of the most commonly used diagnostic biomarkers for facilitating BC cell proliferation and malignant growth. In this study, a disposable gold electrode (DGE) modified with gold nanoparticle-decorated Ti3C2Tx (Au/MXene) was utilized as a sensing platform to immobilize the capturing antibody (Ab1/Au/MXene). Subsequently, nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) with a metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived copper-manganese-cobalt oxide, tagged as NG/CuMnCoOx, was used as a probe to label the detection antibody (Ab2). A sandwich-type immunosensor (NG/CuMnCoOx/Ab2/HER2-ECD /Ab1/Au/MXene/DGE) was developed to quantify HER2-ECD. NG/CuMnCoOx enhances the conductivity, electrocatalytic active sites, and surface area to immobilize Ab2. In addition, Au/MXene facilitates electron transport and captures more Ab1 on its surface. Under optimal conditions, the resultant immunosensor displayed an excellent linear range of 0.0001 to 50.0 ng. mL-1. The detection limit was 0.757 pg·mL-1 with excellent selectivity, appreciable reproducibility, and high stability. Moreover, the applicability for determining HER2-ECD in human serum samples indicates its ability to monitor tumor markers clinically.

Abstract
It is pivotal to precisely detect food preservatives to ascertain food quality and safety. In this work, we report the sensitive electrochemical detection of widely used cytotoxic food preservative tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ). A novel nanocomposite was sonochemically prepared by embedding ternary metal oxide (TMO) comprising ZnO, CuO, and MgO in β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) functionalized carbon black (CB). The properties of the prepared nanocomposite were evaluated by employing multiple characterization methods. The nanocomposite fabricated on a screen printed carbon electrode exhibited exceptional electrocatalytic activity towards TBHQ detection, evident from the resultant very low detection limit of 1 nM and high sensitivity of 22.67 μA μM-1 cm-2. Moreover, the developed TBHQ sensor evinced all the important traits of a good electrochemical sensor including excellent selectivity, stability, reproducibility, and repeatability. Furthermore, for validating practical feasibility of TBHQ detection, we successfully determined this food additive in edible oils.

Abstract
In this research study, we developed a voltammetric electrochemical sensor probe with a copolymer Nafion (Sulfonated Tetrafluoroethylene-based Fluoro-polymer) decorated with hydrothermally prepared sandwich-type CuO/ZnO nanospikes (NSs) onto a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for reliable thiourea (TU) detection. The detailed characterizations in terms of structural morphology, binding energy, elemental compositions, grain size and crystallinity for synthesized NSs were performed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, respectively. The differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) analysis for TU showed good linearity at current-versus-TU concentration on the calibration plot in the 0.15~1.20 mM range, which is defined as a dynamic detection range (LDR) of TU in a phosphate buffer solution. Considering the slope of LDR over the GCE-coated NSs surface area (0.0316 cm2), the TU sensor sensitivity (0.4122 µA µM-1 cm-2) was obtained. Besides this, the low limit (LOD) for TU detection was calculated and found to be 23.03 ± 1.15 µM. The fabricated Nafion/CuO/ZnO NSs/GCE sensor probe was created as a reliable sensor based on reproducibility, interference effect, stability and response time. Real bio-samples were investigated and the results confirm the anticipated reliability of the TU sensor probe. Thus, this is a noble way to develop enzyme-free electrochemical sensors that could be an alternative approach for the detection of chemicals in the field of enzyme-free biosensor development technology.

Abstract
In this study, Cu-MOF/rGO/CuO/α-MnO2 nanocomposites have been fabricated by a one-step hydrothermal method and used in the voltammetric detection of resorcinol (RS). The poor conductivity of MOFs in the field of electrochemical sensing is still a major challenge. A series of Cu-MOF/rGO/CuO/α-MnO2 nanocomposites have been synthesized with varying fractions of rGO and with a fixed amount of α-MnO2 via a facile method. These nanocomposites are well characterized using some sophisticated characterization techniques. The as-prepared nanohybrids have strongly promoted the redox reactions at the electrode surface due to their synergistic effects of improved conductivity, high electrocatalytic activity, an enlarged specific surface area, and a plethora of nanoscale level interfacial collaborations. The electrode modified with Cu-MOF/rGO/CuO/α-MnO2 has revealed superior electrochemical properties demonstrating linear differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) responses from a 0.2 to 22 μM RS concentration range (R2 = 0.999). The overall results of this sensing podium have shown excellent stability, good recovery, and a low detection limit of 0.2 μM. With excellent sensing performance achieved, the practicability of the sensor has been evaluated to detect RS in commercial hair color samples as well as in tap water and river water samples. Therefore, we envision that our hybrid nanostructures synthesized by the structural integration strategy will open new horizons in material synthesis and biosensing platforms.

Abstract
The facile wet-chemical technique was used to prepare the low-dimensional nano-formulated porous mixed metal oxide nanomaterials (CuO.Mn2O3.NiO; CMNO NMs) in an alkaline medium at low temperature. Detailed structural, morphological, crystalline, and functional characterization of CMNO NMs were performed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analyses. An efficient and selective creatine (CA) sensor probe was fabricated by using CMNO NMs decorated onto glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as CMNO NMs/GCE by using Nafion adhesive (5% suspension in ethanol). The relation of current versus the concentration of CA was plotted to draw a calibration curve of the CMNO NMs/GCE sensor probe, which was found to have a very linear value (r2 = 0.9995) over a large dynamic range (LDR: 0.1 nM~0.1 mM) for selective CA detection. The slope of LDR by considering the active surface area of GCE (0.0316 cm2) was applied to estimate the sensor sensitivity (14.6308 µAµM-1 cm-2). Moreover, the detection limit (21.63 ± 0.05 pM) of CMNO MNs modified GCE was calculated from the signal/noise (S/N) ratio at 3. As a CA sensor probe, it exhibited long-term stability, good reproducibility, and fast response time in the detection of CA by electrochemical approach. Therefore, this research technique is introduced as a promising platform to develop an efficient sensor probe for cancer metabolic biomarker by using nano-formulated mixed metal oxides for biochemical as well as biomedical research for the safety of health care fields.
